Jun 12, 2025Good all-inclusive resort, fun for all ages
This resort was good overall considering the price. If you want higher quality food or more selection you can pay more elsewhere. Also the alcoholic drinks were weak and the quality of how they were mixed by the bar tenders were very inconsistent. The mixers were very sweet and artificial. Some liquors had name brands available but most were unknown/generic brands. The rooms were good in general BUT the way teh 2nd fool of the buildings are built you hear sound from the unit behind you - so lack of privacy or you hear your neighbors! There are 3 pools: a kids pool with water features, an adult pool with a bridge across it and an active pool nearest the beach which has some activities and music playing. these were nice in general. The beach has sand and is nice to enter to swim with some amount of sea grass and some larger pebbles at the entrance. Water shoes are best for people who are not so adventurous with bare feet. Cozumel overall is very different than the mainland with limited sandy beaches so this resort is one of the better ones with some sandy beach. For example the neighboring resort to the south Occidental (same parent company) has no beach, just a sea wall and a pier for dive boats. Regarding scuba diving, we used the on-site Pro Dive shop. This was convenient but overall disappointing for us who are advanced divers. Their boats take 18 divers plus 2 dive masters plus 2 crew so the approx 45' boat is very crowded. and they only allow max depth of 60' (70' max if you push them) which is not deep enough for many of the classic wall dives in Cozumel. They are tailoring to inexperienced divers. The dive masters themselves were good. But the office staff lies to you to. For instance we wanted Devil's Throat and made that clear from 3 months in advance. when we were there they changed their story about the minimum number of divers which was 6 when we booked 3 months prior and also when we arrived. When I recruited 3 more divers to reach the limit of 6 they lied and said the minimum was 10 all along. I even showed my emails with the shop reservations lady from 3 months before showing 6 but then they changed the excuse to not having a dive master avialable or a boat. It's clear they NEVER intended to take us to Devil's Throat. so be careful with their lies about anything! For this review I am NOT reducing the overall score due to my disappointment with Pro Dive. I have a separate 1-star review for Pro Dive with more details.Here I give 4 stars for Allegro the resort itself. I just want to warn any divers with these comments.

The place is great I had some good food. The buffet is very complete and the food is high quality The room was perfect. Although my room was directly across the theater and at night the music was loud, the group playing was really good. I almost got out of bed and walked down to the thater to have some good time, but I was way too tired and I needed to get up real early, so.. duty comes first. It was a great stay

Very nice resort, pools, activities and bars are all excellent.
Overall the resort is very good. Check in experience was a pain (hot, long wait). The activities crew is absolutely fantastic (JD, Diego, Arby, and David). Pools are fantastic as well. Rooms might be a touch small, but are comfortable and in good condition. Would highly recommend.

Our group of 20 will definitely be back! We wish we could have stayed longer! We enjoyed the entertainment staff and kids club the most! Beach was beautiful and clean, no seaweed!!!!! Can't wait to go back!

We had a group of 20 and had an absolute blast! With our group of age ranges from 11 months to 50s, everyone had the best time! The entertainment staff, shout out to Arbie, JD, and Diego, literally made our stay 1000 times better! Chihani at Kids Club had our kiddos in tears when we had to say goodbye because they thoroughly enjoyed and loved their time with her! We can't wait to go back!!!
