    Cancellation Policy Unchanged Despite Pandemic Travel Prohibitions

    Unlike most resorts globally, the Alexandra has refused to modify their cancellation policy to accommodate travel restrictions (and bans) arising from the current pandemic crisis. We were required to pay the full amount for our reservation in advance and the Alexandra is keeping half of it despite the fact that we are no longer permitted to travel. This reaction to what is clearly an extraordinary situation is, in my view, reprehensible. As they say ...what goes around comes around. Travelers may want to consider this when they are planing future trips after this crisis has subsided.

    Best 50th Anniversary Celebration Ever! A bit of Paradise!

    My family of 6 adults and 2 children, ages 4 and 7 booked an all inclusive at Alexandra Resort planning a celebration of a lifetime. They totally fulfilled every expectation. From check in to check out everything was Awesome. Between us we had 2 king rooms and an ocean view suite. All rooms were updated, clean and spacious. Housekeeping was very attentive. We had a bottle of wine and an Happy Anniversary waiting for us from Erika in Guest Services. All food services were very good. I miss my daily fresh omelets, and the large variety of breakfast foods. We loved the Beach Jerk Grill and Pizzalukka for lunch. Conch Fritters and Fish tacos are a must have. Dinner choices were plentiful. We had the option to dine at two other sister resorts, but never wanted to leave. Bar services were top notch, with top shelf liquor available. Now for the beach, beautiful clean sand, plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and tables. Beautiful clear blue water. Clean Beach towels always available. The paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear and hobie cats were an added bonus. Never sailed, not a problem. Awesome Staff will take you. Pool is large and spotless. Activities and entertainment staff were friendly, outgoing, and very inviting. Plenty of activities for adults and children. For the children they were treated like royalty by all. The kids lunch area a definite plus. Fresh popcorn, snow cones, cookies, chicken tenders and fries are always a hit. We loved The Alexandra Resort and the staff. When they heard we were leaving they made sure their mascot Sandy was in the office to say goodbye to the children. This Resort is definitely on our list of returns. Beautiful family memories were made here.

    Alexandra Resort-Turks and Caicos

    Not sure where to begin. We arrived at 12:45PM, room not ready until 3pm for check in so we were told to go get food and they would come find us. About 2PM we learn that there is a lady that went to the front desk, said she had the coronavirus, Covid-19 and they shut down the lobby. Therefore all bags are locked in there. I understand this, I get this is out of their control, I understand they must do this for the safety of everyone. So it was 5PM that we were able to get our bags and check in. We lost a whole day. We paid $5,200 total for 4 people for all inclusive for 4 nights, we took off work early to get there early Thursday to enjoy the day on the beach. I asked what they would do for this and they said nothing. It's not their fault or responsibility. I UNDERSTAND that but it is their CHOICE to do something, ANYTHING to show they appreciate or business and $5,200.They could have offered an upgrade, spa credit, bottle of wine ($10) anything, and they said they would do nothing. Only after I said it was my birthday, they said they would leave a bottle of wine and strawberries in on room on the next day. Again they wanted to make it CLEAR this gesture was NOT b/c of anything Coronavirus, Covid-19 scare. Side note I called in advanced to see if we could have a bottle of wine and strawberries in our room upon arrive for my birthday and they told me for $50 additional dollars, I said no think you, we already paid $5,200, and I would not pay $50 for a bottle of $10 wine and 6 strawberries. The beach was beautiful, one of the most beautiful I have been to over the years including Mexico, Hawaii, Aruba, Montserrat, (BOT) in the Caribbean, Jamaica, Bahamas. The room, very dated, we have a 1 bedroom, oceanfront, again you can't beat the view, but the room, mold in bathroom, showers walls, sink needed repair, sprayed water everywhere, not super clean even upon checkin, room had setting so it could only get to 72 degrees, was hot at night, not a 4 star resort. Now let's talk the staff, some were friendly, MANY were NOT. The spa Ladies were LOVELY, Jessica at the breakfast place was also wonderful but there were several that were not, rude, make faces, roll eyes, like it was a chore to have us there and "serve" us. The food here also very sub par, way below my expectations, they say it was a 4 star resort but I think more like 2 or 3, maybe I was spoiled as I recently returned from Fairmont Mayakoba, Playa del Carmen, Q.R., Mexico, 5 star and this was THE BEST trip, service, people I have ever experienced in my life, but when you pay $5,200 for all inclusive and are told it's a 4 star you expect a certain level of quality and service of people and maybe just general basic human kindness, but this was NOT the case at Alexander. One night we went to dinner at their sister resort, Beach House for dinner at Kitchen 218. We were told we could not get a reservation here, that they were booked, and we had to call only between 7-9 am to make a reservation, well an employee, Love at Alexander was able to get us in at 6pm, so we got there. During our 3 hour dinner, there were OVER 20 tables OPEN!!! No one came, Again, we were told they were full. Just unbelievable for us to understand. The hotels were WAY below capacity b/c of Covid 19-Coronavirus. What I can say is the sweet waitress we had here was just lovely, so nice, accommodating, professional, just night and day compared to the staff at Alexander. Like a whole different level of service, brought our a special birthday and candle for us for dessert. One day we went to the Blue Haven, the other sister property on the marina. Again like night and day for service and friendliness, as we are walking to get beach chair's we were greeted by staff with menu's and asking what they can get us to eat and drink on the beach. Besides the beautiful beach and ocean here, I would NOT ever go back to the Alexander.

    Booking + Cancelling Has Been Awful

    There are things that are happening around the spread of COVID-19 that are beyond anyone's control. I am a reasonable person. I understand that. I have an upcoming trip planned for this hotel and I HAD to cancel today because no one expected the DEPARTMENT OF STATE to issues a GLOBAL LEVEL 4: DO NOT TRAVEL ADVISORY. The staff when I called directly said that there was NOTHING they could do -- not help me cancel, not help me cancel with fees, not rebook, NOTHING. When I had AMEX call on my behalf TWICE, they KINDLY kept HALF of my money. This is extenuating circumstances. There are people all over the world that can come to this hotel that are not experiencing travel bans. If this is how you treat paying customers that would love to come to your hotel under better circumstances, I can only imagine how you treat your staff or natives of the island. Never in my life have I been treated with such lack of compassion.

    Beautiful Resort!! Paradise!!

    I just returned from a weeks vacation with my husband and we LOVED The Alexandra! First impression was the warm inviting response from the hotel front desk. We arrived at 10:30am and had a Rum Punch in our hands at 10:31! Brown gave us our tour of the property and showed us everything we needed to know. Our room wasn’t quite ready because we were very early for check in but we were able to change and store our luggage in the lobby and begin to use all the amenities. Our room was clean, beautiful & spacious! We had a beautiful balcony with a large ocean view, a kitchen, washer and dryer which was extremely useful. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, clean and well looked after. The pool was clean and larger than we anticipated. Food was never an issue. I have a shrimp and dairy allergy and for the most part, the menus and buffet were easy to navigate. Only request ...having allergen signs on buffet cards would be really helpful. Either way, staff usually were able to find answers for me. I cannot say enough great things about the staff. Jessica always had a smile. Maria and Nicola were our favorite servers, loved them!The entertainment crew Janaya, Raheim, Luigi, Yoshi and everyone else always had us laughing, dancing and enjoying our time. Marcson, Davidson, Chidley and Marcus made us great drinks and worked really hard. The beach was spacious and absolutely beautiful. We booked a snorkeling excursion through the hotel and it was very reasonable and a must do while you are here! We absolutely loved our vacation and were sad to leave paradise. But we have found our place and will be back for sure! Thank you for your hospitality 🙏
