    Exceeded expectations

Overall Alexandria exceeded our expectations especially with the taste of the food and the friendly staff. We stayed next door at Beaches last year which failed to meet our expectations. We love the beach here so we came back to try a different all inclusive resort. The positives start with they have a friendly and attentive staff. The food tasted great. The beach chairs were cushioned, very comfortable and most importantly were available. All this we did not experience next door at Beaches. The room was very large and comfortable with a washer and dryer which is really a game changer. The negatives, they make you wear a ribbon/small key card on your wrist that you can’t remove. I found this Bizarre and unbelievably annoying. The beach towels are not brought out until 8am and sometimes much later. As good as the main meals tasted, the deserts offered left a lot to be desired. When we come back, Alexandria will definitely be our top option for all inclusive. They might not be as grande and luxurious as their neighbor, but it beats them out in all the right places.

    Girls Getaway

Five childhood friends and I celebrated our 60th birthday at the resort. It's a quick/easy ride from the airport. The grounds are well maintained and our rooms were beautiful, clean, and had great views. Our room (4501) had both a view of the pool and the ocean from our spacious deck. There was a full kitchen, dining/living area, 1.5 baths and a comfortable king bedroom. The food was very good and plentiful. The shuttle between the two resorts was a treat and we utilized both. The staff: Cheeky, Kimron, Lettuce (Romaine), Sylvia, and everyone were amazing. Friendly, helpful, and fun. The entertainment was great and with everything, guest participation makes it even better. Fire & Ice was a group favorite (at the Blue Haven)....would recommend without reservation.

Alexandra All-Inclusive resort pros and cons

So let me start by saying the staff (90% anyway) were a 10/10. I want to give a shout out specifically to Majorie, Wiley, Rosaline, Mary Cryss, Sonise and Madeline. They went above and beyond in their service and I was so grateful to see their smiling faces everyday. 1) Rooms; So our 1st room smelled of mold and mildew and looked out at weeds. They did move us luckily to another room which was much better. However there were NO LAMPS in the room which was extremely annoying. I asked for a lamp to I could read or see at night and was told by the front desk that "These are timeshares so we are not able to bring you a lamp" However we did get a knock on the door 2 minutes before checkout with lamps in hand (No bulbs though) which was pretty funny. The best part of the rooms were how incredibly clean they were. The housekeeping staff was a 10/10. The rooms were fully remodeled however there was NO HOT WATER. Lukewarm water at best. Apparently that was how all the rooms were in the entire resort per other guests. There are washer/dryers but no soap so bring your own. 2) The food was maybe a 3 our of 5 at best. When ordering lunch at the Turquoise Cafe we never, not once, had the food come out correctly. Pretty much any change in the order came without the correct change. They ran out of Coconut milk for the coffee on the resort so that was not available for the entire week we were there except the 1st day. 3) The gym was pretty sad. It was dirty, there was no sanitizing wipes to wipe down the equipment, which clearly hadn't been cleaned by staff for some time. No towels available and no water available. They should invest in a water filtration system so they don't add to the plastic bottle usage/garbage epidemic on the planet. We did mention all this to the front desk but they didn't do anything. We had to ask several times before they finally got some water in there. The equipment was just ok, but it wasn't set up in the space very well thought out so it was awkward if there were more than 4 people in there at any time. 3 of the 6 cardio machines didn't work or work properly. 4) The lobby is sad and depressing. It didn't not give a very good first impression when driving up or checking in. The bellhop was great, handed us a cocktail while we waited for our turn and was very friendly. But the entire complex had a kinda 3-star-at-best feel. My understanding is they have recently been doing a lot of remodeling so maybe it's just a little tired from all the work. Hopefully the lobby gets a refresher at some point too. 5) Events and beach was great. The staff was awesome in engaging with the guests with games, and different kinds of activities. There was a lot of beach chair so even though there was a lot of people you could always find a good chair. If you have kids (we don't) this place is good. But while we were there, there were several guests who clearly traveled together and they just let their kids run rampant. I blame the parents for their behavior, which was not good, but it was pretty annoying most of the time to have a bunch of kids running around with zero supervision. All in all, we had a great time but the one thing that saved this trip for us was being able to go to the sister resort, Blue Haven. That place was a 10/10 and we would only go back to that resort the next time we head to Turks and Caicos. I will be writing a separate review for them and their AMAZING staff, food and facilities. (Huge shout out to Gillian, she was THE BEST!!) If your looking for a 5-star resort, head to Blue Haven. If your looking for a peaceful vacation with good food, and beautiful facilities, head to Blue Haven.

Making Family here at The Alexandra

Tasha, Barbie, Shaq, Farrar, Mary and so many others were amazing to us! We love them and can’t wait to come back! If you want to be treated like family, this is the place to go! Even in the rain, this place and the workers will keep you smiling and laughing while enjoying great food and company.
