Review Hotel Riu Palace Bavaro
I enjoyed every bit of my stay; the restaurant food and services were excellent. Service at the bars was excellent. The cleanliness was extraordinary. The only issue I had was connecting my mobile phone to the TV set in my room. Two hotel supervisor were kind enough to take a look., unfortunately neither of them could solve my problem. They both alerted the Technical services who never come to my room till my departure.

DO NOT STAY HERE *PUNTA CANA HORROR STORY*
I would not advise anyone to stay at this resort. PUNTA CANA HORROR STORY!!! My mom and i flew in on a Saturday and arrived at the hotel around 6pm and flew home Monday. As we walked into the room we noticed little bugs by the fridge counter and paint chips all over our balcony. I also noticed my packing cubes were moved around when i opened my suitcase so i looked around and realized 4 of my Pandora rings were stolen. We tried to let this go and just wanted to get our vacation started so we got dressed and headed to dinner at the American Cuisine. Right off the bat we noticed the terrible customer service from the staff and it seemed like nobody was very helpful when it came to Americans. The few days we were there we did not run into any other Americans and it seemed like alot of Europeans vacationed there. Fast forward to around 8pm the sports bar and outside bar were completely full so we decided to go to the Jungle party. For the resort to be so big with the amount of rooms they definitely need more bar and food options. Before you read anything else we were at the Jungle party from 8:08- 9:00. We arrived at the party and had maybe two-three drinks beforehand. While at the party had another two. I do not drink unless i am on vacation and felt buzzed of coarse but still with it. I noticed my mom who is a heavier drinker completely out of it within 20 minutes of being there. She was pale, slurring her words and could barely hold her balance. I walked her to the front and waited for the next bus thinking she had too much to drink. As she went to get on the bus she flew back and i knew something was wrong and just needed to get her back to the resort at this point. As we are walking through the escalator doors back into the resort my mom cut two of her toes wide open. She was gushing blood everywhere and out of all of the 15 men that work in the lobby not one willingly came over to help. Instead i am screaming for help. A few guys come over and advise me to clean my mothers blood off of the floor. Granted i understand blood is blood but the blood on the floor was my last worry. My mother being ok was obviously my first. They began saying we needed to see the doctor on site being a 5 minute walk from the resort. The idea of this freaked me out and this is when i began to think she was drugged by the way everyone was acting as it this wasnt a big deal and something they see often....... There was one really nice kid named Julio around my age (22) and thinking back i believe he knew my mother also was drugged but was the only one who felt bad. He wheeled her to the doctor and insisted everything was going to be ok and even shared his phone number with me. The doctor on site was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!! He swore up and down that my mothers bone was exposed and refused to even touch it. He spoke decent English and told me she needed to be transported to the Hospital in the middle of Punta Cana. This obviously freaked me out big time but he promised he would call over and run the situation by them and that they would be waiting for us when we arrived. We then got on a amstar van to take us to the hospital. I was terrified about getting back to the resort so i asked the driver for his phone number. When we arrived to the hospital absolutely nobody knew anything nor wanted to help us. I even went as far as google translate and the front desk girl would look at me and shrug her shoulders. They did not care out bit. I became livid causing a scene and that's when they finally said they would see her but required 2,500 upfront just for an x-ray. At this point i don't even want them touching her and we've had a long travel day and are done dealing with the crap. I called the driver that had previously dropped us off and what a shock the call was declined! I walked outside the hospital and asked the security to call the hotel for a ride and said he would and that it would cost nothing through the resort. Well we ended up getting picked up by a random uber. Mind you i'm under the impression that the resort has paid for this due to the circumstance. I jump out of the car and throw my moms arm over my shoulder and start walking into the resort. The uber driver jumped out of this car to fully put his hands on me and push me around demanding $50 for a 3 minute ride. I looked over at the first person i saw which happened to be a European man and asked for help. No shocker he just looked at me and shrug his shoulders. Thankfully two men saw me being agressively pushed and jumped in. I was thankful and still am that we made it back that night. The next day we got on the phone with our travel agent to book the first flight home. We knew we were not safe in Punta Cana. We still needed to clean her wound Sunday morning so i threw my mom over my shoulder and took a walk back to the doctor on site. When we walked into that office his eyes were wide like he didn't expect to see her again. I asked if he would just clean it as we are going home tomorrow for further medical assistance. He told me no once again because "he could see her bone". At this point i become frustrated and asked if he could give me the supplies to clean my moms foot back at the resort. He again told me no and said i could go to the pharmacy. Never knew you go the doctor for help and don't get help!!! Mind you this is our first full day in Punta Cana. THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE!!!! I kid you not everything we ate that day was coming right out of us within 20 minutes of consumption. Terrible diarrhea and stomach issues. Anyways thinking back and reading other reviews my mother was 100% drugged and nobody took us seriously because its such a normal thing they do to people there. The doctor and hospital see these things everyday from tourists being drugged by bartenders on the resorts Oh yeah also. There was no bone showing on my moms toe. DO NOT STAY HERE ESPECIALLY MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS!!!!!!!

Fantastic stay
Had a great time, very beautiful hotel with access to the most gorgeous beach. The rooms were beautiful and clean, lots of variety in restaurants and bars which we really liked as well as the buffet restaurant being spectacular for food quality and variety. Special shout out to staff who made our stay extra wonderful: Daniel in the buffet restaurant who we saw every morning, he’s an absolute asset to your team and deserves a lot of recognition for his customer service. As well as Salas and Alberto also in the restaurant. Karina and Franklin in the bar were absolutely lovely and so friendly. We spent most of our time at the adults only pool so also a special shout out to Alexis and Rueben at the adults on bar. The only thing we wish was that pool volleyball was offered as an activity and my partner loves to play when we come away!!
