Family trip to Cancum
Enjoyed the trip, we were a long way from home in Ireland though and expected a little more for what we paid. Arranged a private taxi service through Get your Guide which didn't show up. Paid 63 USD for it but then were charged 145 USD dollars for an additional one. Felt so vulnerable at the airport so just had to pay it. To note, Get your Guide did issue a refund afterwards. First impressions of the hotel were great until we saw the room and smelt the rotting sargassum. It was overwhelming on a daily basis. We did not access the beach because of this, also missed out on snorkelling opportunities. The room was too small for a family of four, including two boys aged 12 & 15. There was no separate bathroom either. We were on the ground floor which was described as a garden view, it was just scrub. We had no view at all. We never used the patio or opened the doors due to the amount of insects. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. The pool and pool bar were amazing. The food was great. If we did need anything, it was attended to very quickly by staff. Also did the trip to Chichen Itza, amazing but so hot. Had to cover up and use a lot of repellent. The cenote cave swimming was a pleasant surprise and reprieve from the heat. Also the air con on the bus was a blessing. Part of our tour included tequila tasting but just be aware of what they are telling you. You couldn't afford to buy the trinkets at the original village either, left us in the searing heat there for a while hoping we would buy something. Be careful booking trips through your hotel as they are almost twice the price. Use a private tour company instead but check them out first! The Mexican people are so kind and friendly, would recommend a trip but do your research first and suit your own needs.

Not great
Very dated ( 20 years old ) needs a refurbishment, rooms dark and gloomy , furniture / fittings etc tatty and broken definitely not a 4/ 5* , some staff great some not so , guests smoking all over and never challenged. The entertainment team ie Mar , Monica , Daniel , Abraham all great , the seaweed stank and wasn’t cleared daily made it impossible to use the beach and swim in the ocean which was devastating as that’s why we picked a beach resort .. I had visited the Dreams Jade in April and was perfect ..

A experience I’ll never forget!
The staff members were amazing! Especially the entertainment team, Abraham was extremely friendly and helpful and his classes were extremely fun, especially blackjack and volleyball! And the spa was amazing, I really enjoyed the massage and the hydropool, definitely recommend it! I would come again and again😁

Perfect Family Vacation
Our family of four recently travelled to Dreams Sapphire for a week long family vacation. The weather was amazing and the we enjoyed the resort as our home away from home. Pros: 1. The food! We enjoyed several of the specialty restaurants and didn't have a wait to get seated (ate around 6:30pm). The menu selections were amazing and everything tasted wonderful. The staff at the restaurant tried to make each experience the best. 2. The pool. This resort had one very large pool for everyone to share with a bar in the corner. It was nice to have the activities at the pool for everyone to enjoy. The pool was also a little deeper so it made staying cool easy. It also wasn't crowded. I could sit in my float and hardly ever run into someone. 3. The entertainment. The staff puts together a daily list of activities and there is something for everyone. Keeping everything updated on the app was also very helpful. My family enjoyed the pool volleyball, the shows at night, the hair wraps, bracelet making, beach volleyball, etc. Cons: 1. The AC is lacking throughout the resort, including our room. It wasn't as cool as we like and eating in the buffet was very sweaty. The specialty restaurants had AC though! At home we like it to be around 72 degrees F and our room was closer to 75/76. 2. The beach - This is NOT the hotels fault. In July the seagrass is thick and this year was really bad so they had to shut down the beach. 3. The constant offers to "pay more". Do you want a bali bed by the pool? That will cost you. Want to try a coconut? That will cost you. Do you want that sit at the show? You have to buy a bottle for that table. We went to another Dreams resort and never had this level of, if you want something nice it will cost you more. Overall, we would recommend the resort. It wasn't an expensive resort so we knew it wasn't going to be the top of the line resort where celebrities go. We are just a simple family on a nice vacation in Mexico. The resort had the necessities plus a few perks like water slides and fancy restaurants.
