    Best place in the world

We stayed at Caribe deluxe princess in February for a belated honeymoon and upgraded to platinum upon arrival. We were given a beautiful room with a great Seaview. The platinum lounge was a huge hit for us, the a la carte breakfast & lunch here was incredible every day. Agustin, Cepin, and Andres work so hard all day long and really made our time special. The sports bar has great snacks and is nicely air conditioned, we enjoyed watching the England six nations match here one afternoon. Pools are incredible and the grounds are so well maintained with various wildlife around the hotel, everywhere is cleaned to a really high standard and the beach was such a highlight for us, the platinum sunbeds are fantastic. The ice cream & coffee shop are also worth mentioning, lovely fresh cakes every day and usually a peacock hanging around the terrace. The shuttle bus was a helpful way to get around but we did prefer a walk most evenings after such great food, i cant comment on the buffet as we did not eat there with so many other options. The A la carte restaurants were so good we visited all of them, some more than once (Mexican, seafood & tepenyaki). To anyone reading the reviews on here and being put off this hotel, i must say go and experience it for yourself, we had a great 11 nights, it was the best time in paradise surrounded by such lovely fun people, we enjoyed it so much we have booked to come back again in December 2025 with our children and can not wait to return!

    An experience to remember

Summary I was a little worried when I first booked due to the varying in reviews. However, I would always encourage people to experience things for themselves as perspectives can be subjective. With that being said, despite my fears this hotel was an absolute dream. I have been to an array of all inclusive vacations and this one falls in my top five. Immediate attention was given from arrival to departure. We were greeted with welcome drinks, the workers at the lobby was extremely helpful and accommodating to my family of eight even switching room three times for us to accommodate my grandmother who has issues walking. The staff at this hotel was always very kind towards us, greeting us every morning. The cleaners were sweet leaving flowers in the room and a stocked fridge. I have read reviews about the pool chairs always being booked but for my family we always got seats despite how crowded the hotel seemed. Food The food at the buffet was highly repetitive and got tiring after some time. The buffet was actually the reason why I gave the hotel 4 stars instead of 5. The waiters and waitresses at the buffet was really nice especially Ana who always greeted us and ensured we were well taken care of. Because of the buffet not being our favorite we opted to visit two restaurants instead that being Nopal (Mexican) and Fogo (Brazilian). At Nopal we waited almost forty minutes for our table despite having a 8:30pm reservation, we then waited an additional hour for the appetizers and found out that the waiter only wrote 5 appetizers instead of 8 for my family of 8. We then waited a really long time for drinks having to ask a number of times for them. The entres were okay and as time went on we realized that we were the only ones in the restaurant. A family of 8 came in almost an hour and a half after us, They sat beside us and received there appetizers, entres, desserts and left the restaurant while we sat there still waiting for our desserts. The staff were nice but it seemed as if there were no order or communication. It felt like we were begging them for food because at every point at the a la carte we had to ask for our food. Like I said the staff were really nice but their lack of efficiency was visible. I would think twice before going here but I would recommend one experience it for themselves, your experience may be better than mine. On the positive side, Fogo was completely different, the staff was efficient and the experience was unreal. My family couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the restaurant was. We got our table at the time we reserved them for, the moment we sat down we got our appetizers and drink and from there it was an experience unlike any other the constant service of food, check ins from the waiters just added to the galore. We were served on swords of meat and every aspect of this restaurant was an absolute dining experience and I recommend everyone try it out. Kanalla the sports bar has really nice food and is delicious for a midday snack. I loved the wings there. The beach bar has amazing food as well for anyone wanting a quick snack while in the pool or beach. We visited the coffee shop almost every day and the pastries and drinks were always delicious, the ice cream shop was also very enjoyable offering a variety of unconventional ice-cream flavors as a picky eater I encourage you to try. Fun Since researching this place I wanted to play mini golf, and we did and it was so much fun. We ended up getting the entire course for our selves and it was such an amazing experience and a must try when visiting. The foam party was another thing I was super excited for and it exceeded my expectations, I had so much fun at the party and I hope others get to experience it as well, it was on Wednesday at 3-5pm. The only disappointment was that I saw on the hotel's instagram that during the party balloons were shared. However, none was given on our day which was a slight disappointment as I was looking forward to it. It is important to note that bowling is not free despite no warning of it being a paid activity, my family went to bowl as it was listed as one of the activities there and then we found out it cost $10usd per person to play. The animation team tries very hard to differentiate themselves and I appreciate that a lot. They do so by offering an array of various entertainment such as a circus, a show, a beach party and a dance party. There was always something new to look forward to every night. Gift Shop I heard many say that the gift shop was overpriced and some items seemed so but others not so much. Basic souvenirs like bracelets ($6usd) , magnets ($8usd) were not overpriced and so I purchased those. I even purchased a handmade fan which also didn't seem over priced at $12usd. T-shirts and handbags were definitely overpriced at $30-$40 usd so you may want to look elsewhere. Miscellaneous The wifi at the resort worked well for me and my family despite the reviews, we did not have premium wifi and was still able to do all that we wanted to do with the basic wifi. I was able to get wifi at various points at the resort with no issues. The beach was filled seaweed and despite efforts you were still unable to bathe in their which was unfortunate. There is an outpouring of mosquitoes. I killed countless mosquitoes in my room during my stay so please walk with insect repellant. The train at the resort was very convenient especially for my grandmother, it does not take long to get one and they take you to various points at the resort. I personally enjoyed the animals, it was a joy seeing a flamingo and peacock in real life for the very first time. My dad was also very fascinated by the amount of iguanas at the nature section. Overall It was an amazing vacation, my family had an wonderful time. It did not feel like a budget or cheap hotel but a well deserved five star hotel. Yes the food at the buffet has some areas of improvement but other than that everything else was simply outstanding. I enjoyed every moment and aspect of this place and I do recommend you try it for yourself. You won't regret your stay at the Caribe Deluxe Princess

    Lovely grounds, bad food!

The resort is lovely and well kept, with friendly staff particularly at the pool bar and by the pool where they have the entertainment. Javier Peguero was particularly helpful when by the pool. A really friendly man with a friendly aura. The sea pro men who sell the excursions were also very friendly and helpful. My room did smell abit damp on arrival and I think the hotel could refine some of the smaller details to make the stay a little more luxurious. The food at the hotel was shockingly bad, even at the restaurants. The buffet was full of pork, which I dont eat. Also, because of the wrist bands given for room entry had long dangling string, I saw many people's dip into the food when serving themselves, and this was a concern, particularly due to potential contamination after toilet use. I liked the beach house food which was served from 11.30am. Usually had fried chicken, chips, chicken tortilla wraps, pasta, nachos, and fresh fruit. The evening entertainment was also medicore and often on really late. The All White Party on the beach was something we were all really looking forward to as a family, but this was also extremely mediocre. The foam party in the pool was great fun, but alot of the other pool entertainment wasnt particularly family friendly and included bikini competitions and dancing competitions where women were dancing sexually in front of kids. This wasn't a bother to me, but worth mentioning. Overall it was a good stay and we had a lovely holiday, but if I was to visit DR again, I wouldn't stay at this hotel.

    Second time unlucky!

I had originally travelled to Caribe Deluxe with my friends in March for our birthday, which was such a lovely holiday that I decided I would return for 10 days in May/June. With a change of season, it was sad to see so much seaweed there this time compared to March, but it really was beyond the hotel's capability to remove it. Don't get me wrong the sea was still just as beautiful, the wildlife and the pond are all lovely. Annoyingly, the mangroves between the lobby and the pool/beach absolutely stinks and is a haven for mosquitoes. If only you could sort out that smell. I had managed to get a booking at TAO, the Asian Fusion restaurant which I remembered from last time as being my favourite of them all. Sadly, the next day I had severe diarrhoea and as an English person, I took the necessary precautions, I took Immodium, Diorylite and had some rest. I missed breakfast but for lunch I had some bread and a banana. Safe as houses I thought. However, that evening thinking I was feeling ok, I went to El Pilon, the Dominican Republic restaurant and to my horror saw a cockroach run across the restaurant to which I called the waiter - la cucaracha aqui - and watched them all run over to try and capture the insect. I was put off my dinner and promptly left. My diarrhoea continued for several days after which I had run out of immodium. So I bought the next best thing at the shop Pepto Bismol for 17USD!! Rip off! Sadly this did not help either and after a visit to the doctor on site, he immediately called a taxi and I was admitted to hospital with severe dehydration. I ended up in Hospiten Bavaro for a night (as thankfully my flight back to the UK was the next day). I was absolutely shocked to hear that some other guests at the hotel had also been unwell with severe diarrhoea and were hospitalised at the same time. Please can the manager take immediate action of the cleanliness of food served here. This is very worrying! This resort once meant so much to me and my friends and sad to say we definitely won't be back any time soon.
