  Terrible service - Diamond Club is a joke

  Just returned from our trip. We booked a Diamond Club Suite Bayview… and needed a room with two beds as my wife and I were travelling with our 15 y.o. Daughter… we followed up on this by calling the travel agent to ensure we would have a room with two queens and that request was made with the hotel. This was a a requirement for our stay and one that was confirmed with the hotel and noted on our booking documentation. I’ll start with some positives… -the cove/bay location and the beach is really good. Nice soft sand and large beachfront with lots of space -the pools are very close and adjacent to the beach so you can go back and forth from both -the physical facilities are nice and well designed, lots of capacity -the Island itself and weather provide a nice hot location with great views out to the ocean Too many negatives from our experience… -The online room selection tool did not offer any rooms for selection… AND they want you to pay about another $100CAD to do this on top of your package already purchased -When we arrived we did not get a separate “seamless” check-in experience that was listed as included with the Diamond club package… upon arrival we were hoarded into a banquet room with about 50 other people all trying to check-in and handed a bunch of clipboards -Suprise fee at check-in that ranged from $150-$250 CAD for guests that many were surprised by -No bellhops to help carry or transport your luggage. We had 5 large bags and dragged them across a huge resort after travelling for the last 8 hours -They did not have a room with two beds for us… even though that WAS confirmed with the hotel at booking. We were left with no option but figure out the one bed for 3 of us that night…. Or told we could get a refund and find somewhere else to go at 10pm at night -We were provided a rooms with two beds the next day to move to…. But wasted a days of vacation unpacking/packing/unpacking and unable to enjoy the day. The room we moved too was NOT a Diamond Club room -The resort was lacking supply of bottled water… a KEY element that is needed in the heat. Many day we were unable to get water for hours at a time -The Butlers want you to text them on what’s app if you need anything. The exact opposite of what we wanted to do was be connected to our cell phones on the trip, but that is the only way to reach anyone. -There is LESS poolside loungers and beach loungers available to be used in the Diamond Club side of the pool and beach. You have a better chance of finding a spot in the normal sections as the Diamond Club sides were packed with all the decent spots gone very early in the mornings. -Staff SAY they will help fix things, but never do, genuinely they seemed unhappy to be there and the service is awful everyone with only a few exceptions

  Worst Vacation Facility Ever Corporate Insulting

  Our vacation was a waste of money. First let me say Paul our butler and the staff tried to accommodate the guest. The facility needs work and I felt sorry for the staff. Everywhere you went staff was apologizing for something that was broken or didn’t work. They had to face angry disappointed guests everyday of the trip. We paid for swimout with butler service. Diamond club was truly a disappointment. There was no difference in the offering of other staff. We paid all that money to have top tier service and we did not feel that at all. Food was out of 5 a solid 3, staff a solid 5 facility a 3. Entertainment a 1. So bad nothing was on the main stage we had 1 night of a reggae band after that was karaoke from the guest. I’ve stayed at several royaltons and this one was by far the worst. Corporate needs to be ashamed. Lastly, when my travel agent complained to the company they only shared the praise I gave to Paul for trying so hard but not my concerns about the food amenities. My husband is not a picky person and for him to disappointed says a lot. The people are nice and just smiled and apologized. When we realized it wasn’t their fault we made the best of it. After my travel agent contacted them the offered us $200 for a vacation we spent over $4000 for. Just disgusting from corporate. Antigua is a beautiful island with beautiful people. Please research your vacation spot. I saw bad reviews prior but got stuck going with a group for my best friend 30 wedding anniversary so I hoped for the best and did not get it.

  The butler experience at the diamond club

  We went for a celebration of a family members birthday. The butlers Rodwin and Danielle were warm, engaged and helped us from the small things like ensuring our minibar was filled with the drinks we liked to booking restaurants on site and one off site which was a great recommendation for dinner. Cake and prosecco on the birthday evening went down a treat too. They even helped us on the last day when when we were unable to get a late check out by booking in a time at the spa to have a shower before we headed to the airport. It took away all the stress.

  Royalton Antigua, a beautiful place to go

  I visited Royalton Antigua in October 2025 and was on my own. I was Diamond club and loved to have breakfast in Gracie at the sea being served by great staff. After breakfast I would go to the coffee bar to get a cappuccino with almond milk, again served by great staff. They also have delicious ice cream. Royalton has a good animation team and gym, but I also appreciated playing chess with Christoffer, who also gives chess lessons. I can really recommend that. Rooms were modern and cleaned every day with restocking of the mini bar.

  The Royalton Autograph made our experience of Antigua special

  The first experience of a Royalton hotel & it wont be the last. From the warm welcome staff were generally attentive courteous & keen to please. The buffet food & drinks was consistently good & of a premium standard. The resort is gorgeous & pristine. Stand out staff were chef Javonne accommodating a special breakfast request, the dancing barman radiating happiness & joy Seon & other bar staff creating cocktails based in your favourite tipple, Claude the maintenance man who opened a suitcase to bypass a jammed lock & Vanessa customer assistant on our block. The odd experiences below par were easily outnumbered by the many positives. A wonderful 7 days.
