Not What It Used To Be

Let me start off by saying my wife and I got married at this resort a little over a year ago. We chose it because the service was amazing when we previously vacationed here, the grounds were beautiful and immaculate and the room was fantastic. We have only stayed on the Reserve side and have been here 3 times. With that being said, this will be our LAST stay here as we were very dissatisfied with the treatment we received for this stay. Day #1 - we arrive around 1PM and are told our room will be ready shortly. 2PM passes. 3PM passes. We complain to management at about 315PM and they change our room because the room we were assigned was not ready. Shower time... Except the shower barely has any pressure. We notify 2 people and figured they would fix it while we are out to dinner. We finally get settled in and head out to dinner and are told we cannot be seated because the restaurant was booked. I am looking at about 10 empty tables with no sign of more customers coming. We then go to a close by restaurant that seats us (after arguing the same) and have a view of the restaurant we were denied. Not only did those tables never fill but it almost completely emptied out while we were eating. Why were we turned away then?? Day #2 - the lobby calls us to make our dinner reservations for the week at 745AM so we go down to the lobby and give our selections and times. Then they take that list and do nothing with it because as it turns out we find out later that day that NONE of the reservations were made. Here we go.... We now take a shower and also find that nobody fixed our shower. Ridiculous. Now our dinner reservations were made.... But all for 945PM and they know we are here with a child. So now we are fighting with them again to correct our reservations. 2 days into the trip. Keep in mind all of the restaurants we went to had at least 40% empty tables. We also had to call multiple times to have the sofa bed made with sheets for our son. Room had no clothes iron. I would not recommend this resort any longer

Great place for families with small children!

My husband and I stayed at this resort for five days and four nights with our two small children who are 5 and 3 years old. It was an amazing first trip for the kids. We paid for a family concierge room and it was amazing. Our family concierge Sandra took very good care of us, including setting up dinner reservations at a different restaurant each night, planning surprises for the kids, and reserving cabanas and beach huts for us. Pros: family concierge definitely worth it, pools were beautiful and kids pool was amazingly fun for the little ones, 24hr room services, rooms were fully stocked (beverages and snacks refilled every 24hrs free of charge), very small children friendly. Cons: resort was huge so needed to take the shuttle buses to most places, food at all the restaurant were average (I expected better for such a popular resort but still appetizing). The steakhouse was the best meal because the steak was amazingly delicious. Our server Ramon, at the Italian restaurant, was wonderful. He took care of us very well and made sure we were satisfied with the food and service. The kids liked him as well! I would definitely recommend to families with children.

Awesome resort! Amazing customer service!

If you are like me, you glean through many reviews before deciding upon a resort and vacation spot. This is an amazing resort, especially for families. It was very clean, and the rooms were spacious in that we had our own separate bedroom area from the children. The resort grounds were beautiful, and not as large as many other resorts we have visited. My husband even made the comment that we are definitely coming back to this resort. I think the key is to stay in the Reserve portion as it is smaller, less crowded and family oriented. Henry was extremely helpful, and was always checking in on us. We also enjoyed Naomi's family yoga class on the beach as well. The food and drinks were much better than most other all-inclusive resorts in which we have stayed over the years. The beach was beautiful, but storms had caused a large seaweed problem. However, crews worked tirelessly to dispose of the seaweed daily. Do not be discouraged by that. The view is amazing, and you never have to fight for chairs, or get up at 5 am to reserve your spot. All in all, an amazing experience, and we can't wait to return!

Great vacation

Spent a week here with my family. Stayed at The Reserve. Great resort, well kept, great room (Master Bedroom Suite). Dining options were somewhat lacking that little bit extra, but as to be expected at such a resort. Pools were great, bar staff great, entertainment and activities non-stop. Staff always friendly and willing to help. Only negative: Seaweed! Mountains of it. Not the resorts fault, they certainly tried to manage it. Could have been done with perhaps a little bit more haste, but there is sometimes only so much one can do when dealing with mother nature. The last day at the beach was fantastic after most of it had cleared. Overall a great vacation, worth a repeat visit.
