A wonderful stay at Dreams Huatulco
We had a lovely stay at Dreams Huatulco resort. It exceeded our expectations. The facilities were all in great shape -- the rooms, pool, beach, restaurants, public spaces. The staff members were very friendly and made us feel at home. The food and drinks were good and plentiful. It was such a relaxing vacation, which is just what we wanted. What a beautiful setting. The staff was very helpful for my daughter who has celiac and is gluten-free. They gave her an allergy card to present at the different restaurants. While there were a few small hiccups, it generally worked well and she was relieved to have good, safe food. We originally had booked a smaller local hotel that did not meet our expectations, so we were so thankful to have a wonderful experience at Dreams.

STELLAR SERVICE
The staff were excellent! I required medical treatment during my stay and was treated by Dr. Andres, who's demeanor and humour are second to none! He came to my room and after explaining all my options, provided treatment. He speaks excellent English, and has a great sense of humour, which really put me at ease. Thank you so much Dr. Andres! Piece of Mind vacation
This was a great resort at a very peaceful and beautiful part of Mexico. An ideal place to chill with my family. Food was very good at th resort and entire staff was very helpful and attentive, especially Ricardo in the restaurant and Jose at the bar. They also have medical services onsite which was greatly appreciated for a minor accident with my son. A big thank you to Dr. Andres Gonzalez Alvarez, for his attention to the patient and professional demeanor. Trained in Mexico as well as McGill in Canada, his bedside manner was top notch.

Poorly managed all around
January 2026 Beach and pool amazing and the exercise instructor is great. Asian food amazing….from the hostess to the crew you can tell it is well managed and they like their job. Let that manager teach the rest? The rest? Let’s say I’m glad they have chips and salsa though this morning it was full of jaleopenos and we couldn’t eat it. Staff sits you and gives you a drink but won’t come back to give refills. They don’t chat, won’t look you in the eye and no one seems in charge in the restaurant. Someone showed the waiter he made a mess of the soup station at lunch and the waiter shrugged and carried on. No clean up. First night we ate at the Italian. It’s just ok. We did get a bun and oil upon seating and had our order taken shortly after. Tonight we went back after an hour wait and sat for almost 25 min before our order was taken. Waved to staff but was ignored. Wrong drink order went in which happens but watched the manager drink the rum and coke throughout our dinner. Had to laugh at that. Went into the lobby washrooms with garbages overflowing and watched the cleaning lady applying lipstick. Another laugh. Our room had no sun so that was disappointing but we aren’t in the room much. It is outdated and not clean at all. Lights completely covered in dust. Mirrors aren’t touched and I’m not sure when the shower glass was cleaned. Rather disappointed for what we paid for this trip compared to other resorts we’ve gone to and we travel five plus times a year. I understand orange towels get extra perks but the Saturday pool waiter wouldn’t serve us brown towels at all. Sundays waiter was on point as was Mondays. Yes you have to get up early to get a seat as the adult pool is full at 6am. No saving seats is not enforced by any means but that’s the least of their problems. The WestJet rep advised us to go to the lobby to get smaller bills for tipping. The lobby, however, does not have smaller bills. WestJet advised us to check with the bell boys. They won’t have any part in giving you smaller bills. Checked with the bartenders and they will give you 50 pesos but no smaller bills. They are hurting their own staff that way and that seems to be a common issue with everyone we spoke to. Beautiful scenery but will go elsewhere if we return. Bahai and Riu resorts offer better food and service. Could be A plus if management was trained as the location is breathtaking.
