I don’t know about you...

Let me start off by saying I am one of those people who does extensive research before settling on something. I read the reviews and a lot of them were mixed but I booked it because I enjoyed the pictures on the site and honestly, I am not disappointed. Upon our arrival from the airport we were greeted with a friendly smile from the transportation company Amstar. Our ride was uneventful but we arrived at Krystal’s safe and sound. Upon entering the lobby we waited maybe 3 minutes and were promptly checked in. After a long day of traveling they ushered us over to a table to learn about the activities we could embark on. I felt like this was too much. If I have questions I know how to ask. Most people are traveling all day and don’t want to stop for another 15 minutes for somebody to tell them to take the purple and yellow bus and not a taxi. We rode up to our floor opened the door and breathed a sigh of excitement, our room was beautiful. We were upgraded upon arrival to an ocean view and it was absolutely gorgeous. We put our bags down and went looking for food and soon found out that the buffet was closed for lunch. We were sent to The Grill, but the food wasn’t very good. We went to El Mortero later that evening and our server was Emilio. He was super nice and the only server we tipped during our stay. The pools are great! We only went to the adult pool but the bar staff and servers asking us if we wanted refills was a pleasant surprise. The pool was never overcrowded and it was a great place to relax and unwind. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. I had an omelette made every day, they were delicioso! The dinner buffet was also good. I really enjoyed going to Take A Bite which is the smoothie and coffee cafe. Although the quality isn’t Starbucks or Smoothie King you’ll enjoy it all the same. We did the bus into town twice and it was really simple and cheap, $5 for 2 people. Overall, I really enjoyed the way the staff always greeted you with a smile. You could tell they took pride in making sure the grounds were upkept and our experience was phenomenal. I’m not sure if all the other negative reviews I read had higher expectations but I feel like they far exceeded any I could ever imagine.

I don’t know about you... I don’t know about you...

Great resort for the money!

My husband and I travel to all inclusive resorts 3-4 times a year. We spent 5 days (Aug 6-10) at this resort. It is a smaller resort, but we like that feature. We did have Hurricane John visit during our stay and remove the buffet roof, but he staff was quick to move the buffet into a conference room that was quite pleasant. We enjoyed the adult only pool with swim up bar alot. Jorge was amazing at the swim up bar! We also loved the infinity pool in the main pool area. The best staff member was Samuel at the main pool bar. He was AMAZING! Never had to ask for drinks . He would watch our glasses and bring us refills before we were finished with that glass! Our only problem with the resort was that you couldn't swim at the beach. The beach was HUGE but the black flags were up the entire time, even when the hurricane had passed and water was very smooth. Not sure if they never allow swimming at the beach or not. Other problem was that we booked a room in the Palmilla building to have a beautiful view of the water/beach. We were told on check in that our room was not available and were placed in the main building with a not so great view. We were given no reason for this, but soon saw that many of the rooms in the Palmilla building were being renovated. That was very unfortunate. Would we travel to this resort again, for the right price YES. Would we seek it out to stay at again, probably not. But it was a nice stay .
