Nice Pool go to Secret Beach for clear beach/water
This was a nice small hotel (maybe 80 rooms?) on a quaint island. The fishing is great and the diving is amazing but keep in mind this is not a fancy island so the amenities are a bit more rustic. If you like this type of an adventure then I would recommend the hotel. If you are expecting a more glamorous property I would not go here. Anticipate needing a golf cart to get around and definitely check out Secret Beach. Also, ask the front desk to find Mel and see her feed the crocodiles and go into town for cheap and amazing Burritos at the park.
Beautiful resort for the most part. The beach was not great because of all the seaweed but the rooms were spacious and the villas were gorgeous and modern. The staff was very accommodating and booking through cheapcari. WAN was seamless. Would definitely book again.
I don’t know where to start except to say this was the best vacation I have ever taken in my 62 years on this planet! I want to thank all of the staff at Coco Beach Resort for their friendliness and wonderful hospitality. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, the pools immaculate and the food and drinks were awesome. The concierge were so helpful in setting up our excursions and always asking if there was anything they could do for us. Joe, Ashton, Carlos, and Alex were exceptional bartenders and made us feel like old friends. The island and the people are so beautiful and friendly and I just really never wanted to leave! I truly recommend Coco Beach Resort. I know I will be making another trip to Ambergris Caye in the future! Thanks guys!
This resort is beautiful — the pool is awesome and the staff is friendly. The rooms are just ok. We stayed in a two-bedroom with one tiny bathroom. There is absolutely no counter space, so for a girl, this is a problem. And the only other mirror in the place is a skinny full length one in the master bedroom with no outlets by it or any place to set anything. Seriously, there is no place to set your luggage, so we ended up using the daybed in the second bedroom. And I am not sure what is up with the outlets? They are all very “loose” and we had a hard time keeping things plugged in.
The restaurant on site is one of the more expensive places to eat on the island for dinner, so keep that in mind.
We are used to staying at all-inclusive resorts, so by the time you pay for the room and all your meals, we did not feel like this was a “good deal”. We spent more to do this vacation than we did going to Aruba or Punta Cana.

Is this resort all inclusive?5 answers
Does this package include all food / drinks / etc.?

shannon
This resort is not All-Inclusive for meals and drinks. Guests can enjoy unlimited use of the resort's complimentary high-speed wireless internet and complimentary sea kayaks, as well as unlimited access to volleyball, basketball and tennis courts at the sister property, Belizean Shores Resort.
KellyCC
No, we had to pay for all food and drinks. However, the prices were not too bad, and I would not eliminate Coco Beach because of this. We charged everything to the room and paid the balance at the end. If you leave the resort, you will need to bring money.
JMB1029
You are greeted with a punch at the dock but all other food you will have to pay out of pocket.
Keanelaolani
No, and you wouldn't want it to be. The surrounding restaurants and bars are phenomenal and fair priced.
GrantD
No it isn't, I don't believe there are any All-Inclusives in Belize.

If I purchase a flight and hotel package from cheapcarribean for this hotel, what else do I need to purchase to get to the hotel from the airport?5 answers
6 years, 83 months ago
Cweiss
We do offer round trip airport transfers to this resort. They can be added to a reservation for an additional cost.
CaitlinCC
You need to purchase your flight from BZE International Airport to San Pedro Air strip. The name of the Flight is Tropic Air. This is an Add-On that you do want to purchase.
Keanelaolani
You need to purchase a flight from Belize City to the island, through either Tropic Air or Maya Air.
GrantD
You need to make sure your package covers transportation to the resort. You can get there either by water taxi (takes about 45min - 1hr) which takes you another smaller water tax (about 15 min to the resort) or by commuter plane (about 15 min by air) to the smaller water taxi (again about 15 min to the resort). Water taxi / water taxi is the cheaper way to go - you get so see some beautiful water on your ride over to the island - just takes a while longer to get there.
ck2270
Depends if you want to tax the Water Ferry from Belize City or an airplane. I think CheapCaribbean gives you the option of purchasing the flight but if you book with Coco Beach you can contact them with your flight information and they'll book it for you. The cost is the same either way.

The beaches in Belize (particularly Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker) are nice. The water is absolutely beautiful - crystal clear. You can see the bottom in 50 feet of water. The only problem is that there is a significant amount of sea grass very near the shores so not really great for swimming in.... go off shore about a hundred yards where the water is deeper and it great. Belize is situated near the second largest barrier reef in the world so there are no large breaking waves on shore. The tides are barely noticeable. Each morning, grounds crews rake the beach for wash up sea grass.
ck2270
Beach is beautiful, but ocean grass is near so you cant necessarily wade into it. Not sure about any other beaches...possibly closer to San Pedro or Grand Caribe.
Royyster
Beach is okay not really a "layout" beach but I didn't see many of those in San Pedro. Pool is great (sandy pool) and he beach is very pretty.

Yes is is it's right on the beach

How good is the snorkeling right off the beach?4 answers
I know you are able to kayak to the reef from the resort. How long is that paddle?
6 years, 74 months ago
Peyton
For details on snorkling right off the beach please contact the resort directly. Their email is reservations@cocobeachbelize.com
LizCC
You can take the paddle boards and kayaks to the reef easily with their snorkeling gear in a matter of minutes to see some basic fish but definitely do the tour to the reef for an amazing experience ! Staff tour guides were awesome !!!
Normac
Snorkeling off the beach is not great. The “reefs” are approx 200 yd from shore. It is beautiful to kayak and swim but I would suggest a snorkel tour if you want to see many fish, lobsters and sting rays. Mexico Rocks is 15 min boat ride and you’ll see lots of different fish.
Kmkelly22
You can take a Kayak and paddle approx 100 yards offshore, but you would need to be careful if the winds kick up that you don't have a hard time paddling back

Does this resort allow alcohol to be carried in from off site? Especially to the pool/beach area?4 answers
5 years, 68 months ago
South Dakota
This resort does allow you to bring alcohol from off site. You can also bring alcohol to the pool/beach area as long as it is in a plastic cup and not glass.
CaitlinCC
Not to the swim up pool but everywhere else yes.
Spudwright
Naturally they'd prefer you to buy from them however we did purchasing things at local stores and kept it in our room fridge. If you want to make your own drinks and take them to the pool, make sure you have plastic cups, they don't allow glass in the pool area.
Lulu53172
Definitely. Everyone had cups of their own and were drinking all day.

I think its about 150 per person roundtrip.

CCGreg
Didn't have breakfast there.
Lunch - $10-$15 - USD
Dinner - $20-$30 - USD
Drinks - $5-$15 - USD
(Depends if you drink a beer or something fancier off their menu)
We had a golf cart so most of our meals were in the town of San Pedro or places along the way.
Lulu53172
Not bad considering everything is imported. For US dollars just cut belizean price in half.
Asylum1027
we found prices to be quite high everywhere on the island. For our family of 4, lunch/dinner was about $60-$75 American per meal.
teachermom
Breakfast was about $40 US a day. Belize $80 for the 4 of us. I would bring your own drinks or buy at the liquor store. But it will run about $3-5 US a drink. Dinners if we are here was about $50. Person.
