  Don’t waste your money

  Lovely beach but very messy and not looked after, plenty of towels though. Insufficient staff at pool bar and not interested in serving. Stray dog on beach that messes and vomits. Check in was so slow around an hour! Room was musty smelling. Telephone out of order, non functional coffee machine with no cups until day 6 despite repeated requests. App showed as an overlap whatever that is so couldn’t log in or use to book restaurants. Food average, no spoons for soup! Salt and pepper generally empty! Opens late daily and a queue to get in. Staff at this hotel are very unfriendly. Spa overpriced and spa pool as well as several toilets are out of order! Work in progress signs all week. This is NOT a five star hotel, so many things wrong and so many inconsistencies that add up. Don’t waste your money!

  Some staff made it a 4.5 vice 2 star

  Well I will start off by saying this would have been a two star review but some of the employees made our stay a 4.5 star stay. I’ll break this down as best I can. Diamond club, Emerson and Dymond are amazing and really made our family feel special. The ladies in the lounge were amazing too. Food and beverage manager: Simone - top notch addressed the two issues we had very quickly and professionally. Gratzie: The good: Kayla, Natalie, Andre, Leesa and Nelson are wonderful and made us feel special every meal. Very attentive to their customers. Trishelle greater us every day with a smile and even got us set up with our water, drinks/coffee ect. The bad: Oneke avoid this racist rude waitress at all costs. Ask for the above servers if you want a fine dining experience. Hunters steak house: The good: food and service nothing really stood out as exceptional, but definitely a great place to enjoy a meal. Carribean: The good: we didn’t have any The bad: hot no breeze, our waiter forgot to put our entrées in and we waited over an hour still no food while others around us were being served. The diamond club and Simone made up for the ruined evening that’s all I will say about it. But royalton take note of your all star employees. Diamond club beach and bar: The good: hot food served on the beach at lunch, very good food. Cabana’s are cool, make sure you go see Anya she is a pleasure and takes care of the guests on that side, I wish the royalton had more employees like Anya. Separate area for pool and beach are great, less busy. When followed …. The bad: the diamond club bar had a bartender lift a tip jar up in front of her face and back down for no reason perhaps expect to say hey tip me. I found that behaviour very unprofessional and rude. Swim up bar staff seemed Miserable and over worked, always seemed to be short staffed there. They need to enforce the area’s for diamond club more. The beach: The good: Water is warm, sun is hot so get there early for a chair! Anya is an amazing beach butler we love her! The bad: lots of soliciting from The diamond club side. Vendors set up just off the beach chairs. The rooms: Truthfully we were not impressed at all. Cracked tiles in the shower, the floors, musty smell in the rooms, clothes were always damp, AC was hit or miss. Rooms 1 of 5 stars. We didn’t complain because we did only sleep there. Outside most of the time. But don’t let the name fool you these rooms are a 90’s best western at best. M Coffee shop is great! Wonderful staff and products are fantastic. The buffet we only ate there once and it was meh. Others seemed to Enjoy it. I suggest eating there at least once. Our bellhop was amazing, very polite and professional. The royalton really needs to have Emerson teach the other butlers how to look after guests, Anya teach the diamond club beach and bar staff how to take care of customers and it would elevate the resort to the next level. The people Mentioned in this review made our trip. If we had not had interactions with those staff members we would have never thought to go back. However because of their customer service we are contemplating going back. If you’re going; go diamond club ask for Emerson if you wanted to be treated like a celebrity.

  Not a true Royalton like other islands.

  Worst hotel we’ve ever been to. We even upgraded to butler service. Staff are too busy on their phones to pay attention to guests. Food was mediocre, and hotel location is closed off from things to do in the area. Don’t waste your money.

  Chess Master

  Chess man was the highlight of my trip !! Great way to wind down the night !! He goes through and reallly teaches you the game !!! Big shoutout to him

  Nice location needs a bit more attention to detail.

  The resort is in a great location with a beautiful beach. We paid for Butler service. However, I did not feel that the extra cost was beneficial as any request made was reliant on the other departments in the hotel. As an upgraded amenity we were asked which bottle of Spirits we would like, this took 4 days to be delivered. Rooms are clean. however, turndown was intermittent, we had to ask for this on 3 of our 7 nights stay. There's a reasonable choice of food we found the best restaurants were the Caribbean and Italian. Food in the self-serve restaurant does not always appear very hot. Service in all restaurants can be hit or miss with some staff being very friendly and some not so. There's just 2 small lifts serving the hotel, and these can get very busy. There's an occasional smell of cannabis in and around the resort. Overall the hotel is good just a bit more attention to detail would make it very good . We did use the Spa, however there are renovations currently so the hydrotherapy area was not available and construction noise when we had our treatment.
