Service

The bartenders and the waitresses are very rude here. My wife and I got the premium all inclusive vacay here. Meaning you can get premium drinks or top shelf drinks, well you might as well get the low grade because the premium drinks here are not premium at all. You have to go get your own drinks when your on the beach as well. There are no waitress and you want something they act as if you owe them something. The attitude was terrible as well as the will to work for a tip. The Japanese place as far as food was the best and here in the states it would be mediocre. This place sucked honestly! I went the resort and they had better food. If I stay in Nassau again, I'll probably stay at Atlantis or the Bahamas mar. The other places aren't worth it.

Okay

The staff at the Melia was exceptional but the food and room were average at best. The adult pool and beach were always crowded, so you need to get your spot early.

needs major improvements

Property is old and smells old. The Level has no real major benefits and is over rated. Some of the employees act like they do not want to be there or bothered and are rude. The buffet food not much variety and looks and tasted old and many times not replenished. The other dining restaurants were mediocore. We were switched from room to room because of mechanical and noise issues. The ocean view was great and the beaches were great. over all would not recommend.

BEACH: The beach was very accessible; plenty of chairs for use and easy access down wooden steps to the lapping waves as the property and lounges sat above the water and tide of the beach. ROOM: The room and beds were comfortable and the balcony opened to a delicious ocean view. The door to the room stuck however and had to be closed with force as it would not fully close otherwise. The bathroom door was frosted glass framed in wood and the view directly from the door was the toilet. I’ve been to more awkward bathroom arrangements but you should be aware of the bathroom set-up. ARRIVAL/Check-in/LEVEL OFFICE: The arrival and check-in was smooth and we were provided a cocktail and a cool hand towel. Snacks, fruit, coffee and liquor were available for consumption not only during check-in but throughout the stay while the office was open. The coffee machine was especially helpful as there wasn’t another such machine for guests to get cappuccino’s, latte’s on their own. FOOD/RESTAURANTS: The food at each of the restaurants we tried - Asian, Italian and tapas For lack of name - were average at best. Because the food was not that tasty, or interesting, we Would stop at the buffet to finish the meal. The buffet was the safety net for getting a complete meal as it had lots of options and could find a variety of food to try and eat. They generally had good fruit, some good desserts, assortment of greens and other options to make a salad and several meat options at each lunch and dinner. Breakfast at the buffet had standard options and was solid. The restaurant outside near the beach had a couple good fruit juices but the food was generally average as well. The worst food was at the Italian restaurant; most edible was the bread and salad appetizer yet for the main course could only eat a couple bites and didn’t entertain dessert. The second worse food was at the tapas restaurant; it was generally bland, the BBQ wings were uninspiring of taste, calamari wasn’t able to be eaten and the empanadas were decent but also uninspiring to taste. The Asian fusion restaurant had a SERVICE: The service was spotty at the beach while on the lounges. Sometimes a waiter would come by and ask/take an order while other times there was none to be found or long gaps between their service. The service at the tapas Restaurant was not helpful, uninterested in waiting the table or offering alternatives to drink when asked for a drink they did not have. Our waiter really couldn’t be bothered. The staff at the Italian restaurant was similarly situated; it appeared to be a chore for them to do small things like bring more bread or provide water while waited for wine. The Asian restaurant was initially slow and we had about three different waiters during the meal but it had better service than the other two. The ‘best’ service we received was in the buffet. While they may have been slow to seat each group, the staff was responsive in bringing beverages to the table and returning to see if something was needed and provided some pleasant conversation. OVERALL: It was an average experience - nothing bad occurred and the food and service was mediocre for such a resort and there is no single or more experience that would draw us back to the property.
