Mothers First Visit to the Caribbean

Eric from CheapCaribbean helped me pick a wonderful place for my whole family. From my 82 yr old mother to my 7 yr old grandson. 7 of us had a nice relaxing and fun filled vacation. AMSTAR provided transportation to the resort. Amstar arranged an excursion to the Marinium. We saw exquisite fish. Nurse sharks and held a stingray. The boys dove off the boat in clear blue water. Drinks and snacks were served aboard the boat and in the water. A diver stayed with my mom and aunt and ensured they had an experience of a lifetime. At the resort Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach La Ramano Dominican republic the staff is the friendliest and most gracious and professional that we have had the pleasure of being with. Any issue big or small they handled. The 1st room my mom was in was too loud. So as soon as a room was available near us they moved them. The Diving center is fantastic. The Sea Trek we went on was quite an experience. This whole time was wonderful. Memories that I will carry with me always. Thank You

Gorgeous resort

I wouldn't probably recommend this resort to any of my friends unless they spoke Spanish pretty fluent. We had a very challenging time communicating anything with staff which made it hard for us to get or find things we needed due to the strong language barrier. There seemed to be some communication lacking and some wasted shuffle around time about booking shuttles back to airport, where to book dinners, where to find or purchase additional water to drink etc... The only staff that was friendly were anyone trying to book you an excursion, which they aren't actual hotel staff doing that. The staff themselves simply weren't overly friendly or accommodating. And of course not knowing the language was very difficult and made for somewhat of a frustrating stay. We happen to run into only 2 other Americans while there... That's it, just 2. And they gravitated to us desperately as they heard us speaking English. They seemed to have the same frustrarions going on that we did. We've traveled out of the country a lot and stayed at many all inclusive resorts but this was my first experience that I didn't feel super welcome or helped by the staff. Trips to this area are widely advertised to Americans but I feel that these resorts should have people in place to accommodate different languages. And ones with a little more customer service skills. We take care of the staff always by tipping well and understanding how hard they work, so I'm not sure if there was a culture barrier that I wasn't understanding as well in their lack of hospitality or what. Besides the staff, the resort and water was absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!

Worst trip ever

This is the worst trip that we have had. I will never go to this resort again, the guest and some staff members were rude to me and my family. The room I couldn’t open the back door and the WiFi was there but no one could connect to it. Once I was on the beach I had to spend some time downloading stuff to my phone.

Hotel Description

Viva Wyndam Dominicus Beach: Give an International Twist to a Caribbean Vacation

Jonesin' for a tropical getaway, but want something out of the ordinary, too? Does an ocean-side trapeze lesson sound exotic enough? Believe it. Acrobatic tricks on the beach are within reach at Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach. This hotel, situated on a beautiful stretch of soft white sand, is a circus act and seaside resort in one.

Your all inclusive stay at Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach includes more than a free trapeze lesson with a professional instructor. There are Caribbean dance classes, yoga and meditation sessions and a disco. International theme parties and dinners bring Italy and France to you; you might even get a taste of Carnival. If you still have energy to burn despite the nonstop beach games and live music, you can hit the gym with a trainer, and chill out in the sauna.

At Wyndham Dominicus Beach, though, the best place to see and be seen is the coral-stone grotto. It's the perfect place to lounge the day away, gazing out at the ocean... or maybe at the sexy European vacationers strolling around! With the resort's three freshwater pools, the chances for Speedo sightings are high. When it's time for an afternoon nap, stretch out on one of the outdoor Bali beds while the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep.

You'll need to rest up before your scuba lesson. Wyndham Dominicus Beach offers a variety of diving packages, from beginner level to advanced. The hotel's PADI-certified instructors are happy to show newbies the ropes. Experienced divers will salivate over the chance to explore the 240-ft shipwreck right in front of Dominicus Beach.

To stay fueled for the fun, make reservations at Viva Mexico, where old-school Mexican dishes are served up with modern flair. If you've got the late-night munchies, the wood-burning stove at La Pizzeria is glowing all night long, so grab a slice before you hit the sack. When the night is done, retreat to your oceanfront bungalow or recently renovated hotel room. Crash in your comfy bed to recharge your batteries for tomorrow.
