Amazing experience
The infrastructure was amazing and the staff very caring. We loved the yoga class and volley activities with Giselle. Wide choice of food and beautiful beach and pools.

This resort is a must!! Amazing staff, food, service and activities. Perfect for families.
Hands down this is, if not one of the best resorts in Mexico I have been to. It is a huge property. The service was amazing, the food was incredible and the vibe was perfect. The beach was clear and beautiful. The rooms are clean and spacious, we were a family of four and there was a lot of space. There were two queen size beds, a stocked mini fridge, a bathtub/shower, safe and a balcony. You can go visit all the resorts and eat at their buffets and go to their pools with no additional cost. The only two you can’t is the adults only and the palace. They have a dock where you can see all the fish and is great for snorkelling. There is so much to do at this resort, we were only there for a week and we still hadn’t seen everything. My son loved the go-carts, strikers and all the games. He loved that he could make his own ice cream Sundays and order all the virgin piña colada’s he wanted. They had a magic show, which my son absolutely loved and lots of activities for the children to do. We really enjoyed all the themed nights at the buffet, especially Mexican night. We will definitely be coming back to this resort again. Thank you to all the amazing staff who made our week so incredible. We have already started planning our next trip. This resort is a must!!!! See you all next year!!!!

Barceló beach
We stayed at this resort for 5 days. We didn’t realize how far it is from Cancun and how close it is to tulum so if you do stay here I would recommend traveling to tulum airport to get here. The servers are nice and we got 2 reservations at the restaurants of the resort during our stay. The beach was clean and the resort wasn’t too crowded. I would stay here again but fly into tulum and bring more sunscreen. It was 50 usd there

Single parents be warned!
Single parents beware!!! Price skyrockets of you are a single adult with child. The quote is one thing and when you try to book it jumps up significantly. My quote took me to the very last page where it then jumped up by 1000.00. This makes no sense - children eat and rink less than adults - however if I booked with another adult my original quote remained the same, Do better Barcelo - it is very discriminatory for solo parents (and solo travelers!). In the end this resort would not accommodate and we were not able to book and plan to be with our family and friends for a very special trip. Incredibly disappointed and will not look to book with them in the future given this terrible experience. Please make sure you quote is exactly what it is before booking with others and if you are a solo adult or single parent ensure you book your trip first so you are not left behind.

A great resort
This is a great place. We have been to the resort at least 8-9 times already. We keep going back to it for many reasons: - huge beach with lots of shade - beach chairs available till at least 10 am even when the resort is full, no need to get up at 7 am to get a spot as in many other places - beautiful, well-maintained grounds - a lot of space for walks with a long promenade right on the beach - big gym - good service - free internet - lunch buffets right on the beach with great views We also really like the fact that guests use their bracelet to unlock their room - no need for separate room keys. Some things that might need attention from the management: 1/ For the first time ever we had occasional problems with waiter service; when the buffets were not very busy, waiters would sometimes just chat in groups not paying attention to their tables, letting used plates pile up on our table or making it hard to order drinks. This happened once at the dinner Beach buffet and several times at breakfast and lunch time in Rancho Grande. We've always had great service at Captain Morgan - a shout out to the Martinez waiters. Service at lunch time in the big Beach buffet was also always great. We also got great service from Edwin in Rancho Grande and Saul in the Beach dinner buffet. 2/ Food: We really appreciate the effort it takes to run huge buffets and provide variety. I only mention the points below because I feel it wouldn't take much to improve them. - the pre-cooked roasted meats (not the ones grilled on the spot) at dinner at the Beach buffet were in most cases very dry. It felt like such a waste to have lamb or a big chunk of ribeye ribs, pork or beef and make it inedible. - In the Rancho Grande burger patties and meat grilled on the spot were often burned, breakfast pancakes were raw inside (only tried them once). - Everywhere the meat grilled on the spot was very oily. Same with rice. Otherwise, there's a great variety of food and we always find something good to eat. Deserts were always fresh and delicious. On the whole, this is a great resort and we will be going back for sure.
