Great Value

A great adult only location for couples or individuals who want to just get up and walk to the beach. Long stretch of white sand that is great for walking and swimming. We loved having access to the neighboring resorts so we could explore different restaurants each night of our stay. Wonderful dinning options. The jacuzzi baths in suite were great after a day at the beach. Nice low key entertainment and dancing nightly. Staff very friendly and felt like family. Would recommend to others and return.

Just pack your bags and get down here!

My wife and I recently returned from one week at the Punta Cana Princess All Suites Resort in December. If I had to describe it in one word it would be “fantastic.” As a testament to this statement, we just rebooked our next vacation here for March. We really didn’t know what to expect but I had been reading the most recent reviews and they were all extremely positive, so I was somewhat optimistic. Also, I joined a Facebook group for resort guests and this turned out to be key. I picked up a lot of inside info that I would not have been privy to otherwise. This was our first time to the DR and I have to say that, out of all the Caribbean locales we’ve been to, this one was the most accommodating. From the time we landed at the airport we were given VIP treatment. The Dominican clearly places a very high value on its tourism. We were quickly whisked off to our prearranged ride (Amstar) and then immediately to the resort. The ride took about 30 minutes. Once we arrived at the resort we got the same VIP treatment. The bellhops took our luggage and we were quickly greeted with open arms by the guest services captain. After a short (under 5 minutes) orientation we were taken to our suite, which was awesome. Our room was beautiful, well-appointed and had a view of the pool and the ocean. It was clean, modern, and very comfortable. There was a small fridge with a couple of beers, some water, and a few bottles of soda. On the subject of water, the tap water is not potable so you are provided several large bottles of spring water every day. As far as the housekeeping – top notch. My wife even commented on how terrific they were (and she is a lot harder to please than I am). What really impressed us was how friendly and accommodating all the employees were. It is difficult to describe, in words, how much value they added to our vacation. I often ordered odd and eccentric items from the bar and was never made to feel like I was inconveniencing anyone. As far as the food I would say it is on par with every other all-inclusive resort we’ve stayed at. The buffets ranged from meh to very good while the a la carte’s ranged from great to outstanding. There is plenty of variety but if you’re going to one of these resorts for the food then you’re doing it wrong. This place, like most Caribbean destinations, is all about fun in the sun. The pool is spacious and refreshing (yes, you can actually cool off in the pool!) We spent about 80% of our sun-time at the pool, and the remainder at the beach. While the beach is stunning with sand softer than powder, I prefer to simply float blissfully in the pool while sipping bottomless drinks from the swim-up bar (does it get any better than that?) Yet the beach provided a nice change of pace. One downside to the beach, and I’m sure it’s like this at all the resorts along the coast, is that there’s a constant stream of “vendors” trying to sell you stuff, most of it unwanted. However, if you say “no, gracias” enough they’ll eventually get the hint and leave you alone. Again, this is not an issue at the pool. I’m not a fan of organized pool events. This resort typically has one, maybe two, each day and they weren’t terribly intrusive but, still, I could have done without them. The music, on whole, was fine. Mostly they would play standard Latin Pop at a reasonable volume. A couple of times they had a “pool party” and then they would crank it up. That’s usually when my wife and I would head to the beach. Punta Cana Princess has all the things we want in a resort, and none of the things we don’t. Since my wife and I are not new to the all-inclusive, adult-only Caribbean resort concept we have a basis for comparison. This place is up there with the best of them at a fraction of the cost. And that’s why we’re heading back in a few months. I can already taste the Mama Juana…

Excellent value - great vacation

The entire resort complex is super. All the staff and help were so friendly and helpful at all times. The beach is as nice as I have ever seen, the resort grounds are just beautiful. The restaurants offered great food and were so fun to enjoy. Our breakfast every morning at the buffet, with "Raysa" as hostess, was special. The activity people were really great too, and the pool area was super. It was a wonderful vacation all around.

Resort is going down hill

We have been to the Punta Cana Princess 7 times. This time we booked through Cheap Caribbean.com, BIG MISTAKE. NEVER have we ever been booked in this resort where we were not VIP status, yet we paid more than people we met that were VIP. I WOULD NEVER BOOK THROUGH CHEAP CARIBBEAN.COM ever again. And since Punta Cana Princess is going down hill, we will not be returning. The beds are like sleeping on concrete. Their food is awful. There are sensors in the rooms that turn the AC down to vent mode when you are out of the room. When you return to the room the AC can’t recover and at night there’s no movement while sleeping so the AC goes back into vent mode and you sweat. The new renovations that were done years ago are not very well kept. I hate the enclosed toilet, there’s hardly any room to move with the 2 rolls of toilet paper on the wall......and the trash can along side the toilet! ( I would remove it but housekeeping kept putting it back). I ended up keeping my own room up and putting the card in the key slot for housekeeping to stay out. Was not a very enjoyable experience this time at all right from the start. We requested building 5 for our group of 11 guests through Cheap Caribbean.com. It was stated on OUR reservations but NOT on The Princesses booking from Cheap Caribbean. We were placed in the worse part of the resort. We were able to get The Princess to move us all to building 5 on our second day, but we were still not given VIP status because of WHO WE BOOKED THROUGH. We will vacation elsewhere in the future and book through our agents prior to Cheap Caribbean.com.

With five on-site dining options, the hotel offers guests delectable choices when it comes to dinner. Opt for the a la carte seafood fare of Mare Nostrum, Tex-Mex steak at Rio Grande or elegant Swiss delicacies at Le Petite Fondue. Areito Discotheque offers free admission for all guests looking to shake their tail-feathers late into the evening, and a casino offers thrills even later. Live entertainment is also available at a number of on-site venues.

Sporty visitors enjoy sighting up a bull's-eye on the archery range or vying for match point on one of two tennis courts. If active relaxation is more what you had in mind, Metamorphosis Spa offers sensory nirvana with a variety of treatments, including hydromassage.

Retiring to a Platinum Suite can be its own adventure with a private balcony, premium-brand liquors in your room and nightly turndown service. An extra touch of island class greets guests upon arrival, too--a fruit basket and cigars are waiting to welcome you to paradise.
