Average at Best

I would say the biggest complaint I would have is the unfriendly and inattentive staff who would cater to the locals while ignoring the guest. Happy we elected to opt for the all-inclusive package because the prices at the bars and restaurants are outrageous. I understand the hotel was hit hard by the hurricane a few years ago but they still have a lot of work to do.

Nice property, but weird "all-inclusive-ness"

Wonderful beach, 10 meters from the window. Tip: ask for the 1st floor. This way, you'll just walk out of the balcony and jump into the water. The view from the 2nd floor is a tad better, but you'll have to spend an extra minute (the horror) going out of the main door and walking down the stairs. We got slightly affected by Dorian the Hurricane: one night featured high waves and lightning. They cleaned up the beach super fast on the next day. The room is good and spacious. The safe deposit box is free. The bathroom is clean and mold-free. One issue we had was with the AC. One night, it turned off after 11pm. All repairmen were gone. We had to spend an uncomfortable night, although the ceiling fan certainly helped. In the morning it was working again, but then it turned off on the next evening. A repairman came in, shut off the circuit breaker, turned it back on, and viola. I wish I knew that method on the first night. The AC was fine afterwards. Anyways -- that's why I'm giving 4 stars for room comfort. The main issue we had was with food. We chose the all-inclusive option, but other than for breakfast, there is no buffet like at the other all-inclusive hotels we stayed at. You have to select from the menu and wait while they cook it; in the end, you sign the receipt. The same applies to bars: you sign for every drink. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to leave tips. Food selection was not great: almost no vegetables, fruit only for breakfast (and no papaya), fish didn't always taste good. Not all dishes on the menu were available: I've been trying to get a steak from one of the lunch restaurants, and it wasn't there THE ENTIRE WEEK. Several times, my wife and/or daughter would decide to go without a lunch or dinner and just eat nuts from a "trail mix" baggie. Me personally -- I'm omnivorous, and I found the selection fine, even though it was narrower than usual. I was however annoyed with constant wait. If you are a healthy food aficionado, I suggest you don't go for their all-inclusive package. Nevertheless, it was a great vacation overall.

Beautiful Island!

Beautiful beaches on a bay. Water is amazing as are the views. Decent snorkeling right off the resort beach on one side. Pools were great although the infinity pool is tiny so we couldn’t spend any time there due to lack of room. Resort recently renovated due to the hurricane so was nicely updated. Restaurant choices were limited and pretty far apart - we never got down to one of the daytime restaurants. Beware if you are an all-inclusive guest - you may get tired of the food options due to limited options. The food was pretty good overall. Our room was right on the beach which was great. However, we had ongoing issues with the A/C where it was clear they automatically turn up the temperature at night and our room would become stifling. In the morning it would suddenly start working again. We complained and asked for maintenance several times but it never resolved. Admittedly, we didn’t go to the manager of the resort over it. We did deal with her regarding another serious issue we had with a member of the waitstaff and she was empathetic, responsive and took care of it immediately. Overall, we would return here, but perhaps make some tweaks to the plan we select.

Best all inclusive

We enjoyed our stay very much. The service, staff, delicious food and heavy pour drinks were a welcome treat for an all inclusive. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but clean and just steps from the beach. The waves lulled us to sleep and woke us in the morning. The food was top notch. Tuna tar tar, tuna poke bowl and coconut shrimp were a few of our favorites. No watered down drinks at this place!!! All the bartenders were great. The water sports activities were included and it was nice to snorkel right off the beach. Overall we loved it and would go back again.
