  A true gem right in front of the Arenal Volcano

  Our stay at Arenal Kioro was one of our highlights in our vacation to Costa Rica! It is about 20 minutes from the town of La Fortuna, right in front of the Arenal Volcano and has hot spring pools! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful. We got a couple's suite with a jacuzzi. Volcano view from our window and terrace. Absolutely breathtaking to wake up to. The breakfast is delicious! Fresh fruit, gallo pinto (which we absolutely loved!), eggs, and coffee. The hot spring pools were also a perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure. We can’t wait to come back!

  Pass on Arenal Kioro Suites and Spa

  I made our hotel reservations thru Sam's Club Entertainment after reading several postitive reviews. After inputing all the traveler ages and information, we reserved 3 adults and 1 child (17yo). At checkin, the front desk charged me additional fees because the child wasn't 12 and under. The front desk was rude and the first impression was negative. This hotel may have been nice when it first opened, but it's tired appearnace definietly wasn't worth the price we paid. The toilets barely flush, there are ants and other bugs on the bathroom counter, the game room is old and smells of mildew. The one positive I can share is the included breakfast was great. Also good to know is that the hotel is further from town then most hotels in La Fortuna. In my opinion, there were better options and I would not refer anyone to stay at this hotel.

  Arenal Kioro Suites and Spa IS a 5 star hotel

  We took a private transfer from San Jose to La Fortuna and stayed two nights (room 1002) - nice buffet breakfast included - with an amazing view of the volcano-Arenal. This is a 5 star beautiful hotel - of course expensive - but with an outstanding service and peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The entire staff was great. Room was clean and huuuge with a king size bed that included another personal bed by the entrance. We enjoyed the hotel's hot springs which were excellent and not crowded at all. We ate at the restaurant next to the pool and food was excellent; the Costa Rican sandwich is big and delicious, the vegetables, everything was excellent. This IS without a doubt, an excellent hotel for those who seek a peaceful-relaxing atmosphere and wonderful hot springs.

  Excellent Stay

  Awesome property. Rooms were spacious and had incredible views- second floor would be my recommendation fro bits and volcano viewing, Beds were firm and comfy. No perfume in the sheets or towels- thats important to me. Hot Springs went from very warm to warm- super nice, and good lplace to meet other travelers. Food was excellent for dinner, not a lot of vegan choice for breakfast - only fruit. No oatmeal, no oat milk. They did have soy. Cereal was for kids, no granola. Uber is about 8 minutes away ( typically) and cheap. The ride to town is about 10 minutes, and there you will find lots of restaurants, bars, chocolate shop and of course souvenirs.

  Spectacular views and service

  This resort is spectacular. Every detail was exceptional. The staff takes care of every need, the suites are lovely and the beds are extremely comfortable. The property is absolutely stunning and took our breath away daily. The restaurants were incredible, especially breakfast. We visited the pool and hot springs every day and couldn’t get enough. A short uber or shuttle ride into the town of La Fortuna provided more incredible dining options and lots of shopping. We also visited the Titoku Hot Springs, enjoying the warm waters, gorgeous foliage and refreshing cocktails. This stunning resort is a 3 hour drive from the airport, but so worth it.
