    The Most Wonderful Trip of Our Lives

    God’s plan > Our plan Philippians 4:12-13 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. We thought we would be cruising the Caribbean this past week, but when airspace was shutdown over much of that region and we could not make our ship, a quick pivot led us to one of the most memorable and incredible trips of our lives in Cabo San Lucas. We disconnected from everyday life and deepend our connection in a place I can only describe as paradise. In a world that relentlessly drifts from the true essence of service and focuses on balance sheets and bottom lines, the Grand Velas stands out as an absolute star when it comes to a genuine, heartfelt and immersive customer experience. Our concierge, Ana, was a superstar and we are so grateful to have been in such capable hands for the week. We have all seen the sun rise and set, but I promise you..it’s just different in Cabo. Every bucket list should include a stay in this unexpected facet in the gem of God’s creation.

    Good to Mediocre Service at Grand Velas Los Cabos

    My husband and I vacationed at the Grand Velas Los Cabos from October 29 to November 8, 2025. My husband and I chose this resort due to the positive reviews that I read on various travel websites. While we enjoyed our time at the Grand Velas Los Cabos resort and the service overall was good, there were some instances where the service left me feeling underwhelmed and terribly disappointed considering we had spent a considerable amount of money on this 9 day trip: - Azul Restaurant (buffet): Every morning and lunch we ate at Azul’s buffet which was quite good. The one disappointment I had was there was no drink menu for ordering different coffee beverages in the mornings or alcoholic drinks for our lunches. I saw many people ordering different types of coffee and alcoholic drinks while I ate breakfast and lunch but I didn’t know what they ordered and when I asked if I could have a Frappuccino, the server responded that they don’t serve those kind of drinks in the Azul restaurant and the only place that serves Frappuccinos was Amat Cafe. Why didn’t the server offer to go and get me a Frappuccino from Amat Cafe to enjoy with my lunch or advise me on the types of coffee and alcoholic drinks they offer in the Azul restaurant. The type of service I experienced in the Azul restaurant felt more like 3 stars instead of 5 stars. - Adult only pool: We lounged on the loungers that were near the Azul restaurant and we didn’t receive any water, drink or food service. We felt ignored. We could see other couples closer to the pool bar who were receiving drinks and water from their servers but no one served us until I complained numerous times to the pool bar staff. Why should I have to complain to get pool service near the Azul restaurant especially when we were told the resort was only at 15% capacity? This experience made us feel invisible and it gave the impression that the pool staff catered to frequent and familiar visitors who knew which loungers to stake out than new visitors like my husband and I. The service only improved after i complained or when we moved to a different area on the last 2 days of our vacation. I rate the pool service 2 stars because of this daily experience. - Food ranged from very good to average to bizarre at the restaurants. They served some dishes with unique ingredient combinations but the taste didn’t seem to mesh, and it felt like an attempt at California fusion which didn’t work. Our favourite restaurant was the Velas 10 which had dishes on the menu that we recognized and enjoyed. - My massage and facial treatments at the SSE Spa were good but no different than the treatments that I have experienced at other resorts. The one exception is the water journey which was unique, enjoyable, and memorable. First impressions are lasting impressions, and Grand Velas Los Cabos, in my view, missed the mark on several occasions during our stay.

    Beautiful, Very high level of service.. all suite hotel with something for everyone. Food was amazing and we had wonderful weather. There are activities to partake in for every age. I’m looking at returning again…. It’s worth every peso..

    Amazing stay at Grand Velas Los Cabos

    Our family had a truly wonderful stay at Grand Velas. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was exceptional and consistent throughout our visit. Every team member we interacted with was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our stay special. The accommodations were fantastic. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the views were incredible, and we really enjoyed having access to such a great gym and amazing restaurants throughout the property. We’d especially like to recognize a few folks who made our experience stand out: - Atenas, our concierge, was outstanding. She was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and always on top of every detail, which made our stay feel seamless. - Arleth provided excellent service and made each dining experience feel warm and relaxed. - At the pool, Rodrigo and Paul were fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and ensured we were always comfortable and well taken care of. The hospitality at Grand Velas truly exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail and genuine care from the staff made this trip unforgettable. We would absolutely return and have already recommended Grand Velas to others.

    Exceptional 5-Star Luxury (And A Dream for Celiac Travelers)

    We had an absolutely amazing stay at Grand Velas Los Cabos and can’t recommend it highly enough. The resort truly has everything you would expect from a 5-star luxury all-inclusive: exceptional hospitality, incredibly warm and gracious staff, outstanding food, beautiful amenities, luxurious rooms, and a world-class spa. Every detail felt thoughtful and elevated, and the service consistently exceeded expectations. Because I know how hard it can be for anyone with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, I wanted to share some specific information. From the very first meal, the level of care around food safety was exceptional. At every restaurant, the chefs personally came out to greet us, asked detailed questions, and ensured we had a completely safe dining experience. We never once felt like an afterthought or a burden...quite the opposite. The care and attention were truly remarkable. Our celiac family member was able to enjoy foods they rarely get to have while traveling, including fries, steak, Pad Thai, and even fried rice at Sen Lin. Everything was clearly well planned, carefully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The culinary team’s knowledge and attentiveness alone would bring us back. One helpful tip for future guests: make restaurant reservations well in advance, and if you prefer to dine outside, be sure to specify that when booking. On our last night, we ended up waiting over an hour past our reservation because we hadn’t indicated we wanted outdoor seating and a table for four wasn’t immediately available. Overall, Grand Velas Los Cabos delivers a true luxury experience with genuine warmth and exceptional accommodation for dietary needs. If you’re celiac and want a place where you can fully relax, enjoy every meal, and feel completely taken care of, this resort is outstanding.
