Beach or Pool Seating Can Be A Problem
This is our first time to this particular resort but it is not our first time to a Dreams. We have been to several all inclusive over the past 27 years including Secrets and Breathless. We have also been to Cabo before. I will be honest and admit that I might be fatigued with this style of vacation strictly because of the towel game. It is the most frustrating part of any beach vacation. We are here with one teenage and one adult child. This is my honest review. Arrival: Check in and greetings were mostly excellent. We aren’t new to the attempt to sell vacation club. We usually just say no and move on. Somehow, the sales person managed to leverage our desire for a family spa day into a discount my husband couldn’t refuse. We 100% should have just said NO. We do t get many vacation days and to waste 2 hours on something I’m going to decline for a discount (it was worth it but we were going to the spa regardless) is just a quality of life decision. Our rooms were ready after we ate lunch. The lunch buffet was not to my liking but I’m less picky than most so I just ate whatever they had. Pool/Beach: The biggest problem here is limited seating and limited towels. When we first arrived we asked where the towels were. We asked 3 people, they gave us 3 answers and in all 3 places there were no towels. We just took a seat without a towel which is uncomfortable and maybe unsanitary but we were here so early we had to just start the vacation. The pool for kids looks fun but unless you get someone to sit there, you won’t be able to hold a spot or get a spot. The adult pool is much more forgiving. The beach is divided. Preferred has loungers with a cushion and the general beach seating doesn’t have cushions. They’re divided by a rope. It’s a pointless division solely intended as a money grab. There’s no real separation. And it’s frustrating when there are empty seats on the Preferred side and none on the general side. It’s maddening! We got our keys upgraded to Preferred without the room but I am very conflicted about the value of it. On Christmas Day one of our party had to leave. I reserved a seat on the non-Preferred side and went to see our family member off. His shuttle was delayed. When I finally got back to my seat my PERSONAL BELONGINGS were removed and taken to security. There was no attendant there when I arrived to even time how long I’d been gone and people do this all day. I felt very embarrassed and targeted. It is Christmas and it was my beach bag. Yes, I left but people do it all day. They leave to eat breakfast or lunch. They leave to play volleyball or do the aqua aerobics and all of that is longer than 30 minutes. I was told because I was gone for more than 30 minutes, my things were moved. This is the problem with these types of places. There is never enough room for everyone. It’s poor design and poor hospitality. Everyone who wants one should have a seat. We paid $10k for this trip. We should have seats on the beach or by the pool each day. Food: Restaurants are good. Food and service are great. Prepare for a wait. There are not reservations. Just plan to wait 40-60 minutes and in the meantime, have a drink and listen to the live music. The artists are really good. I prefer to not have a reservation system because it’s too much like real life. I need to escape a schedule. Spa: Massage therapists were among the best I’ve had at a resort. The hydrotherapy was small and divided by sex. I have no complaints. It was great. Rooms: Dated furniture. Clean. Doable. Not luxury. But I don’t believe in staying in the room except at night to sleep. Entertainment: Good. Movies on the beach nightly. Live music and/or games at the bonfire. We will not comeback to this resort or any Dreams. My family has outgrown the family resort and we will all be “adults” next time we travel. I would not return here either way. I was disheartened by the limited seating and how hard it was to get towels at some times. Our main desire is to sit still and enjoy the pool or beach. That’s hard to do if you can’t find a seat. It’s also hard to play a game or grab food if your things may be moved. That soured me. I take responsibility for walking away. But the disproportionate division of seats on the beach creates this problem.

Coffee!
Raymond is the best barista. He made great coffee and took the time to ask my girls how they were enjoying their vacation. Would definitely recommend!

Take the upgrade!
We upgraded to a swim out suite upon arrival and it completely made our trip! We had a dedicated waiter (Rufo was the best) that helped us relax to the full potential!

Nice family trip
The ocean isn’t swim able. If we had known prior to arrival, we probably would have picked a different location. The pools are very nice but the ocean is where we want to be.
