Get what you pay for

We paid a fee for a 1 year old infant when we booked with C.C. and the airline had no proof of it so we had to pay an additional 150 when checking in at the airport. Transport was seamless for my family but the couple traveling with us were not on the transport companies list. The resort is very clean, staff was pleasant, helpful and spoke English. Rooms are updated with nice hot showers, plenty of pillows and beds were comfortable. Mini bar is only stocked with 3 beers, 3 sodas a few waters and a fruit juice. That sounds good enough but the fridge is only stocked every other day. Bar tenders are more than happy to give you drinks to put in your fridge and tips go a long way. Food choices Mon-Fri are limited to 3 dinner a la carte restaurants no buffet. Lunch in only at one location daily by the pool. breakfast is at the lobby. Coffee cafe was nice with croissants and sandwiches. All food was good we thought plenty of fruits at the lunch and breakfast buffets. Pools are nice and warm and one was under construction during our stay, jackhammers running all day. Adult pool is the place to be, bartender Sanchez is wonderful. No place to lay out on the beach which is on the rocky side. Ocean water was brown during our stay, not the hotels fault. No fish at all in the water. Bring bug repellent, I got eaten alive my last day and these aren't your average bug bites, still itching a week later. Nice place, just wouldn't return if I didn't have to.

Needs Improvement

I am NOT a complainer - this review is as honest as it gets. Upon arrival to the resort we were greeted and immediately served champaign. The staff all seemed super friendly. The resort itself is beautiful! My husband and I came without children to celebrate our 13th Wedding Anniversary. When mentioning this, we were upgraded to a suite at no additional charge which was really nice. The rooms are very clean, however, the mattresses are really uncomfortable. The pillows provided (about 5-6 of them) are either really hard and stiff or super duper soft - no in between. I take my sleep pretty serious and I must say my back is killing me and I can't wait to get back to my own bed at home. We spent most of our time in the adult pool which was awesome because it was quiet, relaxing and the bartender in that area, Sanchez, is the best! After day 2, the resort started major construction on the main infinity pool therefore people were now allowed to use the adult pool even with children - understandable, no biggie. However, I think they should have warned people about the inconvenience and loud drilling noises that lasted the rest of the trip. My main issue with this resort is the food options. Don't get me wrong, all the food was good, but, it's repetitive. They have a breakfast and lunch buffet that serves the exact same thing every day. The bigger issue is dinner. They only have 3 restaurants open in the evenings and 1 doesn't allow kids at all. So if you're traveling with children, you only have 2 options and the menu is the exact same EVERY SINGLE DAY. My husband and I ordered a pizza one night just to have something different (that alone was a huge hassle, as different people kept giving us different answered as to being able to order from outside the resort). Another night, we had a driver that took us out into town to a local seafood restaurant that was really good! A little hole in the wall in the city, but well worth it! The last night we didn't even eat dinner because we were so tired of the same food for the 7th night in a row. This needs improvement, big time! The resort also has absolutely no entertainment in the evenings. We were in our room and in bed before 9pm every night. A little more fun at night will go a long way. This is by far, our least favorite resort we've been to and probably will not return. But we love the city, the history, and the diversity of people.

Needs work

Not up to par with other resorts. Not a lot of organized activities. Went to kayak and SUP, only to be told the the SUPs were only for owner usage and the kayaks had holes in them. In order to receive discounts we had to attend a 90 minute presentation - we ended up blowing 5-6 hours with this. Promises were made to us, but never fulfilled. The staff was nice enough and in the restaurants, they were superb. Lack of options for dining, in my opinion. No real nightly activities that were at reasonable times, like at 8:30-9:00. This resort, we were told , was recently bought from another company, I think the intercontinental. In my opinion, they have some more work to do to get it to the level where they should be. It wasn’t terrible, but I don’t think I’d go back

Poor housekeeping

After arriving to the hotel well after midnight we were all set to get to bed and order some room service when we found crusty “unmetionable” stains on our bedspread. Which, fortunately was replaced with haste. For the remainder of our trip house keeping continued to be sub par. No towels left for us, no toilet paper and one day our room was not touched until after 4 pm. I must say that the menu at the restaurants is exceptional, however the buffet is just okay, but still edible and will satisfy your appetite. The service here is great however there are a few employees who are lacking some customer service skills. Regardless the time here in panama was amazing.
