    Never again

The room service was good, drinks okay but I was very disappointed with the availability of dinner reservations. You’re paying about 2 k for a night, there should be more availability and better food options at the buffet. The Xenotes excursion was my least favorite as you get a cold soup and sandwich for lunch. The guy who helped us with our reservation said we would get a tour and $500 dollars vouchers to use at a spa if we did the 90 min. presentation. The next morning they said no tour and only $200 so we just left, I hate when people lie. We’ll never do this trip again and would not recommend it to anyone. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

    Xcerat Hotel Mexico was AMAZING!

We had an AMAZING time at Xcaret!!! Faby our concierge hooked us up with everything we wanted. She was fun and great to work with. She got back to us right away when we had questions or concerns. Highly recommend this resort and Fanny!! It was none stop fun for our family. Perfect for teens. My kids loved the teens only hang out - they met new friends and had so much fun dancing & playing games. The food was excellent. The service was amazing - every staff member was friendly and helpful. We will be back!

NOT a relaxing vacation but we loved it!

We had a blast this week! Was it a super relaxing vacation....Hell no! This is more of an adventure vacation. You can definitely just hang around by the gorgeous lagoon, ocean or pool however all the adventure parks are included with your stay so you're going to want to take advantage as these parks are usually $160 US per person. Resort: The resort is very clean and gorgeous but it is MASSIVE! There is NO shuttle taking you around and no guys in golf carts that you can tip to drive you somewhere. You are walking literally everywhere which means room placement is VERY important!!! I initially booked a garden view room because it was the cheapest and then upgraded at a discount when we got here. We are at Casa Espiral which is super close to the salt water lagoon and decently close to the ocean. If you don't book your room close to the lagoon/ocean, you will be walking a good 12-15 minutes just to get to it especially if you booked closer to the front lobby. If you did a tough excursion the day before, your joints, lower back and feet are going to hate your guts walking there everyday if you're an old lady like me. The resort is so clean and smells gorgeous as they pump some sort of spa smell everywhere. Even though the resort was sold out, we found ourselves alone a lot especially on the Espiral side which we loved. You can see a pool anywhere you go but that lagoon was something else. It also had little hidden water slides in the rocks and iguanas just hanging around which was super cool. We also liked that the lagoon was funneled ocean water and had little fish but no scary ocean unknowns. The actual ocean is also a beautiful turquoise and I didn't see much seaweed. Some big rocks leading up to it so again, water shoes!! Food: The buffet is delicious and has a huge variety of food and menu options daily. There are a couple buffets but we always ate at Mercado or had room service. There are many fancy a la carte restaurants where you have to book in advance to go. We initially booked an a la cart every night however realized we were way too tired after our long days of walking and excursions to go because again, you are walking and sometimes a far distance just to get to that restaurant after a very action packed and tiring day. We ended up canceling all our reservations because it wasn't important enough for us to have to crawl there. You better make sure to cancel properly or they will be charging you $25 US per person so don't just stiff them. Parks included with your stay: Xcaret: An eco-archaeological park featuring underground rivers, beaches, cultural shows, and wildlife. Xel-Há: An all-inclusive aquatic park focused on snorkeling, swimming in natural inlets, and water activities. Xplor: An adventure park with zip-lines, amphibious vehicles, and swimming in underground rivers. Xplor Fuego: The nighttime version of Xplor, offering zip-lines and ATVs under the stars. Xenses: A sensory park with optical illusions, unique scenarios, and a lazy river. Xoximilco: A festive boat journey on canals with traditional Mexican music and food. Xavage: An adventure park with white-water rapids, zip-lines, and jungle activities. Xenotes: A tour visiting different types of cenotes (underground caves/pools) for swimming and exploration. Xichén: Tours to the ancient Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itza There are literally a million super clean, air conditioned and fully loaded busses to take you to and pick you up from the parks every 20 mins. There is also a cute ferry boat but this just goes to xcaret eco park. Many of the parks are literally under 10 mins away. Some of the tours are 40 mins away. HARD SOLE WATER SHOES!!! You need good quality water shoes!! It's a must. They sell good ones on Temu and they were cheap and worked well. Price tag: This vacay was a definite splurge BUT there is so much included with your stay and there were only 3 of us so that helped. Also kids under 18 are free. Just pay their flight. I managed to rope us a black friday sale so keep your eyes peeled for sales on boxing day or black friday. There are unfortunately NO last minute deals for this place either. Price actually went up last minute. Conclusion: This was definitely not a relaxing vacation. Most days, my husband and I were fighting for our lives with the amount of walking on uneven terrain. Just a painful reminder that we are totally middle aged and need to step it up in the gym. Our daughter loved it! We would however definitely stay here again but I would forego some of the other upgrades I did (early flight, extra night, closer exit row on flight etc) to have a better room as we actually spend a ton of time in our room and we love a nice view.

    will go again

totally awesome! The staff is so attentive to everything, we have not encountered anyone who did not go out of their way to help or provide information. rooms are very clean and well maintained. Being all-inclusive, food is always available which is great when traveling with kids who are excited to be in the pool and may not want to eat at 'regular times". Overall, worth every penny

Reconsider going there. Buyer beware. Nothing but hassles. Not an enjoyable vacation.

Group of 17 people went for a 60th wedding anniversary party. We wanted to love this hotel and experience and we had so many headaches and problems. Please read all of the recent reviews. BUYER BEWARE. You cannot get a hold of anyone at the hotel prior to going or even when there that can help you. You cannot make reservations ahead of time. You send an email with requests and they don't get back to you to let you know if anything is booked. My in laws try to plan a whole private party and reservations and nothing was done ahead of time. The room walls are paper thin. You hear everything in the rooms next door and in the hallways. The pillows are worthless. The concierge cannot help directly, they have to pick up a phone to get other people to help. All the restaurants were booked and we got no reservations. They did book us on an excursion and never told us but then try to charge us with a no show fee. The buffets are packed and you often have to wait for tables, food is not fantastic but ok. No real allergy labels and wasn't confident that food waiters or food prep people understood gluten free. There is no true beach. You have to get up at 7am to try to get any good "beach" chairs or big pool chairs. The grounds are beautiful but are huge. Our rooms were in the middle of the hotel and took 10-15 min to lobby one direction and 10 min-15 min to the beach in the other direction. The parks are fun but honestly with all the hassle of the hotels just not worth it. The hotel has 1800 rooms and has like 4 people checking people in and 4 checking people out. You try to call the front desk or concierge and the phone rings for like 20 min before someone answers. It takes like an hour to check out to leave. Lots of surprise charges on top of the already overinflated prices. Lastly, they were able to arrange for a private party for us in a private room once we got there and they arranged for photographers to take our family pictures and pics of the party. Well it's now a month later and no one has contacted my in laws to deliver the pictures and surprise they cannot get ahold of anyone at the hotel to get these pictures. It was the first time our family was all together in like 5 years and now we may not have the pictures we paid for.
