Imagine this: everything around you is without a blemish. The water is unnaturally blue (but it's real, trust us), the sand feels (and looks) like you're walking on baby powder, there is no limit on how many top-shelf margaritas you can order (good, because you're not driving) and the only thing that is on your schedule is a facial that includes caviar. Did you just teleport yourself to Eden?
No, this is you reveling at a fantasy-come-true, five-sun haven in the exotic, natural beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Relaxing
My wife and I had a great time. The beach was amazing and so was the staff. Perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing, low key vacation where entertainment is available yet optional.
Secrets the Vine was a perfect location for our honeymoon. From the beginning of the day until sunset. The customer service was above and beyond. The food was outstanding and the employees were the most attentive that I have ever experienced. I would recommend this hotel and spa to anyone. The rooms were clean and very large. I can't wait to go back!
It was perfect and amazing experience in my life.
But, we found the stinky bedding in the first day. Especially, the pillow smell bad..
Cancun is very humid, I think that's pretty hard to keep fresh every room.
Anyway, I asked to my manager to change all bedding, then it was much better.
We are so lucky, we were invited to heart of the Mexico festival party.
It was amazing party. Thank you♥️

Is the Junior Suite worth the extra money?6 answers
6 years, 83 months ago

Junior Suites typically offer a bit of a larger room that the Deluxe, the decor may be a little different, or the rooms may be on specific floors--this varies from resort to resort and comes down to the price range you are comfortable in.
LaurenCC
yes, I believe it was extra $35/day and I booked it at the front desk, higher floor with awesome views, access to an additional pool and bar and lounge, access to one spa day too.
gowithflo
I got a deluxe room and I would book that again

IMHO It was, we got the Jr. Preferred suite. The only thing a step up would be the 2 rm suite (forget the name) but for the amount of time we spent in the room over our 8 day stay, we didnt feel it was nec.

This resort is located in the Hotel Zone of Cancun and you shouldn't encounter any issues with getting around town. You will be able to take a cab or walk.

Yes. Many people would venture out for short taxi rides to various clubs.
HappyLady20
About 10 minutes away. Need to take a bus (very easy and affordable) or taxi. The resort also sets up nightclub transportation .
sunandsurflover
It is further than a walk but they have a great bus system that will get you to town, probably about a 20 minute ride +/- and only $1 each way. I believe the hotel may offer a group bus to night clubs for a fee but don't quote me on that - check with them in advance if it is important to you.

Is snorkeling included in this hotel?6 answers
I've heard the ocean can be a little rough at the resort, but the resort states that they have snorkeling included in the "all-inclusive".
6 years, 81 months ago
Mr Mendez
I'm not sure if it is or not. I do know it comes with some of the tour packages, but if the water is too rough, they will not let you go for safety reasons.
Truffle45
Snorkeling excursions are available at an additional cost.
CaitlinCC
No--water sports and snorkeling are virtually impossible due to how rough the ocean is. We had red flag warnings the entire time we visited, so you could swim at your own risk. The sea was definitely rough--fun to play in, but too rough for snorkeling. We never saw a single jet ski or anyone actually "swimming" in the ocean.

Do not pay for preferred club not worth it
Mari5413
Just got back from a vacation at this hotel. We met several couples, some to which purchased the preferred club. Let's just say they were at our pool the entire time, and stated it was not worth the extra money. the only benefit was, you get a different pool and several extra items stocked in your mini bar. They said thier pool was too stale and too many older people no fun at all. I hope that helps.

When currents are especially strong, resorts will not allow swimming for safety reasons. This is mostly due to weather conditions and is not necessarily seasonal.

This hotel is All-Inclusive
Unlimited-Luxury® Features
•Full breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks each day
•Bottomless fruit juices and soft drinks
•Limitless international and domestic premium beers and top-shelf spirits
•Endless daytime activities
•Nightly theme parties and live entertainment
•All taxes and gratuities
AlixCC
The food and bar are included in our all-inclusive cost unless you order something special. We got mainly wine; 2 of us got a few alcoholic drinks. But a waiter offered to pour a wine without telling us it was extra. However, other reviewers had warned this could happen. So I asked, learned the $90 cost, and said no.

We didn't use room service because options downstairs were worth going, even for one after too much sun on tour. But menu in room seemed ample. Lobby has a open bar just for sandwiches and drinks during day and evening,, including special coffee, tea, and soda combinations. I took niece a half sandwich from there and she had a bowl of soup at the Italian restaurant.

Pool Renovations3 answers
Do you have any more details on the pool renovations? I was one click away from booking my vacation (September 9th-September 14th) and read that section! :( I really don't want to stay at a hotel that the pools are under contruction but really wanted to stay here at Secrets The Vine. Totally bummed!
5 years, 65 months ago
Breezy
The renovations are considered "light" in comparison to most resort renovations projects. This is taking place during the lighter travel period in order to affect the smallest amount of people. Additionally, since they are only working on 1 pool at a time, it should not impact your stay significantly.
If you have any further questions, please call us at 1.800.915.2322.
SamCC
My wife and I just got back from our stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun (July 24-28) and none of the pools were closed or under any sort of renovation. Now, I don't know if they have a renovation planned for September and haven't started renovating yet. I can tell you that while we were at the resort we no reason why they would renovate any pools because all facilities were in top condition. If you have already planned your trip to another resort in September make sure your next trip to Cancun is at Secrets The Vine. My wife and I really want to go back. Hope this helps.

4 years, 55 months ago
Coco
I don't have any food allergies so I can't comment specifically on gluten free. However, I believe you would have these because at every restaurant we ate in the resort we were specifically asked about food allergies. At the Hibachi grill they made special accommodations for a guy next to us who had allergies to onions (i.e. cooked his food separately and without onions).
DURL002
Almost every time that we went to one of the 7 restaurants at Secrets the Vine Resort in Cancun, the hostess or waiter would ask if either one of us had food allergies. I also noticed that at the breakfast buffet (which was huge and awesome!), they did offer gluten-free bread.

Only 15 minutes away from the airport - you'll be there before you blink any eye to start the margaritas and shots.
Swimming with the darling dolphins is near at Isla Mujeres.
Cabs to downtown Cancun for your evening festivities are pricey - there are buses available for just a buck.
Get up early to reserve the coveted, dreamy cabanas - they go quickly.
Upgrade to Preferred Club, get better rooms, a private pool, and exquisite desserts/fine liquors and more.
For adventure buffs (or those with crippling sunburns), Mayan Ruins are not far away.
13 Golf Courses (your lucky 13) are near for your latent Tiger Woods.
Food at the airport is high (seems they're quite proud of their average fare), so pack your own superior snacks.
There's deep-sea fishing, horseback riding & Euro-bungee (you're a human slingshot, but you don't go flying off into space).
Cigar rolling (don't tire yourself out!), dance lessons and much more - the list goes on and on.
