Situated on downtown Nassau's only private beach and the site of Old Fort Nassau, the British Colonial Hilton in the Bahamas has undergone a multi-million renovation throughout all areas of the hotel, and offers a taste of the island's rich history, along with some of the most modern amenities for both business and vacation travelers. The hotel is a true Bahamian experience with a marble tiled lobby and is studded with palm trees under a skylight ceiling.

The service at the BC was great. The staff did their best to accommodate but it isn’t enough. The room was VERY humid, hung up bathing suits wouldn’t dry for days. We were there for a wedding and everyone had the same problem so it wasn’t just our room. They have to really improve this ASAP. The rooms are also super small. I should of paid more attention to the reviews.
Hilton British Colonial
No breakfast out at buffet
Upon arrival we were told we would get our room until 10:00 PM
Tried calling Cheap Caribbean however the hold time was 308 minutes. It was not economical to remain on hold.
Front desk offered no solutions, we demanded to speak with a manger.
Manager offered dinner and drinks for our inconvenience, we demanded dinner breakfast and drinks for the entire stay. She declined. She then offered breakfast for the entire stay and dinner for one night. The dinner took one hour and twenty miners to arrive after two request to the bar tender. Come to find the breakfast she gave was only continental not full breakfast. I proceeded back to the desk to demand a full breakfast, the day desk manager honored my request.
The room had a sink hole in the bed, we were so tired we decided to stay until the next day, we checked out the hotel to stay Somewhere else.
The pool was closed , no one either Cheap Caribbean or the Hilton staff informed us that the pool was closed indefinitely. There was also construction going on next door with fork trucks passing through the walk ways near the pool. There was all kind of bacteria and debris in the pool and the beach area was no better.
Finally when we checked out the front desk associate had the audacity to ask for the breakfast coupons back.
This was no where near a 4 1/2 sun, we felt cheat out of a long awaited vacation. The British colonial is not a resort it’s a hotel that has the beach as his backyard there’s no resort amenities at all.
I will never do another deal of fortune!!!!
The resort was nice and clean. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The bartender Philip was super nice and surprised and accommodated us with awesome drinks.
There was one day that the elevator was out of order for a few hours so we had to use the stairs. This is no big deal for my husband and I, but when I had to get back down to the lobby, I was totally lost and went from door to door like a maze as there were no specific signs. I finally found the correct door to get me to the lobby, only because a staff member was going up the stairs and I asked him if I was going the right way. The elevators were working fine again after we got back from dinner. There was always a taxi ready and available when we needed it right at the hotel.
This hotel was within walking distance to most sightseeing areas, shopping and restaurants, which was super convenient!
We did not use the pool, but we enjoyed the beautiful beach. The beach was not big, but also was not crowded so it was all good. There were plenty of lounge chairs on the beach to relax in, but not enough with umbrellas so those were taken. You had to wait for people to leave to rush over to grab chairs with an umbrella.
We booked this trip the day before we left so it was last minute and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Resort really needs to be updated. Several days only 1 out of the 3 elevators were working. There is construction going on beside the resort and jack hammers were going as early as 6am Friday & Saturday morning. Extremely loud and annoying. We paid for an upgraded King deluxe room with the ocean view and the room was no bigger than a standard hotel room with just enough room for the king bed and a dresser.
The breakfast buffet was subpar for it to be over $25 per person.
The staff was the most pleasant part of our stay as everyone from the front desk, to bartenders, to the housekeeping staff.
To be a Hilton Honors guest I was extremely disappointed by the resort and price.

Is this an all inclusive resort or is there a meal plan?10 answers

This resort is considered a European Plan resort, basically meaning that meals and drinks are not included. Cheap Caribbean does offer a Breakfast Plan that can be added onto the reservation for an additional cost.
bscheliga
This is NOT an all inclusive resort It's a traditional business hotel right in the heart of the tourist area and downtown.
It's lovely for someone looking to relax.. but it's not a resort atmosphere..
No meal plan, although some packages include breakfast. there's a beachfront grille and a nice upscale restaurant, as well as the buillion bar, which serves a bar menu after 5:30pm
Shelley
No, is not all inclusive and no meal plan.
Dipz
It is not all-inclusive, and I was not aware of any meal plan. All meals, as far as I know, are an additional charge.
halfcent
No ,meals not included.
Djamila
From what I saw, there isn't an all-inclusive option but there are "plans" that you can pre-purchase through the hotel for cashless/cardless purchases. It doesn't appear that it's a money saver through as it essentially just gives you an allotment of dollars and they deduct each time you order something. (ie, you can pruchase a voucher for $300 of spending per person and drinks at the pool bar run about $16, so they would just keep pulling from your voucher).
CrystalR22
This resort is not considered All Inclusive. This means that all meals and beverages will be at your own expense.
LauraTCC
All inclusive without meals
Chatty92
Not all inclusive. They serve breakfast for 26.00 per person, Sales and VAT tax not included.
TravelingTrainer
No meals included you have to buy everything.
Jorgeb831
I wouldn't call this hotel a resort at all. It's more of a business hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't see any families, and not more than 3 people were ever on the beach.
