Amazing Trip

We spent five nights at the Valentin imperial in October. Read a lot of reviews to prepare. Beach was beautiful, no seaweed. Weather was awesome. Rained once and a bit cloudy one day but overall fantastic. Dinners were second to none. By the last day of the buffets for breakfast and lunch we're getting a bit old but between room service and the snack shop lots of different options were available. Overall luxurious and excellent service. Would definitely return!

5 star resort

The Valentin Imperial exceeded my expectations! The service is fantastic. They treat you like royalty and wait on you hand and foot! There’s always a server around the pools and beaches asking if you need drinks, food, etc! Our room was cleaned during the day and evening. The mini fridge was always stocked with beverages, snacks, etc. Everything you need is on the resort! We didn’t leave one time! The food and drinks were very good. Me and my boyfriend will be back very soon! I think we’ve found our 2nd home! Thank you Valentin Imperial staff for making our 1st out of the country experience memorable!

So much to love, so much to do, a LARGE resort!

I'll start by saying that this is my 7th resort in this area, and by far, this hits near the top notch. There is a GIANT pool with two swim-up bars, which has constant activity, surrounded by different food carts (change daily, but DO NOT miss the crepes!), daily games and competitions (fun to watch, even if you do not join) and lots of music and ....well, it's loud. And not to complain about that, because we visited it almost every day, but we were there to relax and find the quiet - WHICH WE DID!! There is another pool, which is far enough away from the main pool, and it's called the "Golden Pool", It's a little like a "lazy river", with several "inner pool" gathering spots, plenty of both sun and shaded lounge chairs, and it's the "quiet". It's the "getaway". I even napped there one day. We spent hours each day in this area and LOVED IT!!! We were waited on hand and foot - and there are two bars up and down this "lazy pool" area. The resort itself is HUGE, as in, we were LOST the first three or four days - but not to worry, there's a shuttle coming by every few minutes to whisk you whereever you want to go. The food is typical "resort food", but all in all, not bad. There are seven restaurants, and with the 24/7 room service at your commend, you'll NEVER ever go hungry. There's a full list of daily events, activities, shows, and several different places in the resorts to buy off-resort excursions - at reasonable prices. There's a lot to see, and aside from the mosquitos (there is bug spray offered at EACH outdoor bar and location), I do not think we had any complaints. The staff was AMAZING and would accommodate all our wishes. The sports bar was a great place to watch Monday night football, and we even got in a few games of pool! YOU have to make it Don Miguel's bar for "high tea" at 4pm, and stay for happy hour - we made the mistake of not going here until the 5th day and we regretted it because this bar is THE BEST (ask for a martini list!)... the French restaurant was our favorite! This is def a place we will be back to!

Wonderful Resort

This is an excellent resort! The lobby entrance is grand and then the resort property is beautiful and lush. It's a very tropical feeling with wide walking paths. It's easy to see wildlife as you walk from your room to the restaurants or pool, including coatis, iguanas and interesting birds. We loved our room, we had a deluxe junior suite, which although is the basic room, was more than enough space for two for a full week. 24 hr room service was a great option along with a mini bar offering beer, sodas, waters and chips. I believe housekeeping was in our room twice per day, and the towels fresh and plush. The room was very clean, always. The air conditioner is on sensor, it shuts off if you are not in the room, so it can take a bit to get a cold room. They provide shampoo with the other amenities, but you need to bring your own conditioner. The pool is amazing! Definitely larger than any other resort that I have personally been to! The main pool has two sides to it, one is for lots of fun water activities and music, the other is more relaxed. Each side has a pool bar, accessible from the deck or pool. There are also waiters offering drinks if you are sitting in a lounge chair. Friendly bartenders, fun drinks, lots of choices, premium liquor available, just ask, if you don't see what you are looking for. The golden pool is very quiet and serene. The water activities are super! Water spin bikes, water aerobics, volleyball, water polo, zumba. Volleyball and soccer are also at the beach. The Go Team works tirelessly from about 9-4 at the pool and beachside, and then moves to the evening shows with you. They are awesome! The foam party was very fun too! The ocean was beautiful and clear during our stay. There were plenty of chairs and palapas, although we never sat down. The sand is soft and clean, and there is a designated swimming area where there are no rocks. Very easy to take long walks on the beach, if you like. Lots of choices for dining. The buffets were good for breakfast and lunch, plenty to choose from. I enjoyed fresh made eggs or crepes every morning. We actually preferred the simple lunch buffet or carts at the main pool for lunch, tacos or burgers, grilled to order. We tried every restaurant for dinner. Loved specific courses at each and great variety. Try them all! But, my favorite dessert was the fresh churros available each evening in the courtyard. Yum! We had rain a couple of days, which brought in mosquitos. The resort fogs the property and provides bug spray at the restaurants, if in need. The sports bar is fun with Karaoke and music. And Don Miguel's makes great drinks, including specialty coffee and dry ice martinis. Make sure to visit Don Miguel's while you are still dressed up for dinner, because it's the same dress code. The sports bar is casual. Lastly, the evening shows are entertaining, we enjoyed the magic show the most. Have a great time, and it's worth it!
