What We Love

- This palatial paradise has two shimmering pools, plus a prime beachy location. Sun worshippers, you'll be in love.
- Tucked into a gated, upscale community, the swanky decor here is modern and chic.
- This Beach Eden is geared for families and adults, so the crowd isn't a rowdy party crew.
- Weights. Cardio. Stretching. It's going on every morning and afternoon.
- Dipping into a relaxing steam bath and whirlpool after your stress-smashing workout.
- Carving out some much needed naptime on the beach. The swaying palms will be your lullaby.

Lovely hotel
Stayed here in June of 2025, booked early as a special holiday for my husbands 70th birthday. Previously stayed in 2011,2012,2018 so some changes over time but still a lovely place to stay. Hotel very clean and the staff are lovely, a special mention for Elaina and Ricoh from the lobby bar, they couldn’t do enough for you and they are always busy, but greet you with a smile and soon know your drink of choice, for the hubby a G&T in a straight glass. The room was kept spotless and any small problem was soon sorted. The steak house was my preferred restaurant, a lovely selection of meats to choose from cooked to order and how you liked .

Retirement times 4
This was our fourth vacation at this resort. Our goal was relaxation and more relaxation. Sara, our room attendant was excellent. The pool bar staff was also wonderful. Ermilio, a bartender, was one of our favorites, but they were all great. Pastor, our pool server, was always friendly and attentive. Fernando at the front door was a lot of fun every time we left and returned. Noe, who was frequently our server in at the lunch buffet, and occasionally at dinner, remembered our favorite drinks. We appreciated his attention. And, of course, we always enjoy Santiago in the main buffet. The food and beverages did not disappoint. If you are looking for a massage off-site, we'd recommend Aqua Marine Spa located in the little shopping area just down the street. Excellent massages at very reasonable prices.

Mixed thoughts after 3 days.
Writing this on day 3 of a 14 day vacation with my wife and 2 teens. Some things are great...others do bother. Example 1: The hotel facilities are great, nice pools, beach, decent size rooms BUT whats with the theme? All the purple and bling makes it look kitsch. Also PLEASE get rid of the cold white LEDs everywhere and replace with warm white. When we arrived during dark it was like walking into a hospital with the white walls and lights. When the doors opened a huge purple sofa and crystal chandelier completely set us off. We went into the restaurant and it felt so cold and not cosy that my wife started crying. (So far for first impressions) Example 2 : Gardens are perfectly maintained. They trim the grass and bushes with lots of care BUT on the beach where there already is a lack of shadow each morning we see gardeners cutting palm leaves which are still perfectly fine and green. Result is even less shadow and 15m tall trees/sticks with only 4 or 5 leaves remaining. Example 3: Staff is very friendly and the food is pretty good BUT the steakhouse served my Filet well done, I ordered medium rare. While my daughters new york strip, even if 3x thinner, was served rare while she ordered medium well. So in my opinion better not ask how people want it if its not considered anyway. Example 4: The buffets in evening offer sooo much choice. And so far what i tried was good or decent at least BUT i would suggest a bit less is more in this case. Right now there are 100 small pots scattered around the buffet. Impossible to keep them all filled warm and look appetising. I would reduce the choice by 25% and still sure everyone could find something they like. Example 5: The hotel does a GREAT effort trying to remove the seagrass from the beach each morning. Its a Sisyphean task. But when u ask if u can put an umbrella between the sunbeds its not allowed... why only people who prefer pool over beach are allowed to use umbrellas? I will try to update my review after day 14... In the meantime I will add a picture of the beach situation and lack of shadow...

Less satisfied on my 4th stay
This is the fourth time I've stayed here. I do have issues that will probably make this my last visit. The food in the buffet seems to have diminished in quality especially for dinner. example: Paella was served at lunch but then placed out at least two more times at dinner. It was all dried out and not edible. There was a tempura type fish dish that looked delicious but wasn't edible. We opted for buffet on our last night as my girlfriend had Montezuma issues for two days. I honestly only found one entree that looked good. We were also disappointed with the Mexican dishes as we live in Arizona and have many restaurants to choose from. We did have delicious meals at Krystal and Miyagi. The rooms and hallways are becoming an issue as well. Tile in hallways is showing grout issues- not sure if it's mold. We had to get new keys three times during our stay. The electrical sockets wouldn't hold our chargers without propping them up with something. One afternoon I filled a sink to shave and the water was almost orange. We were told they had an issue around two AM. It cleared up eventually. I have no complaints about staff. They are the nicest people on the planet. The Sargassum has ruined the beach but that's Mother Nature and we were aware of the problem beforehand.

Management resolved my issue as promised
I previously wrote a review on this hotel approx 2 weeks ago while on vacation there. At the time I slated hotel management for failing to provide Johnny Walker black label Scotch as advertised on their website. However having returned home I thought it time to provide an update, as the management team of both Marie and more importantly Lola came good on their promise to resolve the issue quickly and satisfactorily. So I must apologise unreservedly for the previous negative review, and as promised to correct this on my return home. Thank you for a wonderful 14 day vacation.
