Amazing!
I thought that I was done with all inclusives until I booked with Cheap Caribbean and at Renaissance in Aruba. They have changed my mind! What an AMAZING trip. It was my husband's birthday and our anniversary and we could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. It was convenient to everything. The view from our room was like no other. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff was outstanding! We booked a night at the Steakhouse and it was so wonderful that we had to book another night. Our waiter Omar was the best. We requested him again. The fact that you are able to go between the two resorts is nice. The private island (flamingos and iguanas) is something to see. We enjoyed that experience. We met so many nice people. The area was absolutely gorgeous and you always felt safe. Everyone was so helpful. We have traveled to many different islands and seen many places but we definitely rank this one as one of our top picks! We spoke with many others and have already told them that they cannot go wrong with booking through Cheap Caribbean. Thank you for a unique and pleasant vacation. I truly enjoyed this trip. I have only been back less than 24 hours when writing this review and I miss it already. We will be using Cheap Caribbean again and would love to stay at the Renaissance in Aruba again.
The resort is great. Wonderful area and the service was top notch. One night, the server called us by our last name when introducing himself, which was really impressive.
I have 2 gripes, and they're small. More like heads up to visitors. 1st, the hotel is under some sort of renovation and the sound of tile or stone saws cutting away all day was loud. Again, small gripe because they're ultimately doing it to improve the place, and it's obviously not permanent.
The other gripe is more for informational purposes. There are 2 Renaissance resorts right there. One borders the water and one doesn't. If you want to be able to walk right out of the back of the place to multiple pools, a lagoon, and ocean water, this is not the place for you. The other Renaissance across the street is. Had we known, we would have booked the other place. On the flip side, you can easily walk over and use that resort as well.
Overall, we had a great time and would definitely go back. Room was basic but clean, and the restaurants were excellent. We didn't have a bad meal all week. Hope you enjoy it!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for my birthday and our anniversary and it’s safe to say we did not want to leave. Everything about our trip was fantastic. The all inclusive package was worth the extra cash ahead of time. Unlimited drinks and great food options especially the steak house in the marina side of renaissance. We went there twice. Service all around was great. The unlimited access to the private island was beyond an amazing experience. We are already planning when we can come back. Excellent all around.
Couldn't have been any better. Food, service, private island...everything was fantastic! Very nice staff. Steak house was memorable. Visited the other family resort across the street a few times also. We will be back!

Is the adult beach topless or nude? Thanks
8 years, 98 months ago
SherryH
Hi Sherry,
Nude sunbathing is not tolerated in Aruba, however the Renaissance does own a private island, available only to guests of the resort, which allows topless sunbathing. It offers shuttle service to and from the island.
ccsusan1
The island does have two beaches, one for adults only, and one for families. There were no topless swimmers or sun bathers when we were there, although I did not see anything that would prohibit it.
Suzem
not that we saw. Adult only beach has flamingoes!
GLJEW
no, not when we were there, but we spent alot of time on the family side where the bar and food were. This was really quiet b/c of the wind and sound of the ocean, there were no screamers, maybe we got lucky...
shamrockjo

aruba6789
We never saw anyone topless in the 5 days there.
lcq4653
The adults only beach was not adults only to start with. Families were on both beaches and no one was topless or nude.
Jayray
A few go topless.
butterfly12
its not a nude beach but one day i was there a lady definitely decided topless was the way to go
theclintons
It says it can be topless but no one did when I was there on 4/13!

Is the Renaissance an all-inclusive resort or is that just an option?7 answers
7 years, 89 months ago
New York
Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino gives you the option to book all inclusive. The resort can be found twice on our website, the first option has a European Plan or without meals and the second option is listed as All Inclusive.
MariaCC
all inclusive is an option. there are afew things as far as dining thats not included with all inclusive but definitely a better choice. ikept all ourreciepts and in six days we would have spent 1000 on food
theclintons
It is just an option, you can choose not to do the all-inclusive but I would highly recommend going with it.
kittle
It's an option I highly recommend!
BostonStrong
It is an option
realnicetime
It is just an "upgrade" option. The all-inclusive really only means meals and drinks from a "special" menu. Non-motorized water sports, etc. are not included and are a separate fee.

What is the charge for wireless Internet service at Renaissance Aruba?10 answers
7 years, 88 months ago
Dicer
We do not currently have the pricing available for internet access for the Renaissance Aruba as amenities of this sort are always subject to change.
KateHCC
They have Wi-Fi in the lobby.
butterfly12
no charge but only works really good in the lobby.
theclintons
It is free, however the service was in limited areas. At the Ocean Suites we could only get service near the lobby or in the restaurant on the private island.
AndreaH
It's $15 a day and its wired in so you need wireless router for room. IMO just use lobby for free wifi on phones and iPads when you need it and enjoy the sun, beach, food and service. Only reason I can think of to pay would be work related otherwise enjoy aruba!
BostonStrong
There is free wifi in the hotel lobby and then there is a business center that has computers and i think the charge was 15 cents per minute. we just used the wifi in the lobby whenever we needed to check anything....not sure if they have wireless internet availability throughout the resort.
FallOutGirl22
You can get wireless in the Hotel Lobby for free.
There is a computer room where they charge you to use the computers
Smileprincess
Wireless internet is now free throughout the resort including all public spaces and in all rooms and suites.
VanDerLindenFamily
nada. it's free
Thayden
The wireless internet is included for free. When logging on it mentions about "being charged to the room", but we confirmed with the front desk that there is no charge.

Do you have to shuttle or take a boat to get to the beach?10 answers
my parents and I want to stay at the adults only Marina Resort in the Renaissance Aruba Resort but somewhere, I thought I saw that you had to take a boat to get out to the beach, you can't just walk from your hotel room. Is that true? If so, does it cost money and how long does it take?
6 years, 84 months ago
Michigan
According to the resort's website, https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/auabr-renaissance-aruba-resort-and-casino/, they do offer a complimentary boat launch to Renaissance Island.
MariaCC
You do not have to take a boat ride to get to the beach, just a 5 minute walk from the adult only section to the family friendly part where the beach is. The walk isn't bad at all! ... You do have to take a boat to get to the private island though. The boat picks you up and drops you off in the lobby of the adult only building (it's really awesome). And the boat ride to the private island is about 12 min long. You don't have to go to the private island, but I highly recommend it!
kittle
The boat picks you up right inside the Marina hotel and is about a 10-15 minute ride to island. You can also walk over to the Ocean Suites part of the hotel where there is a lagoon beach. No cost for either, just show your room key.
AndreaH
The boat picks u up in lobby every 10 minutes to private beach. Their is no beach but a private lagoon at Ocean Suites across street.
BostonStrong
Yes, if you are at the adults only then you cannot walk to the beach. There is a nice pool at the Marina and the ocean suites is right across the street in walking distance that has another pool and a small beach area. However, both the adults only and ocean suites have access to the private beach by boat. there are small ports easily located within the hotels and you just hop on a water taxi/boat to get to the private beach - it's about an 8 minute boat ride. We went there almost every day during our 5 night stay and it was so easy and fun! We enjoyed the boat ride and then the private island is wonderful - always a chair available, a place for lunch, a fitness center, and two areas to the choose from: family friendly or adult only. If you are staying at the resort it does not cost money.
FallOutGirl22
There IS a beach & a pool at the Marina Resort. There is also a private beach that belongs only to Renaissance with a family side & an adult side that takes a 10 minute boat ride to get to it. The boat comes every 15 minutes to take people back & forth
two4nani
If you stay at the adult resort, they do not have a beach, you will have to take a boat shuttle to the island.( about 3 min boat ride and it leaves every 15 mins). The shuttle for the adult section picks up inside the lobby of the hotel. The family section picks up at the dock at that resort and their is no cost for the shuttle. have a great time
realnicetime
You have to take a water taxi that will pick you up from the hotel and it is free. It takes 5 minutes to get there and it is such a beautiful view!!!
Jerseygirl28
No you have to take a boat and it's great. Relaxing and fun.
Smileprincess
No, you can't walk to the beach from the Marina Resort, however, there is a boat the picks you up right at the resort. It costs nothing, is only for the guests of the resort and is only a 5min ride. There are boats that leave every 10-15mins.

That is something that is going to depend on the child because we cannot guarantee the ages of guests at any point throughout the year. We suggest calling one of our New Reservations Specialists to best assist you in finding the best resort for you and your family.
LaurenCC
We took our two kids, our son is almost 13 and our daughter is 16. We had a great time as a family and saw several teenagers there. There is not a whole lot to do besides play in the water or lay on the beach, but we took some small pool balls with us and that made it fun.
AndreaH
My 12 and 14 year old daughters loved it. It's just nice for eveyone!
BostonStrong
Of course, he/she should not feel out of place. Tons to do on the island.

Are the double occupancy beds doubles or full size??
6 years, 83 months ago

Check with the resort directly to see if there are any benefits for being a Platinum member. The adults only room offer a king size bed, the suite room categories offer a king size bed with a queen pull out couch.
CaitlinCC
They are king actually- absolutely huge. we were in the ocean suites and they were. My friend is a platinum elite and if you mention that after you book they will make sure you get a good room
BrittTaylor
Not sure about the Platinum Member benefits. But they are full size beds, not queens.
Smileprincess
Beds are queen size and very comfortable.

Not sure about the beds but they could have cared less that I was platinum. You do get 2 free water bottles and free Wi-Fi but that is it. I had a king sized bed.

If you are staying at the Resort then there is no charge! I loved the private island - just be careful of the rocks and coral in the ocean, my boyfriend got sliced by some oral in the water and it took a big chunk out of his foot....he had to go to the hospital and get some stitches since it severed an artery. Thankfully, it was on the last night of our trip so it did not ruin anything.

KristenCC
Yes this resort does allow you to add the all - inclusive for a set fee. For pricing please contact the resort directly.
CaitlinCC
Not sure but I highly recommend all inclusive as drinks and meals are crazy expensive. 15pct tips are also included. No headaches and kids loved it. Makes for a stress free fun vacation for all and is worth every penny. A you do is show your room key for all meals and drinks and sign off!

Smith Steak and Chop House (dinner, Silver Menu only); Papagayo Bar & Grill (lunch); The Lounge Midnight Grill (dinner); and Sole (lunch/dinner). There are options for buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (at least at the Marina location). There are also restaurants that are not buffet but you get served with a waiter and can choose from a menu. One restaurant is only open Mon., Wed., and Fri at the ocean suites location and there are are a few other options that are open each night, just make a reservation. It's a really great deal because it's all you eat at the restaurants, so basically choose anything you like and then there is the buffet option as well if that is more to your liking.
FallOutGirl22
We did all inclusive and the breakfast and dinner at Aquarias is buffett. There is an LG Steakhouse in the hotel also and it is a la cart, along with the bar food.
Lsimms
5 - 2 in each Renassiance property (across the street from each other) and one on the private island.
TJMA
There are 5 restaurants included. One is 5 star steak house that serves dinner only. The also have Aquarius which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and features a different dinner cuisine everyday. I enjoyed Indian, Mexican and seafood on 3 separate days. There is also The Blue with serves lunch & dinner in an outdoor atmosphere. At the other resort the is an outdoor café & a pool side area that serves "bar food" like wings & burgers. Overall B+
two4nani
Depends on the resturant. The breakfest where buffet style, but they do have a menu and they have cooks to prepair omelets, eggs and waffles. But all have really fresh fruit, which my wife loved. Most of the other meals are 4 course meals, buffet and ala cart. The steack house does have an seperate all Inclusive menu. but if you want some thing off of the pay as you go menu you only have to pay the differnce.
realnicetime
No, you can eat at all the places that it states on the website. The aquarius restaurant is the best for me, loved their seafood dinner buffet!!! It is all inclusive and unlimited!
Jerseygirl28
You have 2 breakfast restaurants to choose from and 3 or 4 for lunch. And 3 for dinner.
Jj627
Breakfast can be ala carte or buffet, which is great.
Dinner there are 2 restarurants, 1 Steakhouse (alacarte) 1 Seafood (can be buffet/ala carte) 1 Themed buffet (not good) Not many food optionns
Smileprincess
Breakfast is a buffet but a fairly good one. The Aquarius has a seafood buffet every night and the captains corner has a different themed buffet every night. The steak hose is a la carte but very good. Both the Sole and the Blue Bar have a great selection of food for lunch, snacks or a light dinner.

There is shopping within the hotel. It is on the ground level, you can see the shops as you access the escalator to the hotel lobby. The stores are mostly high end retailers such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Michael Kors.
Honeymoons2014
There is a high end shopping mall under the Renaissance Hotel. I couldn't afford anything there. Down the street is where the jewelry stores are. It is close to where the cruise ships let off their passengers. So there's a bunch of shopping near the hotel, both upscale and average.

There are a lot if high end designer stores in the mall below the hotel as well as many other tourist/souvenir shops directly behind the resort. Lots if shopping in walking distance for everything you can imagine!!

Boats go back and forth all day and it's a 10 minute ride so the wait is not long at all. There are restrooms, a restaurant, gym, spa cove, Red Sail Sports facility and a sundry shop plus adult exclusive and family beaches.
VanDerLindenFamily
there is about 4 boats always moving. never wait more than ten minutes.
Thayden
The boats go back and forth every 15 minutes, so the wait for them is ~10 minutes usually. It only takes about 7 minutes to get from the Marina Hotel (the furthest away stop) to the Island. There are bathrooms on the family-side of the island. I don't know about water fountains, but there are bars that will serve you water. You could bring your own snorkel gear if you like, I am unsure if there is any there but there is a place that has towels and floating chairs which may have snorkel gear too. You can order food at the bars there; it does take a little while though so fair warning. I do not believe they have lockers on the island.
AussieDan
The boats are non stop every 15 minutes back and forth. The ride takes about 10 minutes. The water at the island beach side is very calm. Yes you can bring your own gear but they do have them there for rent as well. Towels are free. Food is excellent at the covered grill. I did not see lockers.

Escape Inclusive is the all-inclusive package - Renaissance Aruba has two listings with Cheap Caribbean, one is EP (no meals) and one is All-inclusive.
VanDerLindenFamily
Yes. Food and drinks included.
Bubsyboy
Not sure what the escape is but food and alcohol is part of the all inclusive however, both are limited meaning certain food and alcohol is not part of your package for example if you wanted a Crown Royal you would need to pay full price out of pocket.
Marcell
It is all inclusive, if you stay within the guidelines of drink and food!

No great pools and two hot tubs
Skimo
The pool is still under construction.
Sundevil00
Please note, Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino has advised that will be renovating one of the Renaissance Ocean Suites pools. Guests still have full use of the other pool at the Ocean Suites as well as the private beaches on Renaissance Island. Expected completion date for the renovations is November 10, 2015.
TimCC

Are there any places for free snorkeling?5 answers
Or do you have to pay for an excursion every time?
3 years, 47 months ago
Florida
Most resorts will have it with fees for rental equipment. If you have any further questions or need help booking, please call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
You can take a cab somewhere but snorkeling at the resort is useless and a waste of time. We rode 5-6 miles for $20 each way to snorkel elsewhere
bbailey0910
No that I seen
Cherrell
You can snorkel on your he private island by renting the snorkeling gear for 25 dollars a day.
Kld93
You have to pay for excursions.

Does the resort have a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport?5 answers
3 years, 46 months ago
caron
No shuttle service for free available. They can arrange a cab for you if you need it. Typically mini busses will take groups past all the resorts for a minimal cost. We booked cheapcaribbean and added the transfer in directly at checkout which worked out great through Amstar.
JohnDoughnuts
We offer airport transportation through a contracted transfer company at an additional cost. If you have any further questions or need help booking, please call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
No, cab fare is $20
MrSunshine
No you need to take a cab which is $20 each way.

No, it does not. Taxis from the hotel are $18 US.

Is wine included in the all-inclusive plan at the various restaurants ? What about on the private Renaissance island -- is wine included as well?5 answers
3 years, 44 months ago
Ele
Please inquire with the resort directly for more information on drink selection. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
Yes it is included everywhere they serve drinks when you have all inclusive.
Thayden
Only house brands by the glass.
bbailey0910
The house wines were included in the all inclusive. The Steakhouse has an extensive cellar so I imagine the higher-end wines are not. I had a Merlot and a Cab Sav with dinners and they were included. I know they also served wine at the Blue bar. As for the beachside bars I am not sure.
AussieDan
All alcohol was included with a few exceptions. Wine was included both at the resort and on the island.

What main beach is this resort located on? Palm beach?
3 years, 43 months ago
rmac
This hotel is located on the marina but there is a small island just offshore (which has a beach) that guests can be water taxied to.
CCGreg
It is not located on a beach hey have a private beach on an island located off the shore of Aruba
Liz325
The closet and most beautiful beach is Eagle Beach. Its a $10 cab drive from the resort.
JayNunez
This is located on the marina side of the island near by to the airport. The Marina Renaissance Hote does not have a beach, however you can take the water taxi to their private island which is paradise and not nearly as crowded as palm beach.
FlamingoFrank
It is a Beach front but can only swim in a small lagoon type. You need to take a shuttle (included as resort guess free) to the private islands. You can swim there. This resort is right in downtown with lots of activities. Just take a taxi right at front entrance to Eagle beach for $10 and Palm beach for $11 one way and up to 5 people. Renaissance is a very nice and clean resort. You and family will like it.

How big is the casino, does it have quite a few slots, does it have craps?5 answers
3 years, 40 months ago
US - Michigan
The Crystal Casino has plenty of variety! This almost 15,000-square-foot (1,394-square-meter) parlor features over 370 slot machines, as well as tables for roulette, craps, blackjack, Caribbean stud poker, and Texas hold 'em.
JeannieCC
It has quite a few slots and I'd say 90% of them being penny slots. I did not see a craps table. They have 3 card poker, blackjack, Caribbean stud and roulette. The Seaport Casino just across the road seems to have a few more higher denomination slots but about the same on table games. Cheers.
BeachLovers0525
No craps but a nice amount of slots which hit nicely while we were there
Zman422
It has everything except a crap table. Plenty of slots and game tables. Even have some $5 tables for blackjack! Excellent on serving free drinks! Only downside is that it can be a little smoky sometime.
troutmaster
The casino is not huge like ones in the US like Vegas or Atlantic City. There are actually two casinos on the property. The one at the Marina building had more slots than anything else. I didn't go to the other one because they were so smoky it was sickening. They did have some table games but I don't know about craps.

When is the best time of year to book a trip to Aruba?5 answers
My husband and I are going to book a trip to Renaissance but we are not sure when the best time to visit, we like it nice & warm like in the 80's but not so hot it's unbearable.
3 years, 40 months ago
US - Michigan
Statistically, January tends to be the mildest month to travel to Aruba, with an average high of 86°F and an average low of 76°F, though this can fluctuate.
JeannieCC
My wife and I stayed towards the end of July. It was warm but very comfortable. I think high 80's was as hot as it got but the breeze never stops blowing so it doesn't even feel 80's. Enjoy!
BeachLovers0525
After speaking with a local taxi driver, she told me that the most busy time of the year is Christmas/New Years, and the month of February. Anytime after February is considered the "low" season. The climate is the same most of the year, low to mid 80's at all times. If it ever does rain, it's a 10 minute shower then immediately clears up!
BadGirlBreBre
I don't think there is a bad time of year to visit Aruba. The average temperature is 82 degrees and with the desert environment, it is a nice, dry heat; when you combine those perfect temps with the constant trade-winds that Aruba gets, you just can't ask for much more perfect weather! We just got back from a trip to Aruba the first week of June and it was sunny every day, about 85 degrees, and with the constant wind, I never felt hot once!
JamiB
We went between June 10-15/2018. With tradewinds, you feel very pleasant. Not too hot or humid as in Cancun or else.

The Marina Hotel does not have a swim up bar but the servers will bring drinks to you while you are in the pool. The Ocean Hotel does have a swim up bar so you also can walk or take the free shuttle across the street to the Ocean Hotel as it is included in the Renaissance property.
