Pura Vida along the Peninsula Papagayo
As an avid traveler who has sought out exceptional destination event venues across the globe, I can confidently say the Andaz Papagayo stands in a league of its own. This was my second time visiting Costa Rica, and experiencing this side of the country and this caliber of resort has redefined my expectations for luxury and immersive nature experiences. Special thanks to Alejandra and Paola for the amazing hospitality and experience. The Accommodations: Stunning Sanctuary The rooms here are nothing short of stunning. They are wonderfully large and designed for ultimate comfort. The highlight for me was the clever blend of the bathroom design, which incorporates an indoor/outdoor shower feel—it provides a luxurious, private connection to the lush surroundings. With ample bathroom counterspace, closet system and complimentary flip flops and hats for the trip, it's made for beach life. Culinary Excellence The food and beverage program warrants specific praise. The focus on freshness was evident in every meal, and the entire dining experience was marked by genuine culinary excellence. From casual lunches to family style dinners with our group, the quality was consistently superb and innovative. The best thing about the culinary experience is it offered different types of cuisines on property to hit any palette for those seeking something different each night. Our breakfast each morning took place at Gaio, newly reopened and offering a splendor of fresh cooked options, pastries and fruit. The menu buffet also took into account those that may have gulten allergies and set that separately in its own section (which I can appreciate as a newly gluten intolerant invidivdual). Ostra was our dinner for the 1st night and it was a delightful mix of Asian fusion. Chef Dani came out to greet the group and share his experience of world travels and culinary background, lending to the tasteful and fresh ingredients for us to share. A World-Class Event Destination For anyone considering a destination wedding or large event, look no further. The resort’s dedicated event sites are expansive, accommodating multiple setups and offering incredible flexibility. They are easily capable of hosting complex, large-scale functions while maintaining the intimate feel of a luxury retreat. One of the features of the property is being able to have a beach feel and also allow for indoor spacing. Pivoting with 'Pura Vida' Our planned snorkeling excursion was unfortunately curtailed by stormy waters, a reminder that nature is nature! However, the staff's handling of the situation was exemplary. Instead of canceling, they arranged a wonderful boating experience along the gorgeous coastline. We spent the time cruising, soaking in the stunning Costa Rican landscape, and enjoying a relaxing dip in the warm, clear ocean water. It was a perfect demonstration of the Pura Vida spirit—turning an obstacle into an enjoyable memory. Final Impression The vast majority of our stay was blessed with cooperative weather, only enhancing the breathtaking landscape that Costa Rica offers. Having seen a different facet of the island this time, I can attest that the Andaz Papagayo resort truly leverages its prime location. For travelers who prioritize luxury, top-tier service, and a truly unforgettable backdrop for their event, this resort is an absolute must.

Amazing stay at the Andaz! Great Outdoor activities!!
We had such a great time here. From the moment we arrived, everyone at the hotel was super friendly and welcoming. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The property is beautiful, surrounded by nature and really peaceful. It’s the perfect mix of luxury and Costa Rican charm. We also booked some tours and our airport transfer with nomadtourscr, and everything went perfectly. Ronald was our guide and he was awesome, super nice, funny, and knew so much about the area. We did the rainforest tour, Buena Vista Adventure, and some ocean activities. All of them were really fun and well organized.

Friendliest staff you'll meet at a resort
This was our third time visiting Andaz Papagayo (first time with our 9 month old baby). We were reminded why we loved this resort so much and why we'll be back for a fourth + time in the future. The warmth and hospitality of the staff are truly unrivaled. The scenery, food, and wildlife are incredible, but it's the people that make the stay so enjoyable and keeping us coming back.
