  Breathless is the only way to describe it

  Such a great resort. We all had the best time. Staff is so friendly and nice. Key people to get to know: GG (personal service) Eduardo and Andrea (beach exhale bar), Simba (activities), Joaquin (pool bar) and Jose (club) they will make sure you have the BEST experience.

  Nice time, nice place

  Xhale concierge was fantastic, Yimi went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We paid extra for Xhale but did not see or feel the additional attention for our money. We had 12 of us.

  BEWARE

  We stayed at Breathless Punta Cana from Oct.14-18 to celebrate my birthday. I was truly disappointed with this all-inclusive experience. This resort is the definition of getting what you pay for, when I booked this trip, I thought I was getting a deal because of maybe being off season, I know realize it’s because it’s a sub-par operation. Check-in was standard and the welcome drink and cold minty towel was a nice refresh after a hot van ride to the resort. The problems began once we got to our room, which was 1259. The room was located next to the "party pool" which we did not mind as we were here to celebrate and have a good time. The room itself had a stale mildew smell and damp feel in the air. It was my 1st time in the DR, and I did not know if this was normal or not. The housekeepers kept a couple of incense in the room, and we lit them to keep the mildew smell at bay during our stay. The bedding in this suite was always damp it looked like the hotel just slapped a bunch of white paint "landlord special" all over areas in the bathroom. The room did come with a jacuzzi tub on the balcony which we did not use because it was dirty and never cleaned by housekeeping. The hotel had no iron or iron boards, only a steamer, so keep that in mind. The entertainment at the resort is easy to miss, you must download an app and keep an eye on the schedule if you want to do any activities during the day, as the resort does a terrible job of advertising and announcing these events and activities. That being said the activities that were offered during the day are a bit childish for an adult only resort. The shows at night are okay but nothing to write home about. There was a circus show, which was by far the weakest out of all that we seen. The nightly entertainment also get packed quickly as it seems that both resorts Breathless and Dreams adults come to enjoy the show. There is also a tiny hot nightclub that is open every night that you can attend after the show. Our last night there they did have a Neon Pool Party at night which I enjoyed, however it was super crowded, and the bartenders were being rude and skipping people in line for the bar. I ended up waiting over 30 min in water at the pool waiting for him to take me over; after being skipped close to 6 times I finally called him out and he made my drink with all the attitude the whole DR. Mind you I had been leaving nice tips for anyone who served me. The food is BIG NO. Probably some of the worst food I have had in my entire life. The first night we got there we ate at the buffet next door at Dreams Onyx because the buffet at Breathless was not open for dinner that night. We were not satisfied with food there and ordered room service later that night. The room service food arrived promptly; however, it tasted terrible. We ordered BBQ chicken wings, salad, and a sandwich, it was all terrible. The wings were overly salty and cold; the salad was wilted and dressing tasted like it had gone off. The rest of our time there we struggled with the food. The breakfast buffet hardly ever had bacon and when they did it was fatty and greasy. The hashbrowns were also overly oily and eggs were cold, wet and runny. There were not many options at the breakfast buffet and all the food at the resort tasted like low quality cheap products. Our last night we went to the Italian restaurant, the food here was okay but the service was HORRIBLE! We were sat and greeted by the server’s assistant who took our drink order and brough a small plate of cheap antipasti appetizers and told us our server would be with us to take our order. From that point on we waited at least 25 min for our server to come over and take our order. The restaurant was not busy and only had 4 other tables sat, 2 of which were eating already. The server was just standing around looking out the window the whole time. We only stayed and waited because we could not take the buffet another day and we were starving. The food was mediocre and not worth the wait. I had garlic shrimp spaghetti, and my sister had the lasagna we both did not finish our small plates. We also tried the steakhouse and beach grill; it was all GROSS. If you enjoy a good meal skip this resort. Moving on to the alcohol, the drinks were WATERED down. I did not think so at first because I watched them pour healthy amounts of alcohol in the glass while making drinks, but when you drink them, you will barely get a buzz. Even the shots taste watered down. I had 4 espresso martinis back-to-back, I barely had a buzz. That's insane to have 4 martinis and not to feel anything. There are many bars around the property so its easy to get a drink, but you will not be drunk. Lastly, while the resort is pretty, it is far from beautiful, the landscaping leaves more to be desired, there are no cute little hideaways or photo ops here, everything is in the open and there are barely any trees to provide shade. ALL the WALKWAYS are UNCOVERED, so wherever you walk you will be covered in sunlight. There is no shade by any of the pools so if you don't get there early enough you will have to suffer with the coverless/umbrella less chairs and loungers outside. Also, the beach is not private, and you will have vendors harassing you to buy weed, jewelry, and other goods. I believe they work with resorts because how else are they getting back there? This resort has birds all around. There were pigeons and starlings hanging around the pool area eating people’s food. Other resorts I have stayed at had hawks or falcons to keep the pest birds away but not here they are all over the resort. The best part about this resort is you also get access to Dreams Onyx next door, which i a more beautiful family resort. If you are looking for a low-quality cheap vacation this is the place. If you want something nicer, please look elsewhere. I wish I could find a review like this when I was doing my research. I forgot to mention they DO NOT HAVE WRISTBANDS!! you must carry a keycard everywhere!!!

  Birthday fun

  I had a wonderful time in Punta Cana. I went for my 50th birthday and had a ball. This place was so beautiful and the service was outstanding. I will absolutely visit again. Thank you guys for the experience.
