Had a great time

So i arrived at the hotel waiting to check in standing in the line for about over one hour.it feels like we were being for some thing.they only have two front desk staff working ond they takes about 20 minutes to check on person in and it was very hot families were so tired standing they was sitting on the floor. First time ever experienced a check in progress like that.other than that i have fun

The Grand Oasis Cancun is easily the worst resort I’ve ever stayed at. The food is disgusting, the pool and beach are dirty, the rooms are dirty and outdated and the towels/ bedding were uncomfortable. Our air conditioner didn’t work in our room. As you can imagine, Mexico in July without AC is pretty miserable. We told them about this problem 3 separate times. The first time we were told there was nothing they could do because they were very busy and over booked. The second and third time we were told they would fix it. Fun fact: they never fixed it!

Very disappointed in this resort

When I booked this resort through Cheap Caribbean, I purchased the highest package available through their website. I thought that this would give me full access to the resort. When we checked in, I was told that there was a higher level package that I would have to buy if I wanted full access. We did not have a lot of extra money to spend (it was very expensive on top of what we already paid) so there was a lot of the resort we were not able to enjoy. This was very discouraging right off the bat. We arrived on a Saturday and after checking in we walked around the resort to get acquainted with the layout. We tried going to several different bars that we should have been able to access, but were declined service without being given a reason. After being turned away several times, one of the other guests let us know that the bars were closed all day Saturday and Sunday. This was not information that was given to us during our check in. The resort closed all of the bars for the whole weekend due to the Mexican presidential election. Even though their website said that the bars would be open, and all-inclusive resorts are exempt from this law, the resort would not serve any of their guests alcohol for the whole weekend. This was very disheartening for those of us that wanted to enjoy a tropical drink by the pool or beach. The resort staff offered no other explanation or compensation and were very unsympathetic. The restaurants that we were able to go to were pretty good, for the most part. The Mexican, seafood, and Chinese restaurants were good. The steakhouse did not actually serve steak. The service was decent, but I always felt rushed, like they were just trying to get us all in and out as quickly as possible. There are three huge pools surrounded by palm trees and chairs, so there was never a shortage of shade, chairs, or swimming areas. The beach was also very big and lined with palm trees and beach chairs. This ocean in this area of Cancun is full of seaweed. I know this is not the resort's fault, but was very annoying when swimming in the ocean. Our room was in one of the beachfront buildings. We had a king bed upon request and a balcony overlooking the ocean. Our room was always cleaned and the air conditioning worked. I was happy with our room and the maid service. Overall the money we paid to stay at this resort would have been better spent somewhere else that did not have such pricey and exclusive levels of all-inclusive.

Wish i would have went a different time

I was not aware until the 2nd day of my stay it was a election weekend and no liquor was being sold in practically the whole resort and downtown cancun. I feel i didnt get my moneys worth when it came to the all inclusive part of the vacation.
