  Great vacation. Nice resort. Great service from staff.

  Had a fabulous time here with my extended family for a week. We paid plenty extra and got a villa which comes with a butler which is critical if you want control of dinner reservations because you have a big group. Our butler Adrian was very attentive. My people enjoyed the spa services. The upscale restaurants were all fine and the world cafe was excellent for a dreams. Reasonable nighttime entertainment. Preferred club upgrade was a must for my family. The guy who rents the cabanas was very helpful and Ivan at the world cafe was also very attentive. Avoid UVC at all costs. The beach is fabulous and macine raked daily for the seaweed. The resort is spotless and the staff were very very attentive. Their Superbowl special event was spectacular. They had lots of pop up treats. If you have little kids and can afford it the villas are very nice because they have their own pool and its easier to keep an eye on them. Its a large enough place to have all the nicer ammenities but not so big you have to take a cart around. I have a largish family and they can be critical but everyone loved this place.

  76 Guests and a Perfect Wedding: Exceptional Staff & Flawless Service!

  We recently hosted our wedding at Dreams Sapphire with 76 guests, and it was the experience of a lifetime. If you are looking for a resort that combines a beautiful layout with a staff that truly treats you like family, this is the place. The Wedding & Planning Team Our wedding planner, Lulu, is a total professional and a miracle worker. We dealt with the stress of our luggage not arriving, and Lulu met every obstacle with a solution and a smile. She also went above and beyond for our decor. Due to high winds, my tall centerpieces were going to be cut down. My mother suggested painting gold bricks to weight them down instead—Lulu didn't hesitate, said "yes," and made it happen perfectly. She is the reason our vision came to life! Exceptional Service Coming from a family of servers, we have very high standards, and the staff here exceeded all of them: Corinna (Dining): She served our rehearsal and wedding and was, hands down, the best server we have ever had. She memorized everyone’s drink orders and was incredibly timely, kind and so so sweet. Alberto & Laura (Pool): These two made our guests' daily experience so special. They were attentive, kind, and kept our large group happy all week. Dining & Nightlife Tips The food at the specialty restaurants was great. Pro-tip: The restaurants are popular! Our group would check in, get a buzzer, and head to the coffee shop to relax until our table was ready. Our guests also raved about the variety at the buffet. A note on the nightlife: I should have done a bit more research here—there isn't an actual "disco" on-site. However, the Sports Bar is open until midnight with a DJ. While I personally would have preferred it to stay open a bit later, it was probably for the best that my guests and I did not stay up any longer lol The Resort & Beach The resort is impeccably clean and very easy to navigate. We traveled in February, and the beach was beautiful. We saw some seaweed complaints in other reviews, but during our stay, it was not an issue at all. One thing to note is that the resort is full of lush vegetation and beauty, which means lots of wildlife. We saw coatis, birds, and I even had a surprise opossum visitor in my bridal suite! The staff does a great job of controlling the birds at the pool, but you have to understand that the animals come with the beautiful environment. We loved the nature-filled atmosphere. Thank you, Dreams Sapphire, for making our wedding week so seamless and memorable. We’ll be talking about this trip for years to come!

  Attentive and Friendly Staff at Dreams Sapphire!

  We enjoyed our early February stay in the preferred club area with an ocean view. It was a clean, spacious, and comfortable room, with a mini bar refilled daily. The gracious and friendly staff really stood out, and so we wanted to give a few recognitions: When I misplaced my phone Adrian from hotel security and Israel from the rooftop were both extremely helpful. Moises and Franciso were fabulous in El Patio Mexican Restaurant, and Ivan's service in the buffer area was great too. Victor was the bartender for the rooftop infinity pool swim up bar and lounge area and he was terrific and attentive. Be sure to bring some extra bills along to show your appreciation for the great service with a tip or two! We also used the spa and enjoyed the hydrotherapy and relaxation massages, which were well worth the time. We were there as a couple and found the adults areas of the result quiet and relaxing, which is just what we were looking for! If you want more activity the main pool area was always hopping, and at night there was nice mix of shows and live music. We got a great package deal through Delta Vacations to help make this trip a good deal. We'd love to return sometime!

  Not a 5-Star Experience – Very Disappointing Stay

  We stayed at Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa Cancun as a group of four couples and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Upon arrival, three of our four couples were given the wrong room type. Despite bringing it to management’s attention right away, there was little urgency or genuine effort to correct the situation. This was ultimately corrected with no rhyme or reason. The issues continued throughout the trip: A shopping excursion that was supposed to be scheduled for us was never arranged, so we paid $200 USD for a taxi just to make it happen ourselves. We were upcharged $300 USD for wine at dinner, even though we were told it was included with our room package — and the main guest on the reservation wasn’t even present at the dinner. 3 of the 4 rooms never received welcome gifts. We were unable to use the advertised resort credits. Two rooms experienced active construction noise daily (jackhammering and tile cutting). One room had no hot water. We were denied a plate at the lunch buffet for not wearing shoes and a blouse, while children were running around in swimsuits — some even sleeping in the buffet area. The standards felt inconsistently enforced. We also paid extra for the Preferred Club, and it simply was not worth it. The elevated service and added value that are supposed to justify the upgrade were not evident, especially given the number of unresolved issues we experienced. The only true saving grace of the trip was the great company we were with and the exceptional wait staff at the main pool and at Bluewater Grill — Felix, Laura, Eduardo, and Dominicano. They were attentive, fun, professional and the reason parts of the trip were still enjoyable. Unfortunately, the positive interactions with a few outstanding staff members cannot outweigh the overall experience. We would not return, nor would we recommend this resort to others expecting a true 5-star stay.

  Disappointed

  We are incredibly disappointed in how this situation was handled, especially as repeat guests of this property. This was approximately our ninth time returning to Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa. We have consistently chosen this resort for group trips and have brought significant business with us over the years. On Saturday, two members of our group accidentally booked the wrong Dreams property. We immediately contacted Apple Vacations to attempt an exchange. Apple indicated they were willing to assist; however, the resort refused to open availability or offer any reasonable upgrade option — despite the fact that four additional rooms were connected to our group at this property. The only option provided was $120 per person day passes. They ultimately left and traveled to the correct resort. Today, they returned to purchase day passes so we could spend time together. At that point, the situation escalated unnecessarily. They were told they would be required to surrender their passports in order to obtain day passes. They understandably refused to relinquish their passports. The resort then stated they would allow entry for the day only if they provided copies of their passports and surrendered their state-issued identification instead. While they agreed to comply, the paperwork presented for signature contained fine print that raised additional concerns and was not clearly explained upfront. After nearly a decade of loyalty to this resort, the rigid policies, lack of flexibility, and adversarial handling of what should have been a simple day-pass request was surprising and disappointing. Mistakes happen. Loyal, repeat guests expect a reasonable effort to accommodate — especially when multiple rooms and significant revenue are involved. Unfortunately, that effort was not shown.
