Experience your own all-inclusive private island escape on Ambergris Cay, Turks and Caicos. Just a short 20 min. flight on a private air transfer from Providenciales Int’l Airport (PLS), Ambergris Cay is a secret pearl on the beautiful necklace of islands that is Turks and Caicos. Reserved exclusively for a select few, Ambergris Cay entices with a serene natural beauty, from the endless turquoise blue waters of the Caicos Banks to starry nights with stunning views of the constellations unobstructed by the glare of civilization. Whether you seek a discreet peaceful retreat to unwind and disconnect or prefer to stay active.

Not to be confused with the similar-sounding Ambergris CAYE in Belize, Ambergris Cay is located about 600 miles southeast of Miami, Florida and 100 miles north of the Dominican Republic. The island sits on the southeast corner of the string of Turks and Caicos Islands that surrounds the world-famous Caicos Banks, whose shallow turquoise blue waters and surrounding reefs are so brilliant, they can be seen from space. Just east of the island is the Grand Turk Passage that descends to nearly 7,000 ft. with ideal conditions for fishing, whale watching and wall diving.

Ambergris Cay has been a private island since its purchase in 1811 and saw little development until the late 20th century when modern infrastructure was put into place, catering to an upscale clientele looking for privacy and rustic Caribbean charm. The island has the largest private runway in the Caribbean at 5,700 ft. in length, which allows resident homeowners and guests to fly in with private planes. Reverse osmosis water purification and independent electrical generation systems allow the island to live “off the grid” yet guests can stay connected with phone and cell phone service as well as high-speed internet access. The island is committed to sustainable development and the preservation of a natural Caribbean environment.

    Amazing Stay!

We had an amazing time here! The beach bungalows are luxurious, modern, very clean and had the best panoramic views of the water - perhaps one of the top accommodations we have stayed in! The wonderful people who work here help make your stay extra memorable. Special shout out to our butler Gary, Ashanti the yoga instructor (a must do while you are there), Chef Srinivas for ensuring I always had great dining options with all my food allergies, the ladies at the spa for the relaxing massages, and Alejandro, Evelyn, Shanel, Pedro, Miguel, Franz and Ta (she makes the best espresso martini). I highly recommend doing the tennis lesson with Jerome too. The fitness centre was also top-notch.

Second time and it still is beyond comparison . Amazing paradise .

This was our second trip, having been here two years ago for a wedding anniversary, now back for a birthday. It was as amazing as we remembered the first time. It has been found, so there were many more guests onsite than last time , but it still gives you ample privacy and time on the island where you don’t see many people around . The island is beautiful and rugged, although much more construction means it will be busier soon. Local wildlife was amazing , the rock iguanas and the bird sightings and well as all the ocean life , it’s a true natural paradise . We stayed in a new bungalow with the best possible views and your own private heated pool and outdoor shower. New hammocks were a great touch , housekeeping was impeccable . Our only disappointment this year was the food. Last time we met Chef Carmen and every meal was exceptional . This year I’m not sure there was a chef and food was ok, but we were so spoiled last time that we did have more expectation . It would be nice to see a chef back who mingles with guests and provides an exceptional food experience . That’s said , there were still plenty of options for meals and good meals overall. Staff were as warm and gracious as always , attention to detail sets this place apart. Thank you for a wonderful birthday week. Don’t miss out on the spa , best massages ever, and also make sure to visit little ambergris cay. This place is heaven on earth . We hope to come back again next year :)

Must visit it’s like no other place 🌴

This place is absolutely stunning , the water and views everywhere you look is breathtaking. The service is amazing everyone is so nice and accommodating. James our butler made my 40th birthday my best birthday yet. He decorated my room , found my favorite drink that isn’t in stock here , and always did the little things like turn our golf chart around and provide first class service. The host was such a joy and all our waiters were outstanding with great personalities . The tiki boat was my favorite ❤️ and golf chart rides exploring the island. The iguanas are harmless and charming i’m going to miss them . Booking our next trip NOW. Thanks James - till next time ☀️🌴

    Incredible week like no other

This was an incredible trip for us. We have been to many Caribbean destinations, including several trips to grace bay. The only other place we could personally compare this to is Jumby bay Antigua. This is better. There was not a lot of communication ahead of our arrival so we felt a little anxious about getting the transfer flight but outside on the curb at the providenciales airport the first guy we told we were going to Ambergris got us a cab quickly and we were off. The private airport is beautiful. The private plane ride was uneventful and very enjoyable. When we landed, we were met by the welcoming team, and shortly thereafter our assigned Butler, Saw. Saw brought us out and gave us our assigned golf cart and showed us to our villa for the week. We stayed in Villa number seven. The villa itself is well appointed and beautiful with an incredible view of the ocean and a very nice private pool. When they say they will heat it up to whatever temperature you request they are not kidding after a few days we wanted it to be hot so we could go in it at night because we weren’t spending a lot of time in the pool during the day and they did it immediately. The only Downside to the room which is just nitpicking is the lights are somewhat difficult to operate and I feel like there should be some snacks in the room that are replenished every day because otherwise you have to drive somewhere to eat at a designated meal time. You could order room service or a snack, but it would be nice to grab a couple cookies or candy bar or nuts just to take the edge off between meals We really enjoyed, exploring the island, seeing all of the lizards, ruins, and beaches. I wish when we had arrived they gave us a better rundown of what the individual beaches were like because I feel like even though we were there for a week I am sure we missed out on some opportunities to a nice, romantic beach There were not a lot of people, but at every meal there were enough people to make it seem like a friendly fun atmosphere We found the food to be delicious and we are pretty picky foodies. Portions are very small but by the second day we just decided to order two entrées at each meal and we are both small people. No one even batted an eyelash when we would order two meals. Saw was incredible, very accommodating, always smiling, and there is no way you would go without anything you needed for more than a half an hour with him around. I was at a loss by the end of the week because I am normally a very healthy tipper and reading all the reviews before we left said that this was a non-tipping island. We did not find that to be true, and saw people tipping at lunches and dinners and other events. I would have brought more cash had I known. I guess it is personal choice, but I prefer to overtip rather than under tip for good service. The all inclusive makes it a little difficult to know what is right and what might come across wrong The activities there were very laid-back, but you could essentially do whatever you wanted they would accommodate you with kayaking sailing, Pickleball lessons and the offshore excursions to the hangover bar The consensus from both of us is that the hangover bar is an excursion not to be missed. Even if you don’t drink you can enjoy the ride out which is one of the nicest rides I have ever been on and you can walk around in the water for two hours on an essentially deserted island and clear Blue Water. We loved it so much we did it twice. The Pickleball lesson was awesome. The pro was full of energy and passion for the game. It translated immediately to us and we had so much fun that I wish we did it twice. I aggravated my back, so I was unable to go on a fishing excursion offshore, which is my only regret for the trip, but I guess we will have to go back for that! Lastly, I will say, without exception, every single person at Ambergris was so thoughtful, interested in you as people, kind, funny, considerate and extremely respectful. They noticed everything. If you didn’t get a drink promptly, they noticed. If you didn’t eat something on your plate, they wanted to know if you didn’t like it or if there was something else they could get you. They were so attentive to every detail I was shocked at times. The people that work there made the trip. Yes it is a beautiful deserted island but I have been to a lot of places and when the people seem put out, it makes for a very, very long week. I would love to mention everybody by name, but I am not good with names and afraid I will leave somebody out that was an incredible part of our week so I tried to tell the people while I was there how they improved our trip immensely We don’t go back to a lot of places, but I do believe we will be back to Ambergris
