Great trip but too short.

We booked this 5 days before we left. 4 days in an all inclusive for 4 people in 2 rooms with nonstop flights for a great price. We had been to a Grand Palladium before in Riveria Maya before and liked the resort so we went for it. Our last 2 trips to the sun were to Puerto Vallarta so we knew the weather would be great. We were not disappointed. Caught a taxi for the 45 minute ride to the resort from the airport and were sent from the front gate to the Family check in area(the elite side)we were the only ones checking early and they bumped us up to 2 small suites for our stay. They went through the resort amenities and how to access them. Never were we hit up to buy any Palladium club membership or time share. We went and had cocktails and ate while we waited for our rooms to be ready. We got to our rooms and they were nice, 2 double beds and a nice patio in each. Big bathrooms with Jacuzzi tub (we never used them) in them. Room service showed up with Champagne, fruit and treats for each room( nice touch). The family side had its own private pool where we spent most of our time. The buffets were as expected, good but not great food. Breakfasts were good (fresh omelets and pancakes cooked to order if wanted). We hit 4 of the restaurants, Mexican, Italian, seafood, and steakhouse. We found some good items, and some not so good items but overall enjoyed them. The desert options were never great but were okay. The beach was great, I played some beach volleyball and we went out on the Hobi-cat with a resort employees. They have Boogie boards, surf boards, and Paddle boards available to borrow as well. We had great service everywhere we went. We found out a day or 2 in the the resort was only at about 40% capacity. the employees said it would fill back up the next week (a pre-spring break lull). It probably made our service level higher than usual but all the people were nice. The sunsets are gorgeous there. We should have booked a 7 day trip. 4 days were not enough.... The resort is spread out a little but not nearly as much as the other Palladium resort we were at, so be prepared to walk around to get where you were going and to take a lot of steps, we are active people so it does not bother us but others may not like this. Sorry this is long winded, but I wanted to do this trip Justice. We give it it a big thumbs up.

Tons of fun

My first time to Mexico and it was all positive. The resort made everything easy to find and worry about nothing. "Sexy Gabby and Sexy Miriam" were the fitness instructors. I will have fond memories for years of swimming to the BG's music and a live sax playing during stretch/yoga at the pool. The infinity pool was fabulous especially when we saw a pod of whales out in the ocean. The bartenders are all first class and friendly. Loved it here!

So glad I called Cheap Caribbean.

My husband and I were trying to get away last minute for a long weekend. Airfare to just Florida was sky high. I looked into last minute getaways and found Cheap Caribbean. Made a phone call and gave Jeff our airport and time limits. Jeff found us a great last minute get away to the Grand Palladium Vallarta in Punta Mita, Mexico. Perfect flights for us and a great resort. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and accommodating. Can’t believe we lucked out so last minute. Only negative...would not recommend to anyone not able to do stairs or walk without assistance, wheel chair. Tons of stairs and halls had a lot of hills. Resort was sprawling but well maintained.

It is what it is

Overall, I had a great time, but I attribute most of that to who I was with and what we did with our time. I spent 5 days at Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort, and everything for the most part was good. The highlight of the hotel was the service at the bar. We had several amazing servers that not only poured our drinks, but provided plenty of entertainment along the way. The major downside to the resort is the food...I might be the only person on earth who can say they lost weight on vacation. Breakfast options here aren't terrible, but dinner was pretty subpar overall. On our last night I'm pretty sure several in our group got sick from the food so beware. The rooms were nice in size, but could definitely use some updating. The room temperature was a little off the entire trip. It was either freezing cold or hot. You can also hear everything going on in the room next fully clear sentences. Like most resorts, everything becomes repetitive, so we took a taxi/van into town one day, and I would say that was the best part of the trip, and the only time I ate a full meal the entire time. If you decide to stay here you'll have a good time, but I think there are probably better options out there.

What's to Love

Golden beaches, lush vegetation & gardens surrounding the resort that are impressive.

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Working on your tan lines at one of the resorts three pools - the infinity pools views are aah-mazing.

A kid-friendly resort with clubs for all ages, waterparks and a "Raggs" show, starring five musical pups.

Grabbing a frosty margarita at Viva Mexico and watching the sun set into the Pacific.

Beachy and land activities - like volleyball, tennis, catamarans, snorkeling and more.

What We'd Change

At 45 minutes to the Puerto Vallarta airport, the resort is definitely a bit of a drive, but quiet seclusion is one of the highlights.

Why You Should Go

You must take in the scenery as you venture to the resort - it's about 45 minutes to paradise.

Beachtown Sayulita is only 30 minutes and highly recommended - fun little shops and surfing.

Spending "you time" at Zentropia Spa, but if you want to dip into the spa pools, it will be an extra cost.

Be sure to check out the on-site mini zoo. Fab picture opp spot - say "beach!"

The seawater pool is adjacent to the ocean and includes a beach area, loungers and umbrellas.
