As a frequent traveler to the Mayan Riviera, this was our first stay at Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa. Overall, the resort offers many appealing qualities, depending on one’s vacation preferences. We opted for the Preferred Club (PC) status. While the added benefits were somewhat limited, primarily an à la carte breakfast option and access to the indoor Preferred Club lounge, the standout feature was undoubtedly the Preferred Club pool area. This pool is beautifully designed, secluded among lush jungle foliage and offers a peaceful atmosphere complete with a swim-up bar and Bali beds, which were a wonderful bonus. The PC concierge staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Guests should note that Bali beds at the PC pool must be reserved between 9:00–10:00 a.m. the day prior. Occasionally, beds are released around 10:00 a.m. the same day if there are no-shows. The main pool, centrally located in the resort, is visually stunning but extremely busy and loud. While this may appeal to guests seeking a lively atmosphere, we were very grateful to have the Preferred Club area for relaxation. Although no reservations are required, dining requires some planning. We recommend arriving at à la carte restaurants before the 6:00 p.m. opening, as later arrivals often resulted in seating times of 7:30 p.m. or later. Bordeaux, in particular, is a two-hour dining experience. Unfortunately, this restaurant was also closed unexpectedly on two evenings during our stay. Additionally, bottled wine was sometimes placed on dinner tables but was not included, even with Preferred Club status...which was somewhat confusing. Wi-Fi throughout the resort was excellent. I had upgraded my mobile coverage for this trip but found it unnecessary due to the strong and consistent resort Wi-Fi. The spa experience was a highlight. The spa is beautifully designed, surrounded by foliage and the hydrotherapy circuit is a lovely addition. I highly recommend the relaxation massage and specifically request Nayiba. Her 30+ years of experience truly showed. The treatment was exceptional and well worth the cost. One disappointment occurred on our final full day, when tile cutting began directly outside our suite early in the morning, creating significant noise. Unfortunately, this continued onto our patio area as tree cutting with chainsaws was also taking place nearby. While maintenance is understandable, the lack of notice and timing detracted from our experience. The staff throughout the resort and spa deserve special recognition. They were consistently friendly, professional, knowledgeable and genuinely welcoming. In summary, Dreams Sapphire is a lovely beachfront resort located approximately 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport. It offers great food, spacious rooms, excellent Wi-Fi, a lively main pool atmosphere and outstanding staff. For travelers seeking a more traditional five-star luxury experience in the Mayan Riviera, I would personally recommend Valentin Imperial or Excellence Riviera.

We just got back from our first stay at Dreams Sapphire and it was amazing! I read a handful of critical reviews on here beforehand so I was going in with a tampered level of excitement but our trip exceeded my expectations! The grounds are much more beautiful in person than some photos and videos I have seen.. People have complained about the seaweed but I saw a guy out every morning before sunrise driving back and forth on a tractor to clear all the seaweed. The stretch of beach that the resort is on is well-taken care of and if you walk in either direction on the beach away from the resort, you’ll notice how well Dreams keeps their beach looking clean and beautiful! Also read mixed reviews on the food, but everything we ate there was delicious.. Zero complaints there. If you are Preferred Club, you can go to Bluewater Grill for breakfast and we went there almost every day. The staff was amazing, the food was amazing, and the VIEW was unbelievable. The one restaurant they have overlooking the ocean and it’s especially beautiful in the morning with the sun coming through. But if you’re not Preferred Club, I believe you can go there for lunch for those amazing views as well. It was a bit chilly when we were there, so not a lot of people were in the pool because they keep pool temps pretty low. I’m sure it would feel refreshing on a hot day, but it was too cold to go in most of the time we were there.. But the hot tub (which isn’t all that hot) was PACKED. Overall, an amazing week in paradise!

Great resort
Wonderful resort nice not to have to take golf carts. Everything was very close. Beach and pools Service was incredible. Many waiters Was easy to get drinks and not have to wait. The food was very high standard. Only comment is the pools were a little cool at this time of year.I’m sure they’ll heat up given the extreme weather that we had this January

Nice hotel with friendly staff
It’s an older hotel but very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was good. If you go preferred it wasn’t anything that was special .
