The perfect elopement at a stunning resort!
We had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Secrets Cap Cana (our 3rd time at this resort!), thanks to the exceptional staff who went above and beyond at every turn. Our concierge, Leonardo, was outstanding—personable, helpful, and impressively efficient. He anticipated our needs daily with a thoughtful, personal touch that made our stay seamless. Our wedding coordinator, Francisco, made the entire process stress-free and truly magical. His warmth, attention to detail, and effortless management of the ceremony made our wedding day unforgettable. He is a remarkable professional who deserves the highest praise. Victor from Adventure Photography was phenomenal—creative, professional, and a joy to work with. Thanks to him, we have stunning wedding photos that beautifully capture our special day. Tania at the spa exceeded all expectations with her hair and makeup artistry. She was kind, attentive, and seamlessly incorporated feedback from the trial into a flawless wedding day look. I’m so grateful to her for helping me feel beautiful and confident. At the beach, Xiomara and Olga provided exceptional service with warmth and friendliness that made our beach days truly relaxing and enjoyable. Special shout out to Maria who is always so kind and warm. The restaurant staff were all excellent, but special thanks go to Robin, Geraldo, Eddy, Stiwar, and Dani, whose service consistently surpassed our expectations. Robin, in particular, elevated our dining experiences with perfect wine pairings and an unforgettable private dinner in the Portofino’s wine room. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made our celebration so memorable!

Secrets Cap Cana
This place is so amazing! Booked it through Brianna at Apple Vacations for our honeymoon. It was a great selection. The staff was amazing, the food was incredible and the ocean views were stunning.

Nice hotel but food let's it down
We traveled from the UK on 23rd June to 7th July. On arrival we were greeted at reception with a cold towel and pink champagne and then checked in. We were non preferred and were introduced to our concierge Carlitto who showed us to our room in building 3 room 3520 which was on the top floor and had a lovely view of the sea. The room was lovely and immaculately clean. There was a slight musty smell but that soon disappeared. However our clothes always felt damp. Only criticism was that the wardrobe was very small and only 6 hangers which when staying for two weeks was a bit small. Hairdryer in the bathroom was adequate and did the job. The hotel and grounds are stunning and we spent every day by the infinity pool. Our two servers over the 2 weeks were Yohanni and dahania (I think that was her name) who kept us hydrated all day. Good choice of drinks and cocktails and were very well made especially by sandy and Manuel at the swim up bar. We really enjoyed the buffet at breakfast and lunch an amazing choice which was lovely although as we have come to expect with buffets the food is never hot. However we were not at all impressed with the a la carte restaurants. The himitsu was dreadful and the food we left. The service was terrible and they brought our appetisers and soup out at the same time. The main meal came out literally as they were clearing the plates from the appetisers and we were out of the restaurant in 35 minutes from start to finish. My main was pork and beef egg fried rice which was basically fried plain rice with a few pieces of inedible beef and pork in it with a fried egg thrown on top we literally had to laugh at their concept of egg fried rice. Tex Mex restaurant we didn't like. Portofino my favourite dish was the fillet with orzo pasta which I had twice and was hot and cooked perfectly. The lasagne was awful and was only barely warm on a hot plate. We visited the French restaurant twice. The first time our starters did not come out at the same time. The food was again not hot. Francesca came over and asked how our meal and service was and as Brits we do not complain but we did share our observations as to our disappointment with our experiences in the a la carte restaurants. She then insisted she book our a la cartes for us from them and said she would make sure we had hot food and good service sadly it was not up to our expectations. We did however like oceana this was by far the best cooked food we had by far. Sadly we can say out of the 14 nights of eating I can say only 5 or 6 of those meals were good and that was not the whole of the eating experience of any particular restaurant on any one night. We however wished there was a buffet restaurant open in the evening and if I had realized there wasn't one I would not have booked this hotel. We did try the Dominican buffet night on the terrace but that was absolutely dreadful. Coco Cafe I have to say did amazing coffees. It was my birthday whilst I was there and Carlitto asked what I wanted. I said I would love a birthday banner and a bottle of champagne in the room. I didn't require any cake or fruit platter. However on my birthday which was on 2nd July I was disappointed not to have a banner on our door and my name was also not on the birthday list on the daily itinerary. I messaged Carlitto to say I was disappointed but could we have a bottle of champagne in our room for 530pm. He replied 'how would I know miss you didn't tell me it was your birthday miss'. Now this concierge we saw on the day we arrived when we told him about my birthday. I then happened to bump into him 3 days later and reminded him about my birthday the following Wednesday so I was totally gob smacked by his reply. All he did for us was send us the daily itinerary and message once the first week saying he was looking for us everywhere. I told him that we were down by the infinity pool where we were every day for the two weeks. We never saw him once there were other concierges who regularly checked on their guests daily by the pool. Apart from the first and third day we never saw him again in the two weeks we were there. He messaged on the last day to let him know what time we would be leaving so he could arrange for our cases to be picked up. I had already arranged it myself through reception as he definitely wasn't someone we could rely on. I certainly would not recommend him to anyone especially if you like having the concept of a butler. We did have a relaxing couple of weeks as the hotel overall was lovely and we spent our days by the infinity pool. We enjoyed the entertainment at night and although we never participated in the activities throughout the day with the entertainment, I have to say that all the entertainment staff were so friendly. Our stand out member of staff was la Diva who I absolutely adored. She found me every day just to say hello what a lovely young lady she is. Also big shout out to Scooby Doo who we went on a bike tour with. Very informative and nice young man. We found tipping culture absolutely unbelievable just throwing money at staff. This is typically Americans and we found this astounding. We do tip but not to the extent that the Americans do. We paid a lot of money to come to this hotel but unfortunately due to the food it did not meet our expectations. We would not book to go to a secrets hotel again due to the confinement of a la carte restaurants which unfortunately were not that good. We are well traveled all over the world but the food let this hotel down on this occasion.

Didn’t want to leave!
Great experience. Beautiful resort. Food was amazing! We upgraded to preferred, our butler Ricardo was absolutely amazing. Ricardo is extremely attentive, answered all questions and requests, he made the entire trip worth the preferred experience. Maria and the girls at the preferred pool are the best, kept the drinks coming!

Truly special
This was our second visit to Secrets Cap Cana, staying on the Preferred side for two weeks. This trip was extra special as we got married here, celebrated our honeymoon, and my husband’s birthday. We can’t recommend this place enough! A huge thank you to our amazing butler Carlos , he looked after us so well and nothing was ever too much trouble. Saying goodbye to him on our last day was very emotional. We’ll always remember his famous words: “Relaxxx, Carlos always around.” He will always be in our hearts! We miss him already. If you stay preferred side always request Carlos! Our wedding coordinator George was fantastic, nothing was ever to much trouble and he looked after us so well. We chose the Elope in Luxury package and it was truly magical from start to finish. Huge thank you also to Massiel at the spa, who did my hair and makeup. She listened to exactly what I wanted and then made it even better , such a lovely and talented lady! A massive thank you as well to Miguel at adventures photos, he did such a wonderful job with our wedding photos! #sexyleg We also highly recommend the spa. We did the $499 package, which included fish therapy, four 50-minute treatments, and unlimited hydrotherapy access. Since we stayed for two weeks, we used the spa almost daily, very relaxing with a friendly and welcoming team who remembered us every day. Since our last visit two years ago, the food menu has improved significantly. We enjoyed all the restaurants and never had a bad meal as such, yes sometimes it could of been better but we still enjoyed it, I would say it would be nice to also have an evening buffet . Special shoutouts to Eddie at Bordeaux and Carlos at Seaside Grill, Carlos even remembered us from our last visit, which was really special and it was so lovely to see him again. Aneury at the buffet at lunch was also fantastic, so friendly and bubbly! He would be so perfect for one of the restaurants in the evenings. We loved the silent disco it so much fun! Evening entertainment was okay, though we missed the old lead singer from the Queen show, it’s not the same. It would be great to have a few more evening activities going on. Thank you also to Francey and Miguel at the Preferred Lounge, Rihanna and Laydi from the entertainment team, Fidelena our poolside waitress, and Miguel (number one) who brought us towels every morning. The housekeeping team deserves a big thank you too, everything was spotless including the public bathrooms they are the most cleanest toilets! Secrets Cap Cana will always be in our hearts , it’s the wonderful staff who make this resort so special. We will miss this place a lot and hopefully we will be able to return again in the future.
