Wonderful time.
The best bar tender ever in the lobby bar. Zancheliano. He was outstanding. Attentive, funny and made amazing drinks. Willy the grounds keeper also very amazing. Helped find the sloths on the resort and take photos for us. Shout out to the crew at the preferred club bar too.

TLDR: resort is clean, food needs help, resort staff amazing, excursions were great, UVC staff abysmal
We knew from other reviews that the resort was older, could use updates, and food variety. I didn't care. The rooms are clean, the grounds are well maintained, the staff are the heroes of this resort. Eric at the preferred pool bar made us great drinks. Yanizeth at kids club entertainment went above and beyond to make us parents aware of the daily events schedule for the kids, and to gather them for fun activities. Jose climbed a tree and took close-up pictures and video of a sloth for us. Henry in the wait staff always waved and got us drinks, even when we weren't in his section. Eduardo was a great host for the restaurants. A maitre d saw me scratching and brought over a bug wipe for me. The staff consistently went above and beyond to create a great experience. If my review was based solely on my staff experience, they would get more stars. Unfortunately the stay started on an abysmal note - and I never regained confidence in the UVC team. Prior to our trip I did a chat with WOH who advised me which rooms to book and gave me the email address of the reservations manager for connecting rooms. WOH chat advised me that the cost would be $60 to do this. I booked the rooms through UVC (on property vacation club). I asked them if they could do the connecting rooms. They said they would ask the resort the cost and get back to me. In the meantime, I emailed the resort contact I had, provided the reservation numbers and dates - and was again told the same $60 and sent a link for payment. Upon arrival the rooms weren't connecting. UVC staff argued that it was a per night charge and I would need to pay them $420. They then walked me to the Hyatt front desk where a man reviewed the emails and said he would put a note in for housekeeping and it would be fixed tomorrow. Well tomorrow came, and UVC (Odane) said he talked to his manager and the $60 I paid was sufficient and it would be fixed that day. I was advised to come back around 3. 3 came, I went back to the front desk - Odane headed me off and told me it wasn't ready yet and to come back at 5:30. 5:30 came - shift had changed, new people dont know anything of what I'm talking about, need to re-verify info, talk to managers, and Odane's notes say he told me to come and see if I would be able to change rooms - not that he said it was resolved and the room was changing. After a struggle, I got the right room - but any confidence in the UVC staff was lost. They also tried to monetize the moment by saying since being connected to my children's room was important to me I should upgrade my membership so this doesn't happen again. As if membership level is the reason they made a mistake, refused to own up to it, tried to swindle me out of more money AND now want me to pay thousands to upgrade. Athough I'm sure I will upgrade in the future, it won't be with them, or for their lies.

Panama has my heart
The staff were very attentive and the food was wonderful. The property is older but everything was clean. They have sloths on the property that can be seen in the trees. That was a great experience to see in person. We took a tour of the Panama Canal scheduled through the resort. It was a great tour and got to see Casco Viejo (the historic district).

Low key Panama
We had an amazing stay at Dreams Playa Bonita Resort. Although the resort is about 25 minutes from the city, there are wonderful things to see here. There is a family of sloth that live behind the property, a monkey, and beautiful butterflies. We were fortunate enough to be here when the baby sea turtles hatched. They were released into the ocean. It was absolutely amazing to see. All the staff are friendly and very accommodating. Preferred Club staff do an amazing job. The food at Bourdeaux was the best of all the restaurants on the resort. This is an older resort but clean and beautiful. The lobby bar is usually hopping in the evenings, although the resort as a whole is pretty laid back and quiet. We did a lot of Ubering back and forth to the city and sightseeing.
