Awesome experience!

I stayed at the Sunscape Cove Resort and Spa from August 24-29 2019. From my arrival to the hotel, I was impressed from the check -in and the friendly smiles and warm welcome from the front desk clerk. I want to personally give a 5 stars ***** rating to these staffs. Daneisha, Jermaine, Mr. Jump, and Muta, from the restaurant. Sasha-Gay from the Spa, and Claudia from house keeping. These workers are an importance assess to the hotel because of their exceptional customer service. They were very courteous and always have a friendly smile while serving you. I really enjoyed my time there and will definitely recommend the Sunscape Cove Resort and Spa to family and friends

The only Sunscape Cove review to read

If you were like me, you were looking for a great value that also included features for the young ones. And if you were like me, you've seen the reviews/ratings for Sunscape - Cheapcarribean gives it 4/5 sun rating. The pictures on here look great, as well.. So we bit. We arrived early (11am), well before our room was available. We were allowed to go change into swimwear and leave our luggage until check-in, which was great. However, it was then that the "adventure" began. - Beach Towels: after changing we went to get beach towels, only to find there were none. After checking back every 30 minutes (each time we checked they said they'd have some in 30 minutes) for a couple of hours, we realized they'd never have any. We spoke to other guests and we were informed that if you do not get a towel as soon as they open in the morning, you will not have a towel all day. When we finally checked-in to our room, the front desk actually informed us that we'd be advised to keep our towels if we're lucky enough to get one. - Room towels: our room only had two towels (no hand towels, no wash clothes) for 3 people. After cleaning our room every day, we'd have to make several calls to the front desk asking for more towels to be brought because house keeping didn't leave enough. Each time it took 3-4 calls to get anything moving. We heard horror stories from other guests about trying to get simple amenities like towels and cups. - Coffee mugs: in addition to towels in the room, we only had one coffee cup. Each time I called for towels, I asked for another cup. We never received one. Each morning I would walk to the restaurant and take a cup from the table back to the room. Housekeeping would take 2 cups from the room each day, and replace it with 1. - Restaurants: the food was not bad, about what you can expect from a mid-tier resort. The Barefoot grill was extremely lacking and underwhelming. The buffet was one of the weakest buffets I've seen at a resort. The dress code was always a crap-shoot. I'd see a man wearing flip-flops and a tank one evening, only to be told my 8 year old could not wear a tank top the next evening. - Staff: the staff at the Cove-only spots (lobby bar and restaurant) were extremely nice. The rest, however, left a lot to be desired. I get the slowness of island time, I'm not worried about that. But many times the bartenders and servers were rude. - Kids area: the slides were very nice, although where sections of the slide connected there was not smooth transitions and would scrape you at times. The pirate ship? That is a waste of space. It's closed, it's old, and if you convince someone to open it up, you'll regret even going in. There's nothing of interest there and it smells of mold and old age. I'm not sure why it's even listed as an attraction. - Outdoor activities: we utilized the kayaks, which were nice. Easy to reserve and use. The miniature golf was terrible. The course was terrible. Plus, it rained one day and the course remained flooded for the duration of the stay. The basketball goal was broken and just hanging there. The tennis courts were almost unusable. - Beach: the beach was very nice. Plenty of chairs, shade and very relaxing. Multiple areas along the beach to setup for the day. - Room: we paid extra for the partial beach view. I could partially see the beach if I walked 3 feet out of the patio into the courtyard. A waste of extra money that I believe was a ripoff.

What's to Love

Feeling like royalty during the red carpet check-in while nibbling on frozen treats.

Every room is upgraded to The Sun Club, a family-centric program that features fun things for the kids like cartoons in the rooms & milk and cookies.

Kids get a resort passport that kicks off a scavenger hunt (read: keeps them occupied so you can chill).

The Pirate's Paradise Waterpark (shiver me timbers!) that includes a pirate ship and a 40-foot plank for wayward mutineers.

Getting pampered at the spa with stress-ousting massages, rejuvenating facials, and more. (A nice break from all the pirate stuff.)

What We'd Change

Sometimes the restaurants are busy, but you don't need reservations and the resort staff is eager to get you in as soon as possible.

Why You Should Go

Spectacular snorkeling at Montego Bay Marine Park, Jamaica's first underwater national park with protected swimming areas.

It sits on a private peninsula that boasts over 1,800 feet of beachtastic white sand with palapas, under which you can find your perch.

Dunns River Falls, a famous, rockin' waterfall, is near.

Eco-adventure tours are available, and waiting for you. Bring your bug spray.

It's near the "Hip Strip," a cultural epi-center filled with handcrafts by local artisans, Jamaican food and island hospitality, Mon.

Golf is available just 30 minutes away. Schwing.

No irritating wristbands required.
