Not what I expected
Let me start by saying this is my 4th trip to Cancun thru Cheap Carribean and I have always been satisfied. I’m not one to complain and my expectations are not very high-i never write reviews. You need to know the Grand Oasis Palm resort is geared towards families and children. There is no adults only section of the pool nor the beach, which we were expecting. The beach is awful. This resort is located next to a canal, so huge boats and traffic are constant at the beach. Many parts of the resort are under construction currently. The Grand Oasis Sens next door is completely under construction and although they will tell you when purchasing u can access everything at both resorts, you can’t because Oasis Sens is completely inaccessible. When u sit on the beach at the Grand Oasis Palm, the construction at Sens is directly behind u. Not an ideal beach experience when u combine that with the constant traffic of the canal—WHAT A JOKE!. The spa was advertising a 80 minute minute for the price of a 50 minute massage for $120 USD (RIDICULOUS) so we found a nice spa across the street for half the price. I thought this resort had two night clubs on it but apparently not-they REALLY need to make it more clear which Oasis resort has which amenities during booking because it gets confusing and is unclear. Read every fine line carefully in your booking . The VIP access literally only gave us WiFi, access to a safe, free dinner at the restaurants and access to a special area on the crappy beach. These things are typically included at any resort so having to pay extra for this was frustrating when I thought my VIP access was getting me an adults only VIP pool and beach section. We paid a lot more for this resort than the others Ive stayed in previously in Cancun that were much nicer, so I recommend u choose another resort. This rooms and facilities are old and not very clean. On top of everything, when we called Cheap Caribbean for assistance During the trip, it only made things more frustrating. It takes a very long time to get someone on the phone when calling Cheap Carribean and once you’re at your destination you’re pretty much on your own. They offered us nothing to resolve the issues and only caused more frustration and it was a complete waste of time calling.
Not what I expected. They should let guest know that this is a kiddy resort. Couldn’t wear my bathing suits because I felt uncomfortable. The restaurants were trash !!!!!! My room was good the only thing I like about the resort .... had to go elsewhere for everything
The resort space was beautiful and I had such a great and amazing time. It boasts as being a great family resort and, that it is. I went as a solo adult looking for relaxation and found it, after hours, after the hoard of kids went to sleep. Initially my room was not ready, but the concierge worked to get me into a room closer to the time of check in without delaying too much. The room comes equipped with water, soda, lots of beer, and a bottle of wine. I'm not a beer drinker, but the wine was ok.
My transport company, Amstar did a great job of coordinating my catamaran trip with Cancun Adventure. The catamaran crew, I think our host's name were Maggie and captain Jose, were fantastic.
Overall, this was the BEST vacation I have had in a number of years and I will be using Cheap Caribbean again in the future. Even, Sun Country Airlines wasn't bad AT ALL!!!
The food sucks for sure!! Very disappointing. Additionally the mini bar which is only( 3 or 4 beers and 1 bottle of wine) refilled every other day and only beer is replenished sucked. Best thing was the pool and beach. Water pressure sucked the toilet wouldn't alwaus flush and the shower wouldn't go on because low water pressure ughh. We were initially told we would be able to get a late check out which didn't happen, instead we waited in the check out line for an hour and a half as it was sooo busy with everyone else checking out. Not worth the all inclusive price.

Grand Oasis Palm Beach has good food, drink, service, rooms, and cleanliness but is a little weak on activities and entertainment, but we didnt go there for that so it was great for us!

Oasis Runaway?3 answers
My boyfriend and I are a young couple looking to both relax and party. Grand Oasis Cancun has recently gone up in price and now Grand Oasis Palm is the more affordable resort. I know this one is family friendly but I wanted to know how close the sister resorts are and how much you can actually do with the Oasis Runaway? Oasis Cancun is cheap enough but I've read bad reviews and they all pretty much suggested not booking unless doing the "grand".
6 years, 74 months ago
Abby
Sharing privileges with its sister properties through the Oasis Runaway Program gives Grand Oasis Palm a leg up on the ordinary family getaway. Drop the kids off at the kids' club for overnight camp and go exploring!
•CLUB RUNAWAY: Oasis Hotels and Resorts offer the opportunity to visit any Oasis resort throughout your stay. Check in at the Oasis Plus desk of your resort to verify availability at the resort of your choice and receive a day pass to sample the atmosphere and culinary offerings of the sister property.
LisaCC
I went with my boyfriend and we had fun, this isnt the party crowd at this resort. We would stay here again and probably not at Oasis Cancun we would just visit that one. Its really easy to get there just take the bus for like 20 min. You have to go to the concierge desk and get a day pass its pretty easy. You can eat, drink etc at the other Oasis resorts during the time period allotted for the day pass, we took advantage of the runaway program. Oasis Cancun you can day party/ day drink at but the pass is from 9am-6pm so you can't be there for the night time. Its better to go to the strip where all the bars are to party like Senor Frogs, Congo Bar, CocoBongos etc.
Corley
Don't know of the runway, but the grand oasis Palm is a family resort. And I mean that in every respect of the word. My husband and I just recently came back from Cancun. I would have preferred a more adult location, where we can enjoy peace and quiet sometimes but unless you are in your room, you are not getting that. If you are young, there was plenty of activities and night life that you can partake of. They had a club inside the hotel next door for young teenagers.
