BYOS. Bring your own silverware.

The Sunscape Curacao was by far the worst all inclusive resort I have ever stayed at. I travel four times a year, and use Cheap Caribbean often. I have always been pleased, but this resort is totally non acceptable. There are almost too many negatives to mention. There is never silverware in the restaurants or buffets. And you have to ask three or four times to get any. By then your food is even colder than it was to start with. Cold food the rule. The food is almost inedible. The drinks are horrible. Bar service is slow and non interested and often have no alcohol. Wait staff slow and non interested. Long waits for near empty restaurants. Mini bar? Haha. It took me 5 days just to get a can of pop. The bright spots were a beautiful beach, my housekeeper Durene, and three of the bartenders at the pool bar, Norma, Nathalie and Latoya. They were all exceptional. Norma should be a manager in charge of training the rest of the staff in customer service. If you decide to book here, pack a fork, your patience and a sense of humor.

Poor Food

We arrive and they gave you a drink up on arrival. The staff was friendly and helpful through out the whole week. The resort is older the pools are nice. The rooms need some updating but, they were clean. The water out front is beautiful. This was the best part of the whole resort. We snorkeled out front everyday. We saw tons of beautiful fishes, etc. The 1st night we ate at the buffet where the Fire Show is held. The food was cold. They had chafing dishes sent up, but the steno's were not lit. I do not think anyone knew how to light them. They keep looking at them but, no one fix the problem. The Fire Show was good. Breakfast and lunch were just ok, but cold most of the time. Once again the steno's were not lit. We ate a Himistu which was a Japanese style restaurant and it was the only good restaurant they had. The food was hot! The worst restaurant was Da Mario. I order the Sea Foods Linguine and it was terrible. These were the worst muscle I have every tasted. I love muscle, but I could not eat them. The pasta had no flavor and it was cold. My boyfriend order some steak melody and it was tuff and cold. We waited 15 min. and no one came back to the table ,so we walked out. I have never walked out of restaurant before. We ate at Oceana Restaurant and the Grouper was good but it was fried. It was hot. We went back another night for we were running out of place to eat and I order the Mahi Mahi, which was baked. it was dry and cold. We ate at Blue water Grill and I had order Beef Tenderloin to be rare. I was trying to be positive with hopes that it would at least come out medium rare. it was over done and dry. It was just warm when it came out. All the Chefs their need to go back to cooking school. They need more training. Plus the staff needs to learn how to light a sterno. They try to get you to go to a 90 min. with free breakfast etc. They are wanting you to buy a membership. I heard of their other resort Dreams and Secrets, but I would be scared to join. If the food was this bad a this one how would it be at their other location. I have been to 3 different groups of all exclusive and the food was amazing. The food at Sunscape really sucks. This is a part of your vacation you look forward to. Eating some good local food. I did not get to experience that. I hear that people that ate away from the resort had some good food. If I every go back to Curacao I would not stay at this place again.

Wonderful vacation experience at Curacao Sunscape

Although the rooms were outdate, the resort was clean and very well maintained. The staff was delightful and focused on meeting our needs. The food and drinks were good. The service at the Italian restaurant was very slow. Best food was at the Grill and Japanese restaurants. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment.

Nice resort for cozy and comfortable

My friend and I are yearly travelers to this group of resorts . This was our first at Sunscape instead of Dreams . If you’re looking for a little less choices to dine and good with for pay room service then it’s a good resort ! It is SO safe and laid back - chill and relaxing ! The views are stunning but there are no sea turtles here . They swim at a local public beach nearby though . Iguanas roam about , the pelicans are amazing , the views are just stunning . The food is decent , not a lot of selection but you won’t go hungry for sure ! The snorkeling is just wonderful and they offer a lot of excursions including going in to town to shop . It’s a wonderful place truly . The rooms are cool and inviting after the heat in Curacao . I do recommend this resort for sure , just bring your own coffee stir sticks or grab some from coco cafe ! Enjoy Beach lovers !!!

What's to Love

Red carpet check-in at Sunscape Curacao while relishing welcome treats like chocolate chip cookies or frozen pops.

Delicious treatments like strawberry hydrating facials and chocolate mani/pedis. Yum.

The luscious body wraps (for those who don't want to be tempted with naughty, sugary treatments).

The casino (adults-only) with over 300 slot machines and games (if you get too sun burned & wanna cool off).

Cool, exercise-y stuff to check out like a rock climbing wall and Sumo wrestling.

You can learn Papiamentu - a language that is mix of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, English and French.

60 pristine, world-renowned diving sites. Here, you can really make a splash. (Ba dum dum).

Getting to feed turtles, sharks, stingrays, plus a dolphin experience at Sea Aquarium Park.

What We'd Change

The shore is close to the hotel, so you won't take long walks through the sand to get to the ocean. But if taking long walks on the beach is your thing, you can always walk along the shoreline.

Why You Should Go

It's just 10 miles away from the airport. Woot!

The Sun Club, a family-centric program with everything from room upgrades to cartoons in the rooms.

The island is outside of the hurricane belt, so it's good to visit year-round.

It's two miles away from Willemstad, where you can enjoy world-class shopping along with historic sightseeing (if you're into that kind of thing).

Golf is available at the nearby Blue Bay Golf Course and there are two lit tennis courts.

The beach is close to the hotel, so no long trek to reach the ocean.

Eco-adventure tours are available. Bring your bug spray, just in case.

Map of Local Area

Thanks in part to its location outside of the hurricane belt, and in part to the coral reefs that surround it, Curacao is a popular destination any time of the year.
