Pro: Nice place. Beach is very clean. Lots of activities for kids. Personnel are very attention ate and always available to meet your needs
Con: Pillows I had smells, needs more variety in food choice.
The services provided that does not receive tips is horrible. Front office has no customer service skills specifically front desk and concierge. The checkin was horrible and front desk said the notes was provided during the reservation was NOT provided to hotel. We did not receive the room that was paid and reserved until after we had to tip the front desk worker. Still had to go through major hassle because we had pack our stuff and leave them at the bell people while we wait to get another room the following day. Attached photo is the view of the room we received while our reservation is for standard ocean view.
The servers at the restaurant were very nice but the restaurant attendants keeping the buffet clean can use customer service training. Some of the food/cook workers at the buffet are not as friendly as others.
The restaurants other than buffet you have to make reservation the day before between 8am and 2pm. This was not explained during the check in. When we tried making reservations the only restaurants available were two out of 5.
We are returning to Cancun but considering other options such as hotel and even travel agency. This is the reason why my overall experience was four palms because we enjoyed the beach, and Cancun in general.
This was an excellent choice. Cheap Caribbean made this trip affordable for us. Even though it rained a few days, there was plenty to keep us busy. The food was fabulous at the restaurants where you have to make reservations and at the buffet, there were many choices to please every palette. The pools and beaches were extremely clean and plentiful. The bars were well-stocked and met every desire. Our room had an ocean view and was spotless every day. I can't wait to go back!!! Even though my children are grown, the kids there seemed to have a lot of fun and they provided a lot of entertainment just watching them. The shows were great. I just can't say enough about Crown Paradise Club Cancun. It was truly an all-inclusive experience.
The only problem was that we couldn't adjust the room temperature. The air conditioner was either "on" (freezing) or "off".

Are diet soft drinks part of the all inclusive? And can they be got at the pools and through out the resort?11 answers
8 years, 100 months ago
Callie
Usually both regular and diet sodas are included in the all inclusive. As it is outside the US, specific sodas may not always be as readily available as they are in the US, therefore selections may change from time to time, as may the availability in certain areas of the resort at any given time.
KristinCC
Yes, everything is included in the all inclusive including all soft drinks. They have two bars by all of the pools that have all soft drinks, diet and regular.
MrsKappy
Yes. They are available throughout the resort. Free just like all the food and liquor. Two bars by the pool to get them from as well.

Can we drink the water/ice at the resort?11 answers

The property has its own water treatment/filtration system, however, as with any destination-I would suggest drinking bottled water.
ccsusan1
only bottled water, but they bring you as much as you'd like. Ice is OK
Ildique
Yes you can drink the water and ice at the resort. We did on our vacation and had no problems.
walleyefisherman
Yes ... had no problem at all.
joanav
We palyed it safe and drank the bottle water in the rooms and the filterd water at the restaurants.
mamalisa101
It seemed fine , however you can have bottled water anywhere in the resort at anytime. We drank mostly bottled.
laydroyalty
We did!
maryxxxxx
you can have all the bottled water you want delivered to your room from room service for free. we got 6 bottles a day.
walser
Yes! We had drinks w/ lots of ice immediately upon arriving, however the conceirge told us to wait a day or two before drinking the water from the restaurants (I think to allow our bodies time to adjust). None of us had any issues (Family of four w/ teen son & preteen daughter). You can request water bottles brought to your room from room service.
Fam4
Yes but I also bought water bottles downtown just to be safe.

Is there an age restriction for the kids water park?3 answers
My kids are 4.5 and 2.5 and both love the water! My 2.5 year old son would be devastated if he could not play in the water park and go down the slides with his sister! Please let me know before I book our vacation!
6 years, 84 months ago
Atlanta, GA
The resort's website does not state any age requirements for their water park. It would be best to contact the resort directly regarding any specific questions. The email address found directly on the resort's website (https://www.crownparadise.com/cancun/index.cfm) is concierge@crownparadise.com.
MariaCC
No age limit. The little park looked great for smaller kids. The bigger slides hurt and were no fun for any age.
SBRT
yes, I am not sure about the BABY PARADISE ( I think 3 and under), and the Kids Paradise Zone is like 4 to 12 only.
MojoOfCville
Is the water park available only when you put your kids in the Child Care?4 answers
I would want to be with my kids when they were using the slides and everything so my concern is that only the child care staff could be with them.
6 years, 83 months ago
Erica
Kids Paradise is a water park at the resort for ages 4-12 years old.
MariaCC
Yes, you can be with them! They can do the water slides from 10a-4p??? I think those were the times, but double check when you arrive. I seen parents in the pool catching their children as they came down the slides or taking photos/video taping. The rock climbing wall & zip lining can also be done during the same time, but you have to sign them up for it & complete a waiver! Very Simple... Just allow some time if a lot of thers have also signed up to do the wall & zip line...
Fam4
no - you can go with them, or leave them. The baby & kid oparadise zones are supervised.
Personally, I did not want to leave my 7 yr old alone, so I went with her. I think the "zones" have "times" like 7am to 5pm or something - but honestly, the main pools are so great shallow, and platformed, that our whole family enjoyed being together at those pools vs. taking turns with the kids at the kiddie paradise. Our daughter enjoyed the big pools just as much (if not more) that the kiddie zone.
MojoOfCville
They allow you to stay in the kids club or water park with your kids.

How are the swimming pools for kids? Are they too deep for younger kids to enjoy?5 answers
My kids range from 3 to 8 and sometimes hotel swimming pools end up being too deep for them to have fun in. Just want to know that there is maybe either a zero entry pool or a pool (or more than one) that are more shallow.
6 years, 83 months ago
Erica
At Kids' Paradise, 4- to 12-year-olds can sail the seven seas on a pirate's ship complete with water chutes, slides and water cannons.
MariaCC
I think so I saw alot of little kids like toddlers; they have toddler car with mini pools
SugaSlim
There is area in the main pool that is only ankle deep that I seen a lot of toddlers enjoying! The other pool is very shallow for little ones to enjoy. I think all ages can find a pool area suitible for them. Quite a few of the little ones had arm floaties or the swim suit w/ the built in life jackets! Also, floaties or rings were allowed & used often!
Fam4
there are large pools JUST for kids..... shallow. However, even the large pools and the mail pool are no more than 4-5 ft deep, and have platforms, and shallow areas. Look on th ewebsite to learn about the BABY PARADISE, and KID PARADISE ZONES - these are especially for babies & kids, and have shallow pools/play areas, as well as water slides, and fun stuff. Perfect for the kids! These paradise zones are IN ADDITION to the other pools I spoke of. You'll love this place - perfect for families. ONE WORD THOUGH...... SUNSCREEN!!!!! I used SPF 50 on my daughter, and had to reapply over & over to protect her, and she still got plenty of tan & a little burn.
MojoOfCville
My family including my 3 year old son just returned yesterday. There is a wonderful water-park aimed specifically for young children and a separate for older children. The main pools also have shallow areas for wading. This resort was perfect for kids of all ages. There were constantly dressed-up characters running around, children aimed theme parties and fantastic shows at night.

How much of a hassle is it getting to the water sports area?
Part of the reason we are going is for water sports
6 years, 77 months ago

The resort itself offers Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking and Pedal boats. There are also off-site activities offered by vendors that would be for an additional charge, such as Motorized water sports, Scuba diving and Snorkeling.
CoryCC
Water is very rough!
Water sports are close by and $1 by bus to get there! Super easy!
vaughns
The Caribbean was not very rough but its beauty is awesome recommend getting in the water in the morning the waves may be a little rougher but not much more, getting to the water spots is not difficult they sell packages at the facility that you choose and they pick you up and bring you back and you have different options and they will show them to you, most of the people speak English not all but most. The area offers many activities is best to plan before you go what you want to do, the scenery is awesome but many of the water spots are form 30 to 60 miles away you need to plan one whole day for each.
disapointment
we stayed here for 11 days. the first 2 days the water was very nice but after that it became very rough. They put the red flags out and the day before we left we seen the life guard go in after 2 different people.

I am looking to book this hotel in December, how is the weather normally?2 answers
5 years, 68 months ago
Princeton, NJ
December is a very cool time to visit Cancun, Mexico, when the average temperature is 24°C, created by highs of 28°C at the hottest part of the day, cooling down to 21°C after sunset. During this winter month, the resort enjoys eight hours of sunshine each day and an average sea temperature of 27°C. With 109mm of rainfall over five days, there is a small chance you’ll experience a shower during your holiday.
BethCC
The weather is beautiful! That was never a problem I went for a week and it didn't rain once.

I am wondering if the vip is worth doing, and what exactly the boat trip is
5 years, 62 months ago

The Crown Club room type will provide you with the opportunity for a more personalized, luxurious experience. We recommend it if you are celebrating something special or looking for adults only and want the "bells and whistles" that a guest staying at the regular level will not receive.
The boat ride is a lunch cruise around the lagoon and coast with open bar.
CCGreg
No VIPs is not worth the money, the only perk is the vid lounge and its inside on the 8th floor... And it's the only place with wifi.

The difference between a balcony and terrace is the room placement. Rooms on higher floors will have balconies, while rooms on the ground level will have a patio, or terrace. Rooms on the ground floor will generally be accessible from the outside.

If you're younger than 24 you have to pay a fee to stay at this resort?2 answers
The Student/Youth Policy stated in the information section contradicts itself. It says travelers ages 18-24 are not allowed at this resort, then it continues to say travelers 18-24 will be subject to pay a $30 fee upon check in. So my question is if you are between those ages is there going to be issues checking in? Or If you pay the Student/Youth fee then everything is ok?

Sam
Unfortunately the resort will not allow anyone 18-24 without someone 25 years of age or older in the room. Policy is as follows:
Spring Break
No student groups or spring breakers allowed. All guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a guest 25 years of age or older who must either share the same room or be in a nearby room. If travel is booked and you fail to meet these requirements, you may be denied check-in and/or incur penalty fees.
JeannieCC
We were just there all over 18. There was no fee whatsoever for us.

Hotel Description
Crown Paradise Club Cancun: It's Family Fun in the Caribbean Sun
With seven bars, a disco, evening shows and kids' clubs for babies to teens,
it's no surprise that Crown Paradise Club Cancun is listed in the "Top 10 for
Families in Latin America and the Caribbean" by TripAdvisor. Families love this
all inclusive resort that specializes in nightly entertainment.
Unlike other resorts that have one basic kids' club, Crown Paradise Cancun
breaks down the fun by age group. For the youngsters, Baby Paradise has an
air-conditioned clubhouse and cushioned playground. (Don't worry - the staff
can locate you by pager any time your little one needs you.) At Kids' Paradise,
4- 12-year-olds sail the seven seas on a pirate's ship complete with water
chutes, slides and water cannons.
Teens have access to the Teen Paradise Club at Crown Paradise Club Cancun,
where they can make new friends over a game of ping-pong or soccer. When the
sun sets, teen fun really begins at the Nitro Club where teens can dance the
night away, while sipping non-alcoholic drinks at the moon party. They can also
play electronic games in Jetix.
Meanwhile, knowing that the kids are safe and having fun, parents get to let
their hair down at Trafalgars Bar, bustin' a move on the dance floor. Admire
the ocean view between songs while you "rehydrate" with a cold one. Even
better, clock out for some romance by booking the couple's room in the hotel's
spa. A little dip in the two-person hot tub makes this trip feel like a second
honeymoon.
When it's feedin' time, Crown Paradise Cancun's seven restaurants have
enough choices for picky eaters and enough food for ravenous teens. Wayne's
Boots, the "Old West" steakhouse, is sure to be a hit with its line dancing and
mechanical bull. Everyone will need to chow down to stay fueled for the lineup
of all inclusive beach activities. Start off with a bike ride along the shore,
or get a little more adventurous with windsurfing or other exciting water
sports. After all, nothing strengthens a family's bond like that first attempt
at sailing.
This hotel is All-Inclusive.
Features include:
All taxes, service charges and gratuities
All meals and snacks daily
24-hour food and room service (with $5 service fee per order)

These upgrades are planned for most of the standard rooms located in the Paradise Tower.
In order to not disturb guests, the work area will be blocked off and the following work program will be being followed: Work will start on the 7th floor from rooms 1723-1734 (maximum of 15 rooms at a time) to be completed within 15 days. Once the first block is completed, they will work on the next set of 15 rooms on the same floor until they complete all 48 rooms per floor. This blocking scheme of 15 rooms every 15 days will continue until the work is completed. Work will take place from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00PM until all of the work is completed.
