Not a 5 star, but still had an amazing time. You gotta make the best of it :)

Before I came here, I read reviews. This was a planned family outing put on by our in-laws who chose the resort. The reviews had me terrified. Honestly, I think some people expect Royalty Treatment on a Champagne budget. We had a great time. The resort is HUGE, so my only complaint, not even complaint, my only thought for improvement, would be to have service carts driving around offering people lifts to and from their rooms, some of them are quite far. Ours was in the middle, still a hike nonetheless. The food was what I expected. Various choices each night, lots of fruit and veg, soups, cheese and meats. People complaining of flies... uh yes, of course there are. Im sure there are flies in your home too when you cook meals. We only did the Japenese al a carte, the chefs made it fun. There was always food available throughout the day at various locations. The pool, was, MASSIVE. A portion of the pool must be about 7ft deep. Which I thought was awesome! There are two swim up bars, we traveled from one bar to the next (i recommend bringing a floaty or buying one there for $9USD, your arms will get tired and you may spill your bevy ;). Bring a yeti maybe? There are two low bridges between the bars, you can either get out and walk around, or do what we did and army crawl over the one, and swim on an angle at the other lol. People complaining about the dirt and tiles, yes everyone, the pool is beside the beach, it happens. Tiles?? I thought the pool looked pretty good considering the population. They shock and clean the pool before everyone gets up, I saw it myself. The rooms, we got a family suite, it was small for a suite, but we just slept in it. Our shower was fine, lots of towels and scented TP. Fridge was always stocked and fresh water bottles given daily. Our safe was broken, yes. They said to call when we were in our room and someone will fix it. We didn't, we just hid our valuables. The room served its purpose. Plenty of booze, no shortage at the bars like some people complained about back in October, as I had read. Staff were great. Very interactive with the guests. Lots to do for the kids. Tipsy bartender on the beach, soccer, volleyball, wagon races in the pool, aerobics and more. Even when it was thundering out, we still had a foam party in the pool! The people on the beach with the monkey, parrot and iguana, they will tell you to venom, cashapp, or PayPal to them. Tell them no. The guy with the monkey came up to me (I love monkeys) and I said, "I have no money", so I got to hold the monkey for a bit. Then he asked for money, I said, "nope, but thanks for letting me hold your monkey".. and that was that. Security does chase them off the beach! Excursions.... we only did the Dune buggies through Adventure Buggies? I cant quite recall the name. It involves a trip to the cave with a dj, cultural dance, chocolate and coffee. It was fun, but I expected A LOT more fun with the dune buggies, more puddles, more fun. Don't expect a 10/10 dune buggy experience, it was a 6/10. $60USD per person. So not terrible! You also DONT need to buy the bandanas at the resort for $5. They will tell you they sell them for $15 at the excursions, that's a lie lol Night time entertainment was alright. Shows start at 930, that was about my bedtime lol. I wish they had a white dance party. I checked out the disco, it was terrible. Only some of us got sick for a day, kind of expected when you eat various foods in a new country. If you've read this far, I hope I gave you some sort of relief that this place isn't terrible. 5 star? No, 4 star at best. It was still a great time. Oh and the beach and ocean were fantastic. Tons of seating at beach and pool!

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana aka Fawlty Towers Punta Cana

We booked what was supposed to be a dream two-week honeymoon with TUI, only to end up feeling like guests in a real-life episode of Fawlty Towers. What looked like a beautiful hotel on paper turned out to be a complete disappointment from the moment we arrived. Check-in was smooth, but things went downhill fast. When we reached our room, we found the shower head wouldn’t stay in place and the safe didn’t work. That meant carrying our money, passports, and jewellery with us everywhere because we couldn’t leave them securely in the room. We reported both issues immediately and were assured they would be fixed — they weren’t. By day two, nothing had been addressed. That evening we tried to use the whirlpool bath, only to discover it wouldn’t drain. We reported everything again the next morning to TUI, the main desk, and the concierge. We were told to return to the room and wait for maintenance, which cost us two and a half hours of our honeymoon — time we should have been enjoying, not sitting around waiting. The hotel representative messaged us saying they would arrange “something special” to make up for the inconvenience. We’re now on day nine, and nothing has been mentioned since. The shower has already broken again, and we’ve given up reporting it. The dining experience has been just as disappointing. Several of the so-called “à la carte” restaurants are nowhere near that standard — some are slightly better than the buffet, others are far worse. Food has been dirty, poorly prepared, and in some cases not something I’d even serve to a dog. As a chef myself, I’m shocked by the food safety practices: cross-contamination everywhere, flies around the food, hot food left at unsafe temperatures, and chefs handling defrosting burgers directly in the sink used for washing hands before placing them on the grill. It’s genuinely surprising that guests aren’t becoming seriously ill. The hotel itself has completely ruined what should have been a romantic and memorable honeymoon. The only positives have been our outstanding cleaner and the generally polite staff — although many seem unwilling or unable to help when needed. Adding to everything, we were invited to what was described as a “VIP breakfast,” which turned out to be nothing more than a pushy sales pitch. After spending £4,000 on this holiday, we were told we should pay £15,000 to join their membership scheme — another three hours of our time wasted. The only saving grace of this trip has been the excursions we booked, which were genuinely memorable. Sadly, the hotel and overall experience provided through TUI have been nothing short of a disappointment, and certainly not the honeymoon we hoped or paid for.

    Unacceptable!!

Please avoid this hotel at all costs. There is zero concept of food hygiene and customer service. I feel that someone will become critically unwell before something changes I have pictures that will inform a larger complaint to anyone that will listen. We are just counting down the days to go home Avoid ULC at all costs and please 🙏 do your research before committing to an.expensive upgrade. The quality of food should be the same standard .. shame on sirenis!! I will be sharing photos on as many social media platforms as I can. You ruined 😒 our honeymoon

NICE BEACH & WATER SLIDES -- food is quite bad.

6 adults - two kids. We were there Nov 3-14th, 2025. 2 adult rooms and 1 double family room. Beautiful beach, warm ocean waters -- kids liked the water slides -- there are slides for all ages in 3 different areas. Well done. Plus there are pools for all ages and huge. Food including specialty restaurants (and we tried all of them) ...are all mediocre at best. The restaurants by far outshine the two buffets -- but that is not saying a whole lot. I promise you - we are honestly not picky eaters at all. The Service staff and staff in general are all very gracious, polite and helpful throughout the hotel. The entertainment at nights is all but non existent and if it occurred at all who knows. We waited. ...there are no early shows and the 930pm shows never started even when we waited well past 10pm. There were a few children's events earlier in the evenings twice in the 10 days we were there. Daytime activities for children and adults were minimal but the kids seemed to have fun -- they liked the circus afternoon, basketball challenge and the 2 pool floaty climbs. The rooms are ok -- beds are comfortable. The rooms need some updating. The safes dont always work, in the 3 rooms we had amongst our group. There is some paint peeling in places and the bathrooms have some mold around the glass. They are not bad at all but time for an update. The towel rack is extreamly high and truthfully a 5ft person can never reach them. I had to climb up every day to get the towels down for my wife. The number one improvement this hotel needs is some benches along the walkways. I know this sounds picky -- but the Sirenis we stayed in last year in Mexico has 10,000 benches -- everywhere. In Mexico we could sit (if you have bad knees like me) -- or when waiting to meet family for dinner. This Dominican Sirenis does NOT HAVE ONE BENCH !! I mean not one bench anywhere along the 12 miles of paths they have throughout the resort. I know this sounds shallow or like a silly complaint -- but I assure you when you live it for 10 days -- it truly is a major over sight. The beaches as I said are beautiful, the ocean and huge pools are warm and relaxing. Their are lots of lounge chairs throughout the resort. The food is adequate and passable but like I said certainly not great. Make your mind up to have fun and you will have a nice vacation. If you can afford a little bit higher level hotel you may want to consider it. Thank you, Steven G.

Great Beach, Decent Stay, but Falls Short in Key Areas

Here’s a polished, traveler-friendly version tailored for TripCentral—clear, fair, and helpful without sounding harsh: ⸻ Grand Sirenis Punta Cana – Honest Review Our recent stay at Grand Sirenis Punta Cana was enjoyable overall and met the basic needs for a family vacation, but it’s not a resort we would likely return to or recommend over other options in the area. Rooms: We booked a family room, which offered adequate space, but the setup isn’t the most family-friendly. The room included a king bed and a pull-out sofa, which wasn’t ideal. A bunk-style layout (queen on the bottom, single on top) would make much better use of the space. The room itself was clean but a bit worn, similar to what we’ve seen at many all-inclusive properties. Food: There was always plenty of variety and the presentation was consistently nice, but overall the flavors fell short. The effort is clearly there, but the resort could benefit from a stronger culinary direction to elevate the dining experience. Staff: Staff were generally friendly. Wilkins at the beach bar and our waiter at the French restaurant stood out for their great service, and we had pleasant experiences with staff in Samana as well. Beach: The best part of the resort. Lots of shade, easy access to the water, and never overly crowded. A beautiful, relaxing spot. Overall: We enjoyed our trip and it checked the major boxes, but it wasn’t one of our favorites. With so many excellent resorts along this stretch of beach, we’d be inclined to try a different property next time.
