Pro's and Con's of the Colonial Experience
The hotel personnel were all outstanding. Grounds at the location were very beautiful and well kept. Only drawback was sleep quality. What will impact us ever returning to this hotel is the size of ther beds. If there were larger beds to more comfortably fit normal sized adults or two teenagers in one bed that would be great. Having to obtain a different or special room accommodations such as a "Family Room or a Suite" just to have a queen sized/ bigger bed for adults and options for teenagers to sleep alone in single bed unfortunately makes this hotel less competitive. Too bad, its such a great place.

Barcelo Maya Tropical Family Stay
Amazing stay, lovely hotel with tons of family activities, clean and spacious rooms. The beach is very well kept with lots of seating available at the pool and the beach. The gym is amazing, large, and with good quality machines.

Barclo Hotel a GREAT place to stay when in Mexico
I just love the whole grounds. It was beautiful Day and Night. The trees the flowers. A few monkeys in the tree and iguanas. The snorkeling was good too. The beach has white sand beach and plenty of room for all. Makes for a nice place to walk along the beach. The doc that was there had lots of fish you could just look into the water to see. Very nice place. Mall, bowling and go cart too. lovely

Go during low season
Went after Christmas to after New Years. Hard to get a dinner reservation at the restaurants. If you like a buffet- you are in luck. Had to get a chair on the beach- if you like laying in the sand on the beach with bugs you are in luck!

Wonderful stay
We once again had a wonderful stay at the Colonial. The hotel and the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the buffets are varied and very good. This year, our daughter discovered the Barcy Club, which she absolutely loved and is already looking forward to coming back! We had a small issue with our room upon arrival, which can happen when the hotel is fully booked, but the management immediately found a solution for us. We would especially like to thank Mr. Manuel Santamaria and Mr. Raymond Enriquez for their kindness and helpfulness.
