Shauna Kaye, Queen of the butlers!
Just come back from a lovely 2 weeks at the Royalton. If you are thinking of going upgrade to the Diamond Club for beautiful rooms, select areas on the beach and around the pool and of course your very own butler! Our wonderful butlers were Shauna Kaye and Rodwin, who helped us check in with a dedicated diamond reception, booked all our restaurant reservations and more. They sourced non alcoholic beer and champagne for my husband to enjoy and helped with our extended check out. We will be back!

Terrible visit
Where to begin? The worse was a massive # of guests getting food poisoning form the same meal at buffet and the hotel taking very little responsibilityy.. All 8 of us were sick to varying degrees. The buffet has food sitting under lights for unknown periods of time. The hotel finally brought in a medical practice but people were billed crazy amounts for iv's, shots for nausea etc. The food is the same every day except for new year's eve when the dishes weren't even labeled so if you had any allergies you would be in trouble. Room was ok but we had leaky shower stall that was never fixed.. website is old and pictures are not accurate for tennis courts etc .The 1 court was used soda cans etc all over it.. no chairs to sit and wait since there was no sign up.. waited 5 days for chairs to appear... never did. They tell to use the app to make tours, dinner reservations etc and then admit there are issues with it. We had 4 rooms and you could only make dinner reservations at the restaurant is for 1 room. walk-ins not accepted despite tables being empty since there is no confirmation procedure for people who made reservations. WE used the tour company at the resort for snorkeling trips...2 cancellations and we finally had a a guy who worked at the beach arrange with a friend. Checkin took over an hour despite us all pre registering. Room cleaned ..all towels taken.. when asked housekeeping they aid delivery of clean towels delayed..so they shouldn't;y take them all!!!! This is not a 4 or 5 star resort other than the beach and pool area. And nowhere near the standards of an Autograph Collection property.

More attention to detail.
A Good location with a lovely beach and decent size rooms , however the room fixtures and fittings need checking , we had rails coming away from the walls , wardrobe doors not shutting properly and the safe not working correctly. Service levels were not consistent throughout the hotel , the guest relations team were helpful and within in the individual restaurants the service was excellent , the ladies at the coffee shop were friendly and helpful. However the buffet restaurant and poolside bar both had very poor service, this could also be seen in the a lack of cleanliness around both these areas . with plates , cups and rubbish not being collected and disposed of and tables dirty and not cleared in whole sections. The reservations process for booking restuarants was confusing and not explained. It would not take much to improve these issues and the hotel does have potential to provide a great experience.

JUST DONT BOOK HERE
This place SUCKS. SUCKS BAD. I’ve never in my life had a bad experience at an all inclusive resort until now. The staff is rude and it’s like you’re inconveniencing them any time you want to order a drink or anything at all. They never said good morning, hello, welcome. It’s blank stares like they don’t want to be there. The food is even worse. It’s reheated hospital food over and over again. It’s disgusting. We went to the Italian restaurant our second night and my husband ordered a gnocchi dish with cream sauce. We get the dinner and it’s just red sauce with burnt cheese. The cheese was so burnt it was black and the pasta was just stuck to the plate making it impossible to eat. I had to ask the waitress 4 times for a coke because she either forgot or didn’t choose to hear me over and over again. I ordered the meat lasagna which was also burnt and the meat tasted like feet. Didn’t eat that either. The next night we went to hunters steak house, we ordered the French onion soup, it arrived and had no cheese lol just the broth and onions. When we asked for cheese she just came with it out on a plate and dropped it into the bowl. With our bad experience at the Italian place, we decided to upgrade our meal and pay for the higher end steaks. We asked for the 40oz tomahawk steak which she had to run back and see if they had any. No they didn’t. So we settled for the Tbone. (It was the only option they had left) ordered it medium rare. I also got the New York strip so I can compare the two. When both arrived (one steak being $60 and the other being on the all inclusive menu) they were both the same steak. One was just bigger but tasted the exact same. They were both thin. Chewy. Overcooked. Nothing here is worth it. Even the upgrades. We settled for room service. I ordered the hamburger - hard as a rock, the jalepeno popper- the chewiest things I’ve ever tasted. And the grilled cheese which was 3 slices of bread and one layer of cheese lol the effort here is below anything else. I’m pretty sure they take the food that has not been eaten and reheat it over and over again because everything was either chewy or burnt to a crisp here. We saw cockroaches, one was dead in the lobby area and we saw it for the rest of the week because apparently no one cleans, mops or sweeps around here. All it takes is for one staff member to get rid of it so people don’t see it all week but then again it’s an inconvenience. The rooms are disgusting. Dirty. Nothing works. Lastly, this is what drove me to write this review because I felt bad all week but this was my breaking point. We booked an excursion. Paid over $300 to swim with the stingrays and go on a safari trip. We were looking forward to it! Pick up time was 9am. We get to the lobby around 845 - no truck. We wait until 9:20 - nothing. The front desk woman said, “don’t worry, the truck will come.” Waited a few more minutes, nothing. I walk back over to the excursion desk where I met with a woman (who was the nicest person I’ve met so far here) but she kept saying we don’t see anything for today. I bring up my confirmation number, the date, the proof. She calls her supervisor and APPARENTLY the girl who booked us originally overbooked everything and there was never a truck coming to pick us up. Overbooked?? We were the only people in the lobby so nothing at our hotel excursion wise was overbooked. The woman who was helping us then said “oh the woman tried finding you guys yesterday but couldn’t contact you.” We had our phone number written down, email, ROOM NUMBER listed on the information you could have called our room for crying out loud. But it’s a total lie because no one cares at this resort. No one “tried” to contact us after paying $300+ for an excursion. What a waste of time. No one gives any effort here, it’s insane. Our plane leaves the next day so we can’t book another excursion but oh my god I couldn’t wait to go home. My advice? Shut the hotel down, everyone has been giving it 1 star reviews this week. Fire your staff. Start over or don’t start at all. I won’t even call this a resort but this HOTEL is an absolute hell hole.
