Nov 30, 2025The perfect 40th birthday location
Took my wife with some friends to celebrate her 40th birthday. It was perfect, a brilliant resort in a great location full of lovely restaurants and really really great staff. The Xhale upgrade is well worth it too as the, concierge, lounge, extra pool, and special breakfast and lunch areas were amazing.

I chose Breathless Punta Cana because of my amazing stay at Breathless Cancun, where I enjoyed ocean-view swim-out rooms, great food, and diverse entertainment. Unfortunately, Punta Cana did not meet the same standard. My room had loose outlets, and the “swim-up” was actually a walk-out to a shared lazy river—and this resort has no ocean-view swim-out rooms at all, which was disappointing. The toilet tank ran out of water, and I had to refill it myself. The entertainment was one dimensional. The crowd was a bit order and lacking zest which matched the entertainment, which was just the opposite in Cancun. The food was bland, and I became sick from something I ate, leaving me in my room for a day and a half. Entertainment and music were one-dimensional and geared toward an older crowd, unlike the fun, diverse shows in Cancun. I still recommend Breathless Cancun, but I cannot recommend Breathless Punta Cana based on my stay.

Awesome Vacation
We stayed at Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa in November 2025. It was our first visit to the Dominican Republic. The resort is located on a beautiful beach, and its well-maintained, landscaped surroundings make it a paradise worth visiting. Upon checking in, the guest service agent asked us if we wanted to upgrade to the XHale Club level. We are so happy that we did! Our experience was absolutely amazing! Joel, our Personal Concierge was phenomenal. He was thorough, professional, courteous, warm and personable. He made certain that all of our needs were met. The staff members on property are warm and friendly and every one of them go out of their way to provide exceptional service. We were always greeted with a smile and "Hola!" when we passed by a staff member. Our room suite was exceptional, with a modern decor and a very comfortable bed. We were on the third floor, with a balcony view of the pool, on the quiet end of the resort. The food is delicious, with a variety of restaurant choices. The entertainment team is especially talented in getting guests involved, and we participated in quite a few of the pool activities. The nightly shows are energetic and entertaining. We travel frequently all over the world and have been to many all-inclusive resorts. Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa is one of our favorite destinations, and we are sure to return next year. The resort is "Magnifico!" as they say in the Dominican Republic!

Breathless Xhale was worth the money. Overall, we enjoyed our trip and will definitely return. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was extremely attentive—very impressed. We did feel that our assigned butler service could have been stronger. Our butler was not present at check-in, and throughout our stay we noticed other butlers were more available and helpful than our own. There were a few issues during our stay, but they were addressed immediately and did not negatively impact our experience. We look forward to returning in the future.

A trip I didn’t know I needed
Just wrapped up the best birthday vacation at Breathless Punta Cana—beautiful views, perfect energy, amazing food, and memories that will last a lifetime. Life is meant to be lived and I did exactly that. Very beautiful resort! 🌊✨
