  Relaxation undone by constant sales pitches

  Upon arrival at Dreams, we checked in and requested an upgrade to Preferred so we could access the adults-only pool. The upgrade was $50 per person per day, which added up to $700 for both of us over seven days. After checking in, we went to our room and immediately noticed several issues. The door would not close unless slammed, the lock was broken, and the door itself was warped. The balcony door was also broken and would not lock. On top of that, the room phone did not work. These may seem like small inconveniences, but they already set our experience back. This is where I strongly recommend that you do not stay at this property. At check-in, we were told to go to the front desk to activate a “key” for discounts. Our reservation had mentioned resort coupons, so we assumed this was related. It was not. Instead, Hyatt pulled us into a room for 45 minutes to pitch their credit cards. We left extremely frustrated. Other guests told us they were offered a 90-minute presentation in exchange for a free massage, but we were not given that option. Regardless, who wants to be pressured into a sales pitch while on vacation? Overall, this was not the experience we had hoped for. The resort staff, bartenders, and housekeeping team were wonderful and very kind, but the management practices left us disappointed. Unless you are already a Hyatt member, I do not recommend this hotel. Be prepared for constant upselling and money haggling that takes away from the relaxation you came for.

  Mr Happy is the best barman I had, he remember your name and drink everyday of our journey at the hotel, Someone that all hotel needs to have. An asset for the business. NFL

  Amazing bar and bartender!

  Zancheliano the bartender was amazing! He made each drink perfect and kept the atmosphere at the bar lively and happy. 10/10 bartender and experience drinking with him tending bar.

  Dreams was a Nightmare!

  This “Dream” turned into a nightmare... fast!! While the overall experience at the hotel was initially good, the bites I suffered—either from the bedroom or the pool—were anything but. Even worse, my entire party of four was affected, despite staying in two separate bedrooms and using different beds. And no, we did not drink the water. After returning home, new red bites continued to appear. I ultimately had to go to the ER and receive treatment. This was extremely distressing and absolutely unacceptable from a place where guests expect safety and comfort.

  Amazing Holiday Stay

  Had an amazing week stay. The staff are very friendly and always smiling. I didn't encounter one person rude or with an attitude. The resort is in need of some repairs, however the grounds and rooms are very clean. Housekeeping service was provided everyday, anything you need was provided when asked. The food was okay, however repeated options were provided daily. We went to eat out some of the nights so we can have a different option. We used Jay Arias Tours for transfers and tours. Jay has a very good knowledge of all important sights and was able to explain everything perfectly. His expertise in all things Panama was apparent from the start. He was particularly flexible to our wishes. Our tour of the Caribbean Coast was amazing; he made the 2 ½ hour drive very entertaining. His knowledge coupled with his friendly and enthusiastic personality made you feel as if he was a friend. Jay and his team are very punctual and reliable. Emmanuel, who picked us up from the airport was on time, patient and provided great knowledge of Panama all the way to our hotel. They offer private, comfortable vehicles and the best rates. I highly recommend Jay and his team, will book with them again when I return.
