  A Fabulous Stay

  We spent 2 wonderful weeks at this hotel. We stayed in the Colonial Club. The restaurants are all very good. We especially liked the Gourmet Restaurant as well as the Steakhouse. I find the staff to be very warm and helpful. We had a wonderful butler named Edith. She was great and I would recommend her to anyone staying in the Colonial club. There are only 2 restaurants that require a reservation. The Gourmet and the Japanese restaurant. Edith made our reservations for us, so we never had to worry about making them. I also want to mention a particular bartender who worked at the adult pool. His name is Leandro and he truly made the trip. He was always smiling, and shared stories about his life. It was a pleasure getting to know him. I am aware that the resort is closing in April for about 6 months to undergo a renovation. I am really looking forward to returning once the resort re-opens in late 2026. Thank you for another fantastic vacation at this resort.

  Beautiful resort with communication issues

  For an all inclusive resort I felt like Majestic Colonial was great. I’ve stayed at numerous all inclusives in Mexico and Jamaica and felt it ranked highest in terms of food quality, ease of getting into restaurants, and beach chair availability. We were here over Christmas as a bigger group of 12. We had no problem getting into restaurants at reasonable times and were able to make reservations at the hibachi restaurant. The French restaurant was fully booked even when we tried to make our reservation on check in. Even the food at the buffet was good and never saw any really long lines. It was amazing to see chairs around the pool and beach still available at 930am, where most resorts you have to find one before 730. We also had a pool side walk out room which I highly recommend as you then always have a spot in the sun. The pools were very clean, quiet and not crowded. The resort in general was very clean and well taken care of. Now the cons. We brought my mom who is in a wheelchair and though most of the resort is fine, the pool area has numerous bridges with steps to get to the other side. There was also a step on the area you had to then go around the pool or to get to the beach area so my mom had to get out of the chair so I could lift it over. We also had a communication issues at check in with getting extra beds for our room. One of the two was delivered after multiple calls but my son had to sleep with us the first night. We received the 2nd bed the next day after 6 phone calls/visits to the desk. My sister did not have this problem and had 2 extra beds at check in, we had to also call for my mom’s room but was delivered first day. We also had a glass break in our room and called the desk who said they would send someone to clean up but no one showed up till housekeeping the next day . The extra beds were delivered without pillows and blankets and never delivered after we called the first time. Had only 2 towels in the room for 4 people and no washcloths, one hand towel and the next day no hand towels. I usually would just grabbed what I needed off the cart in hallway instead of trying to call. All in all I feel there is definitely a bigger language barrier here than Mexico which lead to the above issues. I don’t think I would come back next year but maybe would in the future.

  Great staff and food

  Excellent staff and service. Good was delicious! Taino restaurant Jean Carols was absolutely amazing and took care of us and was very attentive

  Great Resort!! 2nd time!! Biggest and best pool I’ve been to so far!!!

  This is my second time visiting this resort. My last stay was in 2012 with my wife. I always remembered it having a great pool and nice beach. This time I picked it to take my grandkids age 7 and 13. Like any resort there is always some constructive criticism to give . Pool: So the pool is still great !! Very big and you can choose if you want to be by the quiet area or the party pool. But even the party pool wasn’t crazy all the guest were respectful and my grandson played in the pool in that area the entire stay. Bartenders: No complaints with the Bartenders anywhere in the resort . But the girls in the upstairs Lobby bar in the morning were great . Very friendly. Housekeeping: Rooms were always cleaned well and any request were always granted. Guest services: So this trip was a Christmas gift to my 2 Grandchildren. I wanted to surprise them with a video welcoming them to the resort from the staff. I called guest services a head of time and shared my idea with Illiana from Guest services and she made it happen. She was so nice and friendly to talk to . I also let her know we would be celebrating my wife’s birthday while we were here and when I got here we planned it out to make it special. She personally went to our room and decorated it with Beautiful balloons, which my wife loved . She is truly a great example of Guest services!! Food: The food was pretty much comparable to other resorts I’ve been to. Not the best but not the worst . Steak House service with Jesus was Excellent!! He really went out of his way to make my wife’s Birthday Dinner Great!! Really nice guy!! Great work ethic. Ricardo was my guy for breakfast and Lunch !! Great worker and also great work ethic and always so nice to my family . I went to him on my wife birthday and asked him to make breakfast special. Not only did he decorate table in a short notice and sing happy birthday with special treat with a candle but he brought his entire team for a song and dances and drums lol!! Juan J was the star of the Birthday show dancing and singing with my wife , he was also so nice and also great work ethic!! They really made it memorable!! The Hibachi was Great !! The Big Guy that was the chef which I did not get his name was the best Hibachi Chef I have ever had in my lifetime and I’m from New Jersey!! He was everything funny, kind he took pics with my grandson and his food was great!! Towel Guy!! Again forgot his name but my Towel Guy every morning was great!! Shows : Circus show had alot of talented performers and kept our attention. Rock Show was Terrible lol !! Michael Jackson show was great all around!!! Overall this is a great resort and I would return!!
