Imagine this scenario: you, nearly asleep, are listening to waves gently lap up on the beach (the only noise in the tranquil quiet), then you open your eyes to see turquoise waves, a brilliant azure sky and a lush mountainous landscape in the distance. Suddenly, you realize your drink is empty. You blink, then look up to see a beach waiter holding a brand, new refreshing, oh-so-necessary beverage. You accept, then settle back to resume your Epic Chill.

A great honeymoon experience!
Dreams Playa Bonita was a fantastic honeymoon choice! We went during their "rainy" season, which was only about 2 hours of rain a day - perfect for an afternoon nap. The beaches were clean and the pools seemed to be as well, although we didn't end up spending any time in those. For the food, they had a lot of dining options and the meals were always delicious. I have food sensitivities which did make it a little difficult to find the right food each time, but with a salad bar and multiple menu options at each restaurant, I was typically able to find something that worked for me.
If you decide to visit, you definitely need to check out the jungle tour! Alexander was our tour guide, he's been there for 15 years and shares interesting knowledge about the jungles of Panama. When he found out my husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon (and their anniversary for the couple that was with us on the tour), he took our picture and surprised us with decorations and a framed photo of the picture in our room. He truly made our stay!! On the jungle tour itself, we were able to see sloths, monkeys and other animals, and the best part is we only had to walk down the driveway of the hotel to get there since it's right next to the jungle.
The resort works with Panamazing tour group and they were fantastic as well. I would definitely suggest setting up a shuttle from the airport to the resort and back - it was well worth the expense! Apparently taxis don't have specific rates in Panama so they may take advantage of tourists. We also used Panamazing to visit the Panama canal and the Old City - a MUST see if you love history, architecture, and beautiful colors.
The only area the resort could've improved was the cleanliness of the bedding. Although they definitely seemed like they were washed, our comforter did have some stains on it.
If you visit, invest in 3oz bottles of sunscreen and bug spray (non-aerosol). The gift shop was a little bit pricey and the bottles were bigger so we couldn't take them home with us.
We would love to go back and visit again in the future. It was a beautiful resort with friendly staff and great amenities!
Very nice property, excellent service, Jose, our concierge was very helpful. He helped book our excursions which were great & fairly priced. Food was good, French restaurant was by far out favorite & I loved having a latte in the Coco Cafe. Oceans food was good but service was a little confused ,& everyone in our party complained that their food was just warm, not hot.Room was nice with great view. Loved being able to see the ships waiting to go thru the Canal.
Dreams was exactly what I expect with an all inclusive resort. Buffet was typical resort buffet. Night dining was great although we never made it to the seafood restaurant. The pool was great, the pool bar had great bartenders. Resort was EMPTY. There were multiple days we were the only people in the pool which was great some days but others it would have been nice to mingle with others. The “night club” was SKETCHY. There was never anyone working the bar and there was never anyone in there. I mean NO ONE. The music was insanely loud, especially for being the only people in there. The bar was dirty and could use some upgrading, including alcohol selections. Housekeeping did a great job, the views were amazing and the staff was very helpful at al times.
Oh my where do I start. The food was horrible, service horrible, rooms were not clean, no night life? Bar closes early , just horrible and expensive. I was so disappointed. Please don’t make the same mistake as we did. I feel like I was cheated.

whats difference between preferred club and deluxe room5 answers
What is included in Preferred room?
4 years, 48 months ago
bobg
You can upgrade to the Preferred Club that includes rooms/suites with Swim-out, ocean views, club lounge, bathrobe and slippers, pillow menu, complimentary newspapers in English and Spanish in the rooms and hydrotherapy access once per stay, daily continental breakfast along with afternoon hot/cold hors d'oeuvres, exquisite desserts and fine liquors all served in the lounge. If you need any help booking, please call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
I don't know about inside the actual room, but the only difference I saw was a preferred pool and bar (which we went to without being preferred with no trouble) Also the French Restaurant was included. A couple we talked to with preferred said there was no difference in their room.
Brooker
SAME PIECE OF **** MAYBE ONE WITH 10 TYPES OF BUGS THE OTHER ONE 20.
AIDABDO
Just spent a week there 11/13-11/20 and we did pay the extra for the preferred club and have to say, save your money. They have a lounge which had very, very little n it for snack or drinks. Anyone was allowed n the preferred pool and bar, we talked to several there and they did pay for preferred to use it. We had nothing else extra.
Swanee86
Preferred Club members have a small members-only pool area (which was mostly unused while we were there) and dinner at their Bordeaux Restaurant (which is a nominal fee for all other guests)...aside from that, nothing else different. All other resort restaurants are included for free to all guests.
PedroP
The ocean views are there even from the first floor which is considered partial view. The prefered and Felix have rooms in 4 and 5th floors. We had ocean view and were given a 3rd floor view but changed it to the 4th floor. They also have a more adult private pool. That’s it. In my opinion not too much more for what you pay.

You may want to contact the resort prior to arrival, but please let the front desk know upon arrival. And notify the restaurants so they can be aware of the allergy. Please check with the resort directly for the most up to date information regarding food selection.
TimCC
yes all the items on the buffet have signs telling you what it is and if it is gluten free
seena
Plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options at the buffet restaurants. All other restaurants offer nice salad bars and many choices.

There are no accommodations for guests with food allergies. I have Celiac and made a few guesses as to what I could and couldn't eat. Language barrier makes it difficult. Lots of vegetarian options and variety.

Whats the beach like? Large? Plenty of chairs? White sand?10 answers
3 years, 48 months ago
Texas
the beach is nice. lots of chairs and there is an island that you can wade out to that has palm trees and chairs also.
seena
Beach is small, check the pic on Google Maps. Chairs are available, but you have to be an early bird, it will be hard to find some after 9 am. Sand is white, but if you are looking for a real Caribbean beach - go to Grand Oasis Cancun and Pyramid (7 miles) from Grand Oasis Palm. If will have much more fun!!!
Ashley76
There are 2 small beaches near the large pool, and two larger ones to the left if looking at the ocean. Poseidon beach is beautiful, white sand, chairs, pedal boats/kayaks available, bar, BBQ hut and restaurant.
mkbc
Very nice beach. Large, plenty of chairs and nearly white sand. Some seaweed but staff does great job of cleaning it off the beach and you don't feel it in the water. Lots of people but never feels crowded.
privateshrink
Very large, plenty of chairs as long as you don't mind being far from the water. There are few chairs past the ropes by the water. Sand is great. No rocks.
stinker
The main attraction is Panama beach with the sublime, teal waters from the Pacific. You can always look at TripAdvisor for beach pictures for more information.
TimCC
The beach is large and shared with another resort. There are some chairs set for use. The sand near the resort is nice. However, there is a very large tide. At high tide, the water comes almost all the way to the resort grass. At low tide, the shore is about 100 yards away and it becomes very rocky and the sand has a very high shell content, making it rough. Very few people were on the beach while we were there other than to walk. If you look at their photos, the tide actually goes out much further than their swim bouys.
Tanners
Just be prepared to use the pool the beach was not good at all.
Teresa78
Not a beach for swimming.
Akil
FORGET ABOUT THE BEACH AND THE OCEAN. DIRTY, MUDDY AND STONY. WHITE SAND BUT NOT DESIGN FOR USING BECAUSE YOU
PRACTICALLY CAN NOT USE THE OCEAN . POOL ONLY. YOU JUST LOOK AT THE OCEAN BUT USE THE POOL BUGS INCLUDED!!!

As of the writing (April 2018), no...however, lots of construction going on is Panama City and restoration in Casco Antiguo (historic district) which makes travel to and from the resort a bit challenging.

3 years, 48 months ago

The resort is about 25 miles from Panama City.

I am not sure of mileage, but the resort is about 45 minutes drive from the airport, and 20 minutes from Panama City.
beachknut
10-15 DEPENDS OLD CITY OR NEW. TAXI IS EXPENSIVE. THEY HAVE UBER IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A CONNECTION IN THIS STUPID, CHEAP AND HORRIBLE RESORT. THEY JUST COLLECT THE MONEY. DON'T SPEND EVEN A PENNEY FOR ANYTHING. TOURIST RIPOFF.
AIDABDO
There are 2 cities. Old and New. It's from 10-20 minutes depends where you are going. They are 5-10 minutes apart. From the resort to the new city was almost 20 minute.
AIDABDO
This is a tricky one to answer. It should take no more than 20 minutes by car, however, the only way from the resort to the city is by bridge which can be packed with cars during certain times of the day. Because of the expansion of the city with new construction going on all the time, traffic can make this trip much longer.
PedroP
Like a 20 minute Uber ride. Get an Uber. It’s cheaper. Like $5-$10. Hotel cabs charge $40 to go to the city.

Summerd32
IT SAYS ALL INCLUSIVE BUT INSTEAD OF FOOD THEY SHOULD CHANGE IT TO BUGS. NASTY AND LIMITED FOOD. NO VARIETY, OLD
NO BUFFET 2-3 ITEMS ONLY. SALADS ARE 100 YEARS OLD. PASTRY IS THE SIZE OF YOUR FINGERNAIL AND NO TASTE. NO BUFFET FOR DINNER. JUST A RESTAURANT STILE WITH A MENU THAT HAS ONLY 3-4 ITEMS IN IT AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT FROM 30-45 MIN IN ORDER TO GET IT. MOST OF US ATE OUTSIDE.
