Very Nice Vacation

The Fairmont Southampton is a beautiful resort on the south shore of the island. The lobby and reception area are lovely and the staff are warm, friendly, and most accommodating. The room was clean, roomy, and well stocked. The pool area left a little to be desired, in my opinion. I’ve been to resorts where the pool is much larger. There were many families with children so the pool was kind of crowded. That’s to be expected, so we spent the day at the beach instead. Plenty of chairs to go around, although I bet during their high season they fill up quickly, so I’d recommend getting to the beach early. There is chair side service for drinks and/or lunch which was very good. The restaurants on the resort are wonderful, albeit a little pricey. Be prepared to spend A LOT in the restaurants. The food, however was excellent. I believe we hit all the restaurants during our stay and they all provided outstanding food. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the prices. The ferry over to Hamilton was convenient. We also took the bus to the Dockyard, which gave us the opportunity to see most of the island (it’s a long ride, more than 40 minutes). Don’t miss the Bermuda Underwater exhibit in Hamilton. Very interesting museum, nicely put together and informative. Our experience with Cheap Caribbean was 5 star all around. Good prices, excellent service from the gentleman I spoke to on the phone. I started to make my reservation on line but had some questions so I called their toll free number. The agent was friendly and he even made suggestions that saved me money, so I would recommend calling rather than doing it online. Excellent experience all around.

Not going back

Walls were paper thin. This is not a place for couples to get away, this is a place for families with children. Every night, we had screaming kids on both sides of our room. I had to wait two days before our room was serviced. I asked for an iron three times before they brought one. Drinks and food were way overpriced. One drink was $18. Bar food was like paying for a gourmet meal. No entertainment at night except for a cheesy band playing in lobby. No going back.

Overall good purchase

Staff was friendly and the natives on the island were eager to please. We visited the Island mid February which is an off season however it made for a more private experience. We were told peak season is April through October once the cruises begin. The over all rating of this hotel is a 5 based on how we were treated however dining is a bit pricey. The continental breakfast included is basic cereal and bagels no eggs or meat included. Upgraded breakfast is 35 or more however if you leave the hotel you’re able to get a decent breakfast for much cheaper sanevwuality. Overall experience was great, beaches were amazingly beautiful. One pool outdoors and one indoors however it’s only available to guests staying on the 6th floor before 6pm, other guests can use the indoor pool after 6pm. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Hotel Description

Fairmont Southampton: Get a ticket to the Best of Bermuda

If your vacation dreams include warm, Bermudian sunsets, great diving and award-winning golf, then Fairmont Southampton in south Bermuda is your dream resort. Your stay at this classically elegant resort includes privileges at its sister property, Hamilton Princess. Vacationing at Fairmont Southampton is all about pampered relaxation. Grab a spot under one of the sunshades, dig your toes into the pink sand and order a cold Dark and Stormy from the beach-side Cabana Bar and Grill. Or stay closer and hang out at the palm-lined outdoor pool, with plenty of comfortable chairs.

The Willow Stream Spa takes the indulgence up a level with a wide range of wraps, massages and facials. Try The Rose Renewal, a gentle exfoliation followed by a bath infused with chamomile and rose petals.

For dive-enthusiasts, Fairmont Southampton features a PADI-certified dive shop. Get on a first-name basis with the beautiful Queen Angelfish on one of Dive Bermuda's snorkeling tours. Or go deeper, for some of Bermuda's best diving, at one of the 300 wreck sites surrounding the island.

If golf is your game, grab your clubs and tee up for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The 18-hole course at the resort was named one of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play Golf" and features incredible views of sundrenched beaches and turquoise seas. In addition, resort guests are welcomed at Riddell's Bay Golf Club, Bermuda's oldest private golf club.

When your outdoor adventures are done for the day, settle in for a culinary adventure at one of eight restaurants. From fresh seafood at the Ocean Club to thick steaks served in a traditional Bermuda cottage, the Waterlot Inn, your palate will look forward to dinner all day. For a real treat for couples, we think you should order up the Bermuda Moon Dance; a dedicated butler will serve you an intimate five-course meal, including champagne, on the beach. To finish your night off, head to the Jasmine Lounge, where the live music and divine martinis close your day in a sophisticated manner.
