Poor service

Not happy with this resort at all. They gave us room in building 14 and said they are renovated , but everything is old , bathroom very small. In your refrigerator you will find only 2 bottles of disgusting beer and few of soda , no chips or sweets as every hotel where I’d been before . There is no service on a pool or beach , so you can’t enjoy your snacks by seating on a pool or beach. Stuff barely speak English. Food in buffet was good. So will never come back to this place .

Beautiful but buyer beware!

First of all, I am not a person to give bad reviews. The resort itself was just beautiful! The wildlife was great! Due to where our room was located, we did not have a large amount of wildlife outside of our room. We were across from the water park. There was a lot of foot traffic. There was a path outside of our room that led to jungle area which was gorgeous. We saw a lot of animals there . Walking around the resort was very nice. The beach was as others have said.... rocky. We were able to find some small shells etc. beach was fine for relaxing but swimming was not great. I had read reviews so I was prepared for that. There are a lot of “free” tours to do on site. Cenotes, guided tours in English and Spanish. Cleaning of rooms and beverage refills were done daily but never at the same time. You couldn’t wait to see staff etc. The last night of our stay the room was cleaned but fridge was not refilled!! Staff were fairly friendly. There were very few that seemed genuinely happy/ friendly as I have seen at other resorts. The most friendly were the staff trying to have you purchase “Club” packages. We actually went and did the meeting. We were told it was 90 minutes. It extended much longer until we finally cut it off. We did get free 25 min massages which we upgraded to 55 min. These were nice. Very rushed getting us ready .... staff calling into changing rooms to hurry us along . Annoying! Water was very cold in the hydro therapy pool as well as the regular pools. This resort has several eating restaurants. It does not have the one large buffet area I am used to. Lines tend to get long on weekends. You do have to wait in lines. Food was pretty good and a lot of different things at the international Buffet. I found the staff in general to be ok. Vendors were extremely pushy. It got very annoying! Found ourselves not even walking past them because of it. The store on sight was nice. You will be followed however! I had on a cover up and an extremely small purse. I had no where to put a stolen item! I found that to be quite rude! I would have preferred being patted down before leaving! We were told by multiple people to go to 5th Avenue. We did go. If you choose to go ..... WATCH OUT!!!! I have traveled to many carribean islands, this by far exceeds any in pushiness and deceit! BEWARE the “guy” telling you he remembers you from the resort. Total scam. Makes you feel bad for not remembering him! All a ploy to try to get you to buy his items which he claims are made by family. Jewelry which is not what he claims. I did buy a ring and a few other items which I would have bought anyway but he wanted to charge me 1200.00. I ended up with 4 items for $400. Sure I got ripped off but not like he would have liked. They all hone in on your resort bracelet!!!! All in all resort was nice. Grounds were very pretty. Watch out for scammers.... they are everywhere!!!!

Great eco resort

Wonderful experience overall. One of a kind eco resort with mangrove trees and a jade river. Pools and water slides were amazingly well kept and fun. Beach was great although quite rocky. Not many options for lunch. We got tired of the same one place buffet. Dinner was good but few options as the only hibachi place was fully booked for the entire week. Long lines at check in and room had a dripping ac that could not be fixed. Kids really enjoyed it and we would live to go again!

Absolutely Great Resort if you have Kids

Wonderful resort, monkeys, and peacocks walking all around. Food was very good. Restaurant service was chaotic. International buffet for breakfast very good variety. Italian Breakfast was more limited in food selection. Incredible resort large numbers of people constantly checking in and leaving. Had an absolutely wonderful time with our 4 year old twins. Would definitely go back with the kids. Not a place to go without kids.
