Wonderful hotel, incredible staff, the most perfect beach!

We just returned home after the most wonderful holiday at Dreams Dominicus La Romana! 🌴 If you’re thinking about booking, do it! Don’t let the negative reviews put you off. You just need to be sensible wherever you stay in the Dominican Republic if you want to avoid getting sick. This resort really goes above and beyond, they sanitize everyone’s hands before entering restaurants and always make sure you have plenty of bottled water. We stayed in lovely Preferred Club rooms in Block 61, which was the perfect location for everything we needed. Our amazing butler/concierge Erick handled all our bookings and made sure we had absolutely everything during our stay. All the staff here deserve a special mention, they’re always smiling, so friendly, and honestly couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable, the entertainment crew in particular work day and night to keep the guests entertained. You can tell they really care about the people staying here, which makes such a difference. We were a bit nervous about the food before coming (after reading a few mixed reviews on Facebook), but we honestly needn’t have worried. For an all‑inclusive, the options were endless, fresh, and different every day and the meals we had were delicious! The coffee shop serves fabulous coffee and a lovey selection of pastries and savoury food snacks. And the beach…wow. Without a doubt, it’s the best in the area, absolute perfection. 🏖️ We’d 100% recommend Dreams Dominicus La Romana to anyone planning a trip to the Dominican. And would definitely come back!

Mixed Experience: Great Staff, Poor Food, and a Disappointing Room Upgrade

We recently stayed at this resort and had a very mixed experience. The property itself is attractive and easy to navigate, and the main pool areas—including the relaxation and kids’ pools—were genuinely enjoyable. Our room was centrally located, which made getting around convenient. Unfortunately, the swim‑out upgrade ended up being a waste. Our patio and pool were in the shade almost the entire day, leaving the water too cold to use and making the space unusable for lounging. For the price, this was a major disappointment. The beach was just okay; the steep bank and rough water made it difficult to enjoy. The biggest issue by far was the food. After trying several restaurants, we consistently had bad experiences. On our second day, our child became sick after eating something, and the following day both my partner and I got sick from dinner. My symptoms lasted a day, but my partner was sick for three. After that, we avoided the restaurants entirely and stuck to room‑service chicken strips and fries—pretty much the only thing we felt safe eating. The saving grace of our stay was the staff. Nearly everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, and our butler, Kiss, was exceptional. She went above and beyond from the moment we arrived—tracking down lactose‑free milk for our son, arranging spa services and a romantic dinner (which we sadly had to cancel due to illness), and checking in regularly once she learned we were sick. Her care and attentiveness were the highlight of our trip. Overall, the resort has potential thanks to its layout and wonderful staff, but the food quality and the unusable swim‑out room significantly impacted our stay. With improvements in those areas, this could be a much better experience.

High-Level Shows, Clean Resort & a Truly Memorable Stay

After spending a wonderful week at the resort, my review truly couldn’t be better. Here are some key points: The resort itself is beautiful and very clean, especially the beach area, which is absolutely stunning. The absolute highlight of the stay was the dance and animation team. The dance level and the shows are extremely high-level — and as a dancer and choreographer myself, I can confidently say this. The technical and artistic quality of the performances is outstanding. The shows (including the water shows) were an absolute highlight of the entire week. Huge compliments to choreographer Ruddy and the entire team: Adriana Griselda Nani Yahiandra Maicol Mario Minimo Joel Blaky Osito Joker Chocolate Peluchito Jerry Rafi Axels (and others whose names I unfortunately can’t recall right now). The reception team was also very helpful, especially Karen. Regarding the stomach-related issues that are sometimes mentioned in reviews: I can honestly say there is nothing to worry about. I have an extremely sensitive stomach and have even been hospitalized multiple times in the past due to bacteria from five-star resorts (including in the DR). This time, I had absolutely no problems at all. Of course, I took basic precautions such as drinking only bottled water, keeping my hands clean, avoiding too much sun exposure, and not drinking alcohol — all of which can weaken the immune system and make the stomach more sensitive to new food, climate, and environmental changes. All in all, I can fully recommend this hotel and would absolutely love to return.

Great stay at dreams definitely going back ! What more of an endorsement is that!

10 day January 2026 stay. Great holiday fantastic stay. Will be going back with my daughter same time 2027! Food was tasty and plenty of it. Staff very helpful and always on hand to wait on you for drinks and a smile. Weather was amazing (37 degrees during our stay) and the pools were a welcome relief none of them very deep so I felt safe and relaxed in all of them. Beech was amazing white powdered sand and turquoise warm sea !

A good all inclusive that gives good service.

This is a typical Dreams resort with all the services and amenities that Dreams provides. The pools were great and the food very good, there were lots of choices. I recommend doing the dining experience. So much food but so fun. If you can’t book here, I have to say, check out the Seascapes down the road. Owned by the same people Hilton/UVC but I think almost prettier and if you have children, more things for them to do.
