Really great resort, but out of the way.
The resort was a lot bigger than the ones we have been in the past. The first room we had only had 2 small twin beds for 3 of us but the front desk staff did a good job of making arrangements to get us a king size with a pull out couch for the rest of our trip. The food at the buffet was pretty good but was mostly the same every day and the ala carte restaurants were easy to get into and the food was great. The guys at the sports bar were extra accommodating and helped us watch all our local hockey games. All of the bar staff were great, most of the restaurant members were good but most had limited English but I guess we should learn a little more Spanish Lol. My daughters birthday was on the Friday of the trip, so after a day at the pool we came back to a room full of balloons, streamers, a birthday card and cake. Later they showed up with flowers for her.🥰 I think the biggest issue we had with this resort was the fact that it was north of Cancun away from everything, it took forever to get to the resort the day we arrived after a long day of flying. We booked 2 excursions, one to Tulum which was of course south of Cancun so that made for a long day in the bus, but the excursion itself was great, we swam in a cenote and snorkeled as well as the ruins. The second one was not too far from the resort, a catamaran over to Isla Mujeres, we snorkeled but the water was murky from the weather so didn't see much, then free time over at the island to do some shopping and tour the island, this excursion was ok but would have been better if the snorkeling was better. So all in all we really liked the resort, but it was out of the way. If you are planning on just staying on resort it would be good, just will take extra time to get there and back to the airport.
