Placed in unfinished section with noise, no reservations, no water refills. Not the luxury we paid for. Disappointing.
We stayed at Hotel Xcaret Mexico from July 1 to 7 2025 for a post wedding family trip. We booked through Costco Travel and at the time of booking we were never told we would be placed in a brand new section of the hotel that is still under construction. The construction noise was constant and very loud. Drilling and hammering went on every day right near our rooms. There was also a strong chemical or construction smell in the hallways. It felt more like a work site than a luxury resort. The new area is also far from the beach and restaurants. No one gave us a map or any instructions at check in. No one explained how to use the app or that restaurant and park reservations needed to be made early. As a result we missed out on many activities. We tried to make reservations on the very first day we arrived, only to be told everything was either full or only available in 1 to 2 weeks, even though we were staying for 7 nights. What kind of logic is that? Why sell vacation packages when you know guests won’t even be able to use the core experiences? The in-room service was also very disappointing. The minibar was never refilled and we never received bottled water refills during our stay, even though we tipped daily. We had to constantly call just to ask for basic things. Shampoo and conditioner dispensers were broken and never fixed. When we raised our concerns the manager simply said that construction cannot be avoided. That is unacceptable at this price point. If you are planning to stay at Hotel Xcaret Mexico anytime soon be careful. You may end up in a section that is not ready for guests. It looks beautiful in photos but the actual experience was frustrating and disappointing.

Paradise on earth ❤
Xcaret July 2008 - This park is an all-day adventure in Paradise! You can float, swim or snorkel through clear, fresh water in natural limestone tunnels and caves and it is gorgeous. The water is refreshingly cool, which is a welcome from the hot climate. Life vests and snorkel gear are provided. You'll see native butterflies, tropical birds, jaguars, dolphins, manatees, flamingos, and more. There is a rescue and breeding program is part of the park’s conservation efforts. The park is built around authentic archaeological structures from the ancient Maya civilization. We really enjoyed the show, "Xcaret México Espectacular," a massive nightly performance with over 300 actors that tells the story of Mexico’s history from the ancient Maya to modern times. There are numerous buffet and à la carte restaurants throughout the park. We always come for a day-visit when in Riviera Maya.

Xcaret is the place to stay
My room was always fresh and clean, with beautiful views and the service by concierge was always on point. I appreciate Alejandro Barrera and Juliette and Bani for taking good care of us

Still under construction! Be warned!
1/3 of this resort is still under construction, was not told and there would be over 600 labourers . Everywhere has plywood and solvent smell. Staff have no idea where things are, a lot of things still closed (water slides, restaurants etc not open yet). The check in process probably took 40 minutes, we were showing to our room by someone who had no idea where to go. We went up and down stairwells got into a lift and a couple of U-turns. The same staff member then ran off before we could work out that our room keys didn’t work. The new part is so far back from the main pool this place really needs 100 golf buggy’s. AVOID CASA LUNA. 100% not recommend staying here .
