Jan 28, 2026Dreams Saphire one of the best resorts we have stayed at in 20 years
This was our second time visiting Dreams Saphire for 9 nights, we were extremely well taken care of by staff, excellent restaurants and a large comfortable room with good A/C. Special mentions to all pool bar staff( Carlos), Bluewater staff Eloy, Candelario, Julio, Gumer, Stephany, and Julian. Chefs at Bluewater Grill Francisco, Loraine, Viviana and Angel! Carlos at Sports bar is excellent! I recommend getting preferred club, a tad nicer room and location, Bluewater Grill breakfast, preferred lounge as well preferred adult pool. This resort is only 20 minutes from airport which is a plus after a long flight. We had Dreams do a family photo shoot which worked out very well! Some minor areas which can be improved, Sports bars should be open for all NFL games( some games start at 1 pm) as well maybe have some chaffing dishes with food ie wings, fries, hot dogs during the game would be a huge bonus. Also resort may want to considerrelocating disco to one the vacant spaces instead of doubling at sports bar starting at 10 pm. It appears the house red wines have been changed in my opinion to a lower quality from our previous visit, which was a little disappointing. Our group enjoyed the Whites and Rose house wines. Purchasing bottles of wine is quite expensive for the quality available. I suggest you book early for this resort as it usually sells out of regular or preferred rooms. Our grand daughter loved the kids club, and participated in quite a few activities. Top marks for staff at kids club. Hope we get back next year! Dan Ottawa Canada

Dreams Sapphire has a good location as its not too far from the airport. Its right on the beach. The sargassum in January was not too bad as the beach tractors are cleaning from early morning but the sea is cloudy and some days you cant see your legs in the water. Its a great stretch of beach and I felt safe swimming there. If you want a beach bed you need to be at the beach no later than 0715 or they are gone. We didnt manage the first day to find a bed anywhere. We never used the pool as the beds were all reserved before you could get there. The staff are 90% extremely efficient and helpful. The coffee shop, beach bar, world cafe staff and housekeeping were all outstanding. The food and drink were perfect I never had a day when I didnt enjoy all meals and the bar staff were all excellent. This is a lovely resort which is run extremely well. Although smoking is permitted in the two smoking zones provided every smoker I spoke to felt like a 2nd class guest. It would take very little to make the smoking area in the bush by the car park more pleasant. A couple of benches and a table so people dont need to balance their coffees or cocktails on the bin, and some pretty lights is not much to do and costs little to make the smokers feel more comfortable about their holiday too. Either that or class the hotel as no smoking throughout so smokers can look elsewhere. Entertainment was good but a little stage in the lobby would be better for the live music to be seen by all.

Staff is excellent
Veronica was a fantastic wedding planner and the venue was beautiful. The food was actually really good which is hard to do for a large volume of guests. We would recommend staying here for sure. The rooms were nice and clean, too.

Dreams Sapphire was a True Gem !
Dreams Sapphire was truly a GEM! The Sapphire has the most Exuberant Staff, Friendly and truly a joy to be in their Presence. Quality foods at the Buffet, Outstanding Restaurants- Boudreaux (French) Japanese to name a few..24 hours Room Service Quality Drinks, top shelf liquor Available We travelled with Friends during this Visit, hoping you choose this Resort and enjoy it as much as we did.. Bar service at the pool- was exceptional by Christina and Bryan the Manager Entertainment - we had the pleasure of Dealing with Abraham- ALL GREAT EXPERIENCES

Good but not great
Traveled as a group of 3 friends in Jan 2026. Stayed in building 6 - double room next door to a king room. Upgraded to preferred club. Good: Food is generally very good. World Cafe can be hit or miss. Bluewater Grill, Himitsu, and Portofino were all good, but wear a sweater in Portofino - it's cold. Staff were very nice and rooms were clean. Very hot showers. Clean pools. Well maintained common areas. Good cocktails. Beach is nice for lounging. Adults pool is also nice, but some loud drunks can spoil it for others. So many coatis and they are so cute! Bad: Preferred club doesn't get you much. Adults pool (but they don't check) and Bluewater for breakfast. We thought it would give us access to the rooftop amenities, but you have to pay even more for that ($60 per day). The $200 in coupons they give you is hard to use (spa won't accept them for many of the treatments). Beach is not great for swimming - have to walk through mounds of seaweed and plastic to reach the water. They do their best to clean up the seaweed, but more is always rolling in. There are lots of kids here. If you don't like loud kids bumping into you, try another resort. Very bad: one member of our group got food poisoning due to breakfast at World Cafe on our last day. Might have been undercooked chicken from the grill. She was vomiting in the shuttle on the way to the airport, then not allowed to board the flight because she was too sick. Ended up in hospital for a few hours, but on the mend now. Be careful what you eat.
