  If you want to have fun and have entertainment- do not go here!

  My husband and I booked this trip 9 months in advance to celebrate my 30th birthday, hoping for a special and memorable experience. Unfortunately, the stay did not meet expectations. Despite emailing ahead of time to inform the resort of my birthday and arranging dinner reservations there were errors and no recognition of the occasion. The reservation for Black Iron was made for the wrong date, and we had to personally speak with the restaurant to be accommodated. Even after clarifying it was my birthday, the staff made no effort to make it special. In fact, while having dessert, we heard them singing for another guest at a nearby table, which was disheartening. For a brand-new resort, the property already showed signs of poor maintenance: cracked walls, loose elevator buttons, broken escalators, peeling paint, and even missing bathroom doors in the hallway. Activities during the day were minimal, and the resort felt large, empty, and lifeless. The lack of beach access was another major disappointment. Dining was inconsistent and often frustrating. At the Aroma bakery, basic menu items were repeatedly unavailable (no croissants, Cubano sandwiches, or cucumbers for green juice). The buffet was mediocre, with repetitive offerings and little variety. The Mediterranean restaurant was extremely slow, and after waiting over 20 minutes for baklava that never arrived, we left. The Black Iron restaurant was the highlight of our trip, as the food (particularly the skirt steak and bone marrow) was excellent. Service also fell short. Our in-room fridge and snacks were never restocked despite multiple calls. The pools were not properly maintained—we even noticed used bandages in the water. The jacuzzi in our room was too dirty to use at all. Adding to the frustration, we had purchased a Paradise Pass during a prior trip and were required to attend a presentation about membership. After declining, we noticed a clear decline in the attention we received for the rest of our stay. Other issues included: • Very few restrooms in the main hallway • Limited daytime entertainment and activities • Snack bars missing items listed on menus Overall, the resort did not deliver the level of service, cleanliness, or hospitality expected—especially for a milestone celebration we had looked forward to for months. The property itself has potential, but it is poorly managed and lacking in guest care.

  Beautiful Ava

  We enjoyed our trip to the beautiful Ava resort. The resort is huge! We stayed in the south tower, which was a little quieter. The north tower had a little more activity. Both towers have lots of restaurants, bars, ice cream, and shops. We spent our days at the members pool, and the temperature was warm and perfect. It was really hot, so we spent most of our time in the pool. The staff at the pool took great care of us every day, special shout out to Erick, Almensor, and Oliberio. Our butlers made the trip for us. We are pretty low maintenance, but Randy and Rafael contacted us every day with updates on what was going on that day, had our chairs set up at the pool, met us for our dinner reservations, and always checked in with us to see if we needed anything. We couldn’t have asked for more.

  A great 5 day get away

  Loved the Ocean view Sunrise every morning. We had very clear Hot weather the whole time. We were there for a convention and got to enjoy all the swimming pools that were salt water and easy on the eyes and skin. The food was pretty fabulous. Most all the employees were very kind and helpful. You can get your walking steps in easily as it is almost a mile long. Would love to go back!

  Outstanding stay, great for a business retreat.

  The hotel was beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. It was especially good for business since I could easily meet with colleagues in the various restaurants, bars or at the pool and since it was all inclusive it made it so much easier.

  Awesome Ava!

  Don't always believe what you read! While some reviews may share concerns about AVA, our family and friends only experienced an awesome time. The resort is beautiful; upscale; and the staff treat you like you are the only ones there (at this large property). From the moment we arrived, we got the feeling we were in for a wonderful stay. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are so nice, including all oceanfront with the best views. While the property is big, it is truly easy to get around and not a bad walk (which the perk is you are all indoors so no heat from the outside). In addition, the amenities are plentiful and the restaurants are some of the best we have dined at in our many times travelling to all-inclusive resorts. Try them all if you can; they are the best! But again, while the property is amazing the staff are the best! Everyone was so helpful and made us feel welcome. A few special shout-outs to Francisco in Black Iron; Sergio in Chez Moi (he was just awesome and made our dining experience one of the best ever); and Monse Solis and Uriel who made some of the best drinks and made our nights so enjoyable. Also, we had THE best butlers (this came with our membership). We have been so lucky with our butlers over the years, and Norma and Ernesto continued our trend. They treated us like we were the only ones that were at the resort and with some special celebrations, they went out of their way to make each friend feel so special. We can't say "THANKS" enough to them for ALL they did - simply the best! While there are so many options to choose from and so many reviews on the many resorts, AVA won't disappoint. Book AVA now and you will be in for one special vacation!
